There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon coastline is varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed.
