My training team was holding an event at the Hendry House. We were able to walk across the street which made everything most convenient. The place was clean, had comfortable beds, and all the amenities advertised. The eighborhhod is very quiet and a great place to walk. The owner made check in very easy since we were all coming from different places. Would definitely use again if we hold an event nearby.
The apartment is spacious; we stayed with our two kids. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king sized bed with a small en suite bathroom. The kids stayed in the second bedroom that has a full sized bed and a larger en suite bathroom that is also accessible from the hall. We definitely felt like we had room to spread out and the owner was very gracious. Everything we needed was provided. We ended up not using the kitchen much, but it is a good size and has an adjacent dining area.
We had a great experience staying here for the Marine Corp Marathon this past weekend. The home is very comfortable and well stocked. Muna was very friendly and available for any questions we had. It is a nice little walk to dining and groceries - a very nice neighborhood environment not far out of D.C. We had no trouble getting Uber there, but if using for the marathon I would recommend renting a car. Very close to DCA also.
The home was close to everything. There are great restaurants in the area and Uber never arrived more than three or four minutes after we called for them. We were able to see all of the sites we wanted to see and had a great time.
We were very impressed with the apartment, grounds and location. The owner is such a personable and sincere person.
Location was perfect for our visit to Local Museums.
Delightful home and stay! Perfect location to get around DC. Already looking forward to our next stay. Big 5 stars!!!
Muna is a gracious host and thought of everything to make our stay a pleasure. She provides a clean and comfortable home away from home. The private backyard setting is a relaxing spot at the end of the day. Our party of 2 couples each had spacious bedrooms with a private bathroom. The kitchen was well equipped if you plan on cooking and coffee and tea was already there. This home is a 15 minute ride from Reagan Airport and a quick easy Uber/Lyft ride to sightseeing spots all over DC, but plan around high traffic times. Highly recommend!
This 2 bedroom, 2 bath with sleeper sofa was a great alternative to staying in a hotel. My two teenage sons and I spent five nights here and explored DC each day. We used Lyft/Uber for transportation, and while in DC frequently used the $2/hr Capitol Bike Rentals. Very clean, sunny, well equipped bottom floor rental with a great view of the back yard and a nice neighborhood.
Beautiful piece of property, located on a very quiet residential street. The accommodations were very comfortable and the apartment was very spacious, clean and well maintained. We have family in Northern Va and are somewhat regular visitors, I think we have found a new preferred place to stay when in the area!!
Lovely apartment, we especially loved the fairy lights in the trees our first night. Muna is a gracious host, making sure we had what we needed and providing information and suggestions. Hope to stay again next year!
This is a spacious bottom floor of suburban home very close to DC. Nice outdoor area as well. Very short drive to DC and shopping areas in VA. Helpful to have a car to stay here although we used Uber mostly.
My family stayed ta Muna's apartment for a spring break vacation. It was all we could have hoped for. Lovely home, a quiet and beautiful neighborhood on a dead end street, and Muna was so friendly and helpful. There is a historical park across the street, we didn't hear any car/street noise, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The full kitchen was also a bonus. Easy 5 minute car ride to the Clarendon Metro. There is a parking garage located across the street on a side street to the metro - it's not huge, but we never had trouble getting a parking spot - it was no more than $10 for a day to park there. There are also street spots, but many are for 2 hours or less. The Metro was very easy - we took it into D.C. every day. We enjoyed several excellent restaurants in the area as well - Liberty Tavern, Fire Works Pizza, Uncle Julio's Mexican Restaurant. I can't say enough good things about Muna or her home. Not sure if we'll make it back to the D.C. area again, but if we do, we will check with Muna for availability first!
Muna's place is a great alternative to the busy hotels in the DC area. This cozy place is about a $10 Uber ride to downtown Arlington and not too far from the DC attractions. Muna is a great host and maintains this place well. It's so nice to have a washer and dryer, and a kitchen to save on food costs. Don't hesitate to stay here!
Went to DC with my sister and stepdaughter for post Inauguration events, and found this home available during our stay. We all fell in love with the place immediately, and as we prepare to depart are already discussing our next trip back. The space is the lower level walkout of a very cute and well maintained ranch style home in a gorgeous Arlington neighborhood. The rental, which by the way IS NOT a basement, is cozy, large and adorable. The walkout view from the fireplace cozy living room/dining is a beautiful and wooded backyard with a large flagstone patio. I could go on but if I make this too long people may skip over! You'll love this place. Perfect for any groups or purpose. You are so close to hip Arlington and just across the bridge from Georgetown and the rest that DC has to offer.
Muna is a warm and endearing host and enhanced our stay. The location is beautiful and was very convenient for us to visit with relatives in Arlington and to explore Georgetown and beyond. The spacious apartment is a walkout basement of the house above but felt very bright and comfortable because of full glass walls fronting a lovely private yard. The large kitchen was wonderful for breakfast and snacks and even for hosting family visiting us. I look forward to staying here again.
This home was very comfortable home which had everything we need for our family of six. Great quite location, but close to everything in DC and easy access. Very clean, and very well furnished. We felt right at home. The host (Owner) was a great and very welcoming and hospitable. We really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend it.
We were so excited to find this apartment in the perfect location for our trip, and we were even more delighted when we arrived & found that everything else was beyond wonderful as well! The apt. is comfortable & inviting, & the kitchen is better equipped than a lot of homes we've visited. And the back yard is so lovely that we wanted to spend as much time there as possible even though we had quite a full schedule planned. We invited friends to come for dinner, or... if we dined out, we would return to the apt. for a nightcap so that our friends could enjoy the magical light show of "fireflies" in the trees. While we were there, we got a nightly sound & light show since the cicadas "serenaded" us & added to the experience. Lee Highway is close & has one of everything. There is the wonderful Italian Store with every sort of Italian delicacy, & Arrowine is one of the best wine shops we've ever visited. We wished that we had come for longer than 4 nights, & we definitely want to return. Not surprisingly, the apt. & garden reflect the owner - Muna is lively & joyful & serene & thoughtful, and we found the gardens & the apt. every bit as welcoming as she is!!! Thank you again!
Muna lives on the upper level and you will be staying in the lower level of a very lovely home. Everything you need, beautiful backyard: we watched deer visit most evening which is amazing to be in so close proximity to DC and yet wildlife are nearby with such a wildlife/nature setting around. 2 bedrooms with 1 Queen and 1 King in each and a pullout couch in the living area. Kitchen has everything you need, nice back porch with table and umbrella to enjoy the backyard. Muna is quiet and very respectful of your privacy. We biked from her place in Arlington to DC daily to see to sights. An amazing park is right across the street which is a quiet neighborhood street you will be staying. Muna took care of the one small issue we had immediately and was attentive but very understanding of letting you have your privacy. The lighting in the backyard is absolutely breathtaking at night, looks like twinkling lights hanging from the trees. Enjoy and yes, we would return again when coming back to DC area.
Great space, well-decorated, delightful host. Well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, top-quality linens. Only problem was the long walk to Clarendon Metro Station. We were quoted a 15 minute walk but it was more like 40-45 minutes, up and down hills. Having a car would make this stay nicer. Giant supermarket nearby. Peaceful, quiet location across from a large park on a dead-end street. Muna was most helpful in all respects.
The retreat was absolutely relaxing, we felt very at home and it was a true blessing to visit our nation's capital and come home to this garden retreat. Muna is a true angel and fabulous hostess!!!!
This 2 bed/2 bath garden apartment was so close to Washington DC! A five minute a Über ride got us there. The setting of the home is beautiful- tree lined property across from a park. The gardens were lovely. We enjoyed sitting outside. The apartment is lovely and was furnished with all the necessities and more! And Muna was welcoming and friendly, but at the same time gave us total freedom to enjoy our vacation.
Muna was a wonderful host! A aromatic plate of chocolate chips awaited us when we walked in the door! The rooms were extremely comfortable; homey, pleasant with everything we needed! The beautiful backyard garden was a wonderful retreat to relax and sip wine after a busy day of enjoying all that D.C. has to offer! Early mornings you could observe the wild life; once we saw a fox! Very kid friendly, too! The backyard was great for getting rid of pent-up energy! Also, a wonderful park was very close by.
We had a fabulous stay for a conference in Arlington. Beautiful home and garden, with wonderful kitchen. Beds were very comfortable, too. Highly recommend this place!
The house is very comfortable and well appointed. Confortab beds, nice kitchen, large bathrooms and beautiful garden. We would highly recommend to others
This garden apartment was perfect for our "3 Sisters Trip". It is just as lovely as pictured and tucked away in such a nice residential area. So much better than staying in a hotel! Apartment was very clean, furnished with everything we could need, and Muna is a pleasure to work with. Our only regret was that we were so busy seeing the sights in Washington that we did not have more time just enjoying the lovely backyard, and the park which is right across the street.
The pictures and previous reviews accurately reflect our experience in this charming neighborhood home. It's a hidden treasure of natural beauty. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Thanks Muna!!
This apartment's location is awesome; close to DC but tucked away on a quiet street. Muna is very sweet and accomodating. The apartment has everything you will need to enjoy your stay. It had plenty of room for our family of 4 to spread out. My kids LOVED running around in the backyard and visiting the park right across the street. Don't hesitate, book the garden apartment; you won't be disappointed!
My husband and I along with our 3 children stayed 3 nights. Muna made us very comfortable and like we never left home. She is someone other renters should follow and mimic. She was very nice and helped us out with a crib which made our stay even better! Beautiful home, beautiful area, beautiful backyard and easy access to Washington D.C. and Arlington Cemetery. Lots of wonderful restaurants near and the icing on the cake was the wonderful park across the street! You can not go wrong with staying here!!! Simply the best of the best!
My husband and I and our 13 year old daughter stayed for 6 nights. Muna made us VERY comfortable and the unit was clean and inviting and everything was there for a lovely visit. We were able to cook comfortably (there's a very well stocked kitchen) and even had our niece over for dinner one night. We highly recommend this property - there are two bedrooms, two baths, plus a sleeper couch that we didn't need. The chocolates, the metro maps, everything was just lovely and we investigated the fort across the street and enjoyed the fireflies. And the owner really wanted to make sure everything was just right. We drove and parked near the metro - it was a bit too far to walk, especially after all the walking we were doing in DC - but it was just a great place for us.
The apartment we rented in this home opens onto a patio and lovely, private garden. Across street is a 19 acre park with remains of a civil war fort. Perfect for runs or walks.
Such a nice place to stay. So close to the city, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Muna was a wonderful host -welcoming with all that we've requested and beyond. Recommended without any reservations.
Muna, the owner of this property is accommodating and lovely. There is warmth and personality in the decor, nothing generic here folks! I love that. Original art and prints, souvenirs from past trips perhaps? All combine to make you feel welcome and curious without feeling like you're trespassing. The garden is resting under a soft layer of snow this season. No matter, the apartment is comfy, large and boasts two full bathrooms, two bedrooms. There is a washer and dryer, which we didn't need, but it was great to know it was there. There's a linen closet with fresh towels and sheets if needed. The fireplace was lovely to come home to in the evenings; a full size fridge, stove, microwave, coffeemaker etc.,- makes Muna's place a fantastic home away from home. Hotels are simply too brutal with kids especially. We travelled with our 3 year old and it was great, I wouldn't do it any other way. Muna had asked us if we needed special accommodations for him, but we actually didn't need it. We parked our car in a convenient spot very close to the house. Also...location, location, location! Very close to DC but also convenient to family and friends in N Virginia. We can't wait to see the garden in bloom, perhaps this spring. Thank you.
