Up the stairs to the left, find the Train Room (sleep 3 in a queen and daybed) and the Mardi Gras Room (sleep 2 in a queen). Each room has its own bath, TV, and private balcony. Up the stairs to the right find 4 bedrooms, each with a private bath, TV, and shared wrap-around balcony for outstanding mountain views in every direction. The Kachina Room (sleep 2 in a new king bed) has custom artwork (paintings and hand-carved kachinas), a Kokopelli shower curtain, and leather on woven reed handmade barrel chairs. The extra-large Fish Room (sleeps 4 in 2 queens) focuses on making anglers feel right at home with fishing gear, fish lamps, fish shower curtains, and more. Both of these rooms face the river. Across the hall, the extra-large Indian Princess Room (sleep 4 in 2 queens), done in pink and soft teal, features interesting Indian portraits from the princess to her handsome brave to her wise elders and the warrior shower curtain. The 4th bedroom on this side, perfect for a very romantic couple, is known as the tasteful Bordello Room--done in rich reds and blacks with gold accents. It sleeps 2 in a new king bed. Downstairs find 3 more bedrooms. The Master Suite, known as the Anasazi Room of the Ancient Ones, sleeps 4 in a new king bed and queen sleeper. The decor features handmade baskets, a commissioned painting by a local artist, and rock art style wall decor. This large elegant room, perfect for those with altitude problems, also includes a small private tiled sun porch with a separate outside entrance and a private bath. Outside this door is a 5x8 dog kennel, an extra convenience in this pet-friendly home. The Wildlife Room (sleep 2 in a queen) focuses on the wide variety of animal life in Red River from elk to bears to ducks to deer. This cozy room shares a Jack & Jill bath with the Cowboy Room next door. Done in reds and blues, the Cowboy Room (sleeps 2 in a queen) will delight the wanna-be cowgirls and cowboys in your family. Boots, saddles, 10-gallon hats, horses, six-shooters, and rodeo art blend together in this rustically charming room. All 3 rooms, complete with TV and wood floors, give way to the saltillo tiled living space on the rest of the main floor. The main front entrance opens into a media room with a full complement of DVDs for both kids and adults. The TV in this room works well for those who have brought their own video games and hook-ups. The secondary front entrance opens into a long narrow laundry room with a new gas dryer, a fairly new washer, and lots of space for hanging skis, raincoats, or hip waders. Upon entry of this home, you will see the living room to the right, featuring new living room furniture and a flat-screen TV with a DVD player where you can choose to watch cable or enjoy watching movies brought from home. One of the sofas in the living room is a sleeper sofa and can be used as a queen bed for additional sleeping. Sitting right off of the living room, you will notice a small sunroom -- pull back the shades to enjoy the sunlight on a cold day or to enjoy reading! To the opposite side of the living room, there is a door leading to the accessible garage -- inside you will find the perfect place for the young ones to play. Arnold's provides an Air Hockey and a Ping-Pong table for guests' enjoyment! Just past those rooms, you will come to find the kitchen and dining area. Arnold's River Retreat features a large kitchen with plenty of counter space for as many cooks in the kitchen as you want! The dining room table is located off to the side of the kitchen and has additional seating at the kitchen bar. In the yard, you will find two picnic tables and a gas BBQ grill for cooking out! Let's not forget the fire pit for everyone to enjoy the fire while listening to the river that is just a gate away. Once inside the door there’s a dining room area to your left right next to the large windows facing out on the deck and a half wall separating it from the kitchen to separate the space but still open enough to chat while making dinner. On the other side of the front room is a living room area complete with a gas fireplace for those chilly nights. brOff the kitchen between two of the bedrooms is one of the bathrooms. This bathroom has a stand up shower and a full washer and dryer. To the right is the first bedroom featuring its own smart TV and plenty of closet space along with a comfortable king bed. On the other side of the kitchen are the remaining two bedrooms. To the right is the bedroom with the en suite bathroom with a large sink and stand up shower. The Cabin: During summer its relaxing to sit out on deck around firepit. During winter you can enjoy hottub and watch the snow fall. During winter 4 wheel drive is a must and may require chains if snow gets bad. During winter there is lots of snow that accumulates on deck and may not be usuable. As you enter the 2,230 square-foot log home, you will find that the large Great Room will capture your imagination the moment you walk in the door. The large rock fireplace will warm your heart, your soul and your body.brbrThe new 55 'flat screen TV located in the Great Room will keep you entertained when you are in the mood to kick-back,put your feet up and relax. All of the furniture pieces were designed for comfort and beauty in mind. There are a number of DVD's available for your entertainment.brbrThe adjoining kitchen is equipped with every appliance and accessory you might need. The gas kitchen stove is a high-quality Viking range and oven with a range-top grill , freezer/refrigerator. You will find an additional smaller freezer nearby, as well as an automatic dishwasher, coffee maker and other appliances. The dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses will accommodate 10-12 people. The large dining table is great for eating, entertaining and escecially for playing games such as card games dominios and a host of other games and puzzles. brbrBEDROOMS:brbrThe Master Bedroom is also quite spacious and contains a beautiful log, king-sized bed with a very comfortable mattress. It is a welcome retreat after a full day of fun. All bed linens are provided. A new 40' flat screened TV is conveniently located for easy viewing from the bed. There is a washer and dryer if needed during your stay next to Master Bath. The Master Bath has a tub shower combo as well as two sinks and mirrors. All towels, wash cloths are provided. brbrThe large Guest Bedroom is a lovely, large room with a king-sized bed and other unique pieces of furniture and decorations. For extra convenience we recently installed a private sink in the bedroom. There is also a fair-sized walk-in closet in that room. brbrThe smaller Guest Bedroom with its log bunk beds is great for kids of all ages. The bottom bed has full sized mattress that can easily accommodate two adults and the top bed has a twin size mattress. This room contains a log desk as well.brbrBetween the two guest bedrooms is another bathroom, which contains a stand-up shower with a small bathtub for children to use if needed. There are double sinks and other necessary amenities.brbrOUTDOOR AREAS:brbrAfter familiarizing yourself with the cabin, it is time to explore the outdoor area. Be aware that it is not unusual to see a small group of deer just casually grazing and roaming the property as if it were their own.brbrFrom the Great Room, please use either of the doors located on the wall bordering the kitchen. Turn to your left and head over to the log swing, as you are walking note the fire pit to the right for bonfires at night and in the background a small log cabin for the children to play in. By the time you reach the log swing, if not already, you will hear the sound and be able to see the river waters running at the bottom of a sloping incline. You will also be able to see the beauty of the nearby pond surrounding by high mountains that will reach out and touch your soul.brbrThe deck that runs along the back side of the house also provides you with additional lovely views and take you to the opposite side of the cabin where a larger deck nestles up against the cabin's entry door. If you turn to your right and go down the 3 or 4 steps and out straight across the yard, then look to your right again, you will find a sign indicating the location of a staircase, which will take you to the river that runs along the edge of the property. In winter months 4 wheel drive is a must due to snow accumulation even with roads being maintained. brbrThere is a new propane barbeque available for your grilling pleasure on the north-west deck. A number of outdoor furniture pieces, including as enjoyable log-built swinging bench, mentioned previously, are all available for your enjoyment. There is a very nice picnic table with attached benches on the deck closest to the kitchen as well as a larger picnic table on the ground on the opposite side of the home. brbrFor those who love 'around the camp fire experiences' there is a good sized fire pit with decorative metal guard. There are handmade wooden benches provided. However, if more comfort is desired, feel free to move some of the other outdoor chairs closer to the fire. Please check with local Fire Department to be sure fires are allowed at the time. There are usually signs entering and exiting the main road going thru Red River that indicate the approval level of fire usage. In winter months 4 wheel drive is a must to get to cabin even with roads maintained.
