If you prefer to stay home the large deck at the front of the home is ideal for morning coffees whilst the back garden is great for entertaining with a large area for kids to burn off some energy. This bushy walking track takes you down to the Anglesea River, right next to the where the Great Ocean Road crosses it. This is about a 10/15 minute walk. From the Great Ocean Road, its about another 15 minute walk along the river (all on walking track along the river) to the river mouth and beach (and the kids playground). So walking time to the beach is about 30 mins, or five mins by car.brbrSimilarly walking to the Anglesea shopping strip is about 30 mins through Kuarka Dorla but only five mins by car. The shops have lots of take away places, as well as bakeries and an IGA.brbrFrom Murray Street (one street down from Russell Ave and accessible from Kuarka Dorla walking track), if you turn left and follow the hill up and over, you will get to Coogoorah Park. This takes about 15 mins on foot (but warning, the hill to get over is a steep one if you are doing it on foot). Coogoorah Park has the most amazing playground, that is a recently renovated ship inspired by the ‘Inverlochy’ that is such a favourite with kids. This park also has some picturesque BBQ spots. The park is also a wetlands for birds and is full of board walks and walking tracks that are so special to explore.brbrAlso, a short five minute walk from our place is the Anglesea Heath. This is a vast bushland that is truly beautiful to walk in, even if you only do a short walk in to it you will be blown away by its beauty. Our place is a classic 1960s beach house - with glass windows providing for a light living space and fabulous sea views back to Point Addis. The house is on top of the hill, being a nice walk downhill to the main beach (approx. 900m) and Anglesea Surf Club (patrolled in summer). We highly recommend 'cocktail hour' on the deck. At times we have kangaroos and even and echidna wandering through the back yard. br brWe have 2.5 levels: br- the ground level has 2 bedrooms: 1 queen bedroom; and 1 bunk room with 2 sets of bunks (4 single beds) brbr- the middle level has a bathroom (with separate bath and shower), a toilet, European laundry with front loading washing machine, sink and dryer, br- there is a spacious master bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite, along with a small desk space that overlooks the garden brbr- the top level has two living spaces which both open onto a large balcony with great views over the ocean. br- the main area is an open plan living room, dining area and kitchen. br- there is also a separate living space which we use as a kids playroom/ TV room. brbrOffice & work space - we have added a small desk in the 2nd living space and a desk with docking station, monitor and printer in the main bedroom area. It overlooks the garden where the kangaroos often wander by. We have found this to be useful in case someone needs to do work or attend a Zoom meeting. br brThe balcony has a large outdoor setting and sun umbrella, along with BBQ cooking facilities. There is also a hot outdoor shower out the back for after the beach. br brThe house is on a large block covered with native vegetation. There are 3 or 4 carspots under or near the house. There is a steep driveway and steps so the property may not suit people with mobility issues. br brAdditional items: brLinen (ie. sheets, pillowcases and towels) are all available upon request. Donas with covers are left at the property. In the past we have catered for smaller children. The top stairs have a series of wooden barriers and there is a security gate that can be attached to assist managing small children.
