Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand

Summary:brbrPalm Views is a beautifully presented coastal cottage set just behind Palm Beach, offering a relaxed, well-located base close to the sand, playground, and local café. Surrounded by established gardens and designed for easy indoor–outdoor living, it’s a comfortable and welcoming home for families and small groups wanting a classic Waiheke beach stay.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrPalm Views is a light-filled cottage arranged for relaxed holiday living, with thoughtful design and a strong connection to the outdoors. Set in a private, leafy position, the home feels calm and settled, while remaining just a short walk from one of the island’s most popular swimming beaches.brbrbrbrThe main living area opens directly to the deck through wide sliding doors, creating an easy indoor–outdoor flow that works well throughout the day. Comfortable seating, natural light, and garden outlooks make this a space where guests naturally gather, whether for shared meals, morning coffee, or winding down after time at the beach.brbrbrbrThe kitchen is modern, practical, and well equipped for everyday holiday cooking, with the dining area positioned beside the sliders so the space can be opened up to the deck and sea breeze.brbrbrbrTwo bedrooms are located within the main part of the cottage. One includes a queen bed, while the second offers a queen bed and a single, making it well suited to families with children. A bright, modern bathroom sits centrally and is easily accessed from the living areas.brbrbrbrA third bedroom with its own bathroom is positioned separately at the rear of the property and accessed externally. This layout works particularly well for grandparents, older children, or guests wanting a little extra privacy while still being part of the group.brbrbrbrOutdoor living is a highlight. The deck wraps around to a covered dining area that provides shade and shelter, and the outdoor shower is ideal after long days at the beach. Views toward the water are present but partially filtered by hedge planting, which has been retained to provide privacy and a sheltered feel.brbrbrbrThe property is accessed via a short but steep uphill path from the parking area, which is important to keep in mind when packing or for guests with mobility considerations.brbrbrbrBed configurationbrbrBedroom 1: Queen bedbrbrBedroom 2: Queen bed and one single bedbrbrBedroom 3 (external access): Queen bedbrbrbrbrPlease note:brbrPalm Views is accessed via a steep 75-metre path uphill from the parking area.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests have private access to the cottage, gardens, decks, outdoor shower, and the separate third bedroom with its own bathroom.brbrCheck-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee, subject to availability.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrPalm Views is perfectly positioned for an easy beach holiday. A short, three-minute walk brings you to beautiful Palm Beach, a sheltered, golden-sand bay loved for swimming, paddle-boarding, sunbathing, and long, lazy afternoons. If you’re planning vineyard visits or dinners out, it’s best to pre-book transport or use the bus network where possible.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrPalm Views is supplied by rainwater tanks, so please be mindful of water use during your stay. Waiheke relies on sustainable water collection, short showers and sensible usage help us conserve this precious resource.brbrbrbrThe property is accessed via a steep 75-metre uphill path from the parking area. Please consider this when packing or if mobility is a concern.brbrbrbrThe outdoor pizza oven shown in older photos is no longer available.brbrbrbrPlease note the hedge height at the back deck out to the water is 1.5meters high as the owners like the privacy from the owners below. This can block out some of the water views.brbrbrbrMinimum stays apply throughout the year:brbr7 nights mid-December to mid-Januarybrbr3 nights on holiday weekendsbrbr2 nights at all other timesbrbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrThe Stay Waiheke team is available every day from 8:30am–5:00pm, with after-hours support for urgent issues. Mawhiti - Architectural Beachfront Estate

Waiheke Island, Auckland, New Zealand

Summary:brbrSet above a quiet, privately accessed beach with uninterrupted views across the Hauraki Gulf, Mawhiti is a high end architectural home designed for privacy, space, and unhurried coastal living. Composed of connected pavilions and finished with contemporary New Zealand artworks, the home suits discerning groups who value design, outlook, and a sense of calm close to Oneroa.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrMawhiti is an exceptional architectural home designed by Stevens Lawson Architects, arranged as a series of light-filled living pavilions linked by covered walkways and oriented toward the sea. High vaulted ceilings, natural materials, and a restrained interior palette create a calm, composed atmosphere that feels intentional and quietly luxurious.brbrbrbrAt the heart of the property is the main living pavilion. Floor-to-ceiling glass and wide sliding doors open fully to the deck, allowing the living spaces to extend outdoors and keeping the connection to the water constant throughout the day. The lounge is arranged around an open fireplace, while the chef’s kitchen is fitted with quality appliances and supported by an extended scullery that keeps preparation and storage out of sight. Multiple indoor and outdoor living areas allow guests to gather together or find quieter corners to relax.brbrbrbrThe architectural design intentionally complements the Gateway Pavilion, an architectural sculpture originally created as New Zealand’s submission to the 2012 Venice Architectural Biennale and later commissioned for Sculpture on the Gulf 2017, which the owners acquired for the property. Contemporary New Zealand art and sculpture feature throughout the home and sit naturally within the architecture.brbrbrbrFour large, equal-sized bedrooms are positioned in their own private wings, each offering strong separation and privacy. All bedrooms feature super king beds, luxurious ensuite bathrooms, and direct outdoor access to private courtyards with sea outlooks. Morning light, sea air, and uninterrupted views define these spaces.brbrbrbrOutdoor living is an integral part of the experience. A large entertainment deck provides space for shared meals and evening drinks, while smaller sheltered areas invite quiet moments throughout the day. The property slopes down toward a quiet, privately accessed beach below, offering a rare sense of seclusion while remaining just minutes from Oneroa’s restaurants, vineyards, and ferry.brbrbrbrBedroom ConfigurationbrbrBedroom 1: Super-king bed + ensuite + private courtyardbrbrBedroom 2: Super-king bed + ensuite + private courtyardbrbrBedroom 3: Super-king bed + ensuite + private courtyardbrbrBedroom 4: Super-King + ensuite + private courtyardbrbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests have full private use of the entire home, all decks and courtyards, outdoor entertaining areas, and the private path leading down toward the beach. Parking is available on site.brbrbrbrCheck in is from 2:00 pm and check out is by 10:30 am. Early check in or late check out may be available for an additional fee and will be confirmed closer to your stay. These options cannot be offered when there is a same day guest changeover.brbrbrbrHelicopter access can be arranged on request and is subject to conditions and prior approval.brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrMawhiti sits just a few minutes from Oneroa Village, offering a rare balance of seclusion and convenience. Oneroa is the island’s main village hub, home to cafés, galleries, boutiques, and essential services, all set along the curve of the bay.brbrbrbrFor breakfast or coffee, Wai Kitchen is a long standing favourite with views over the water, while Akito offers refined, plant focused dishes and excellent coffee. Solar Eating House is a relaxed daytime option with a sunny garden setting well suited to slow lunches.brbrbrbrEvenings are easily spent close by. The Oyster Inn is known for polished coastal cooking and a relaxed dining room overlooking the bay, while Fenice offers classic Italian dishes in a comfortable, unfussy setting.brbrbrbrFor vineyard dining, Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant and Cable Bay are both a short drive away and are well regarded for long lunches, tastings, and harbour views. For something more casual, The Heke provides relaxed food, craft beer, and an open garden atmosphere.brbrbrbrDespite the privacy of the setting, beaches, village dining, vineyards, and ferry connections are all close, making it easy to explore during the day and return to the quiet of the property in the evening.brbrbrbrGetting Around:brbrThe closest bus services run through Oneroa Village and connect to the Matiatia passenger ferry, Palm Beach, Onetangi, and the island’s main vineyard routes. Buses stop near most major wineries, including The Heke, making it possible to explore without driving.brbrbrbrFor guests with a vehicle, parking is available at the property and access to Oneroa and the island’s main routes is straightforward. Taxis, private drivers, hire cars, e bikes, and scooters are all available on the island.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrEco design and natural coolingbrbrMawhiti is a deliberately designed eco home and does not have air conditioning but does have a Dyson Hot + Cool fan in each room and an indoor wood fireplace for use in winter. The architecture is intended to work with the coastal environment rather than against it. During the day, the home is designed to be opened up to allow sea breezes to move through the pavilions and for warm air to escape naturally via the high ceilings and wide openings.brbrbrbrIn the evenings, we recommend closing the house at dusk. This is when mosquitoes and small insects can be more active, and closing the doors helps keep the interior comfortable. On particularly warm nights, doors can be left open if you prefer, however to minimise insects coming inside we recommend keeping interior lighting to a minimum, as lights are what tend to attract bugs.brbrbrbrThis home is best suited to guests who appreciate architectural design, natural airflow, and an indoor–outdoor style of living, rather than a sealed, air-conditioned environment.brbrbrbrMinimum stay requirements apply. Bookings require a minimum of seven nights from Christmas to mid January, three nights on holiday weekends, and two nights at all other times.brbrbrbrPets are welcome on request only and must be approved prior to booking.brbrbrbrEvents are not permitted at the property.brbrbrbrThe home runs on rainwater tanks, as is standard on Waiheke Island, so guests are asked to use water thoughtfully during their stay.brbrbrbrInteraction with Guests:brbrOur team is available seven days a week from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with after hours support for urgent matters. In the event of a life threatening emergency or urgent property issue such as fire or medical emergency, please call 111 immediately. For other urgent concerns outside business hours, please use the after hours contact number provided in your check in information.

Summary:brbrOverlooking the calm waters of Putiki Bay, Putiki Estate is one of Waiheke’s most substantial private estates. Designed as a lodge-style retreat, the property combines scale, privacy, and resort-level amenities with a layout that works equally well for families, groups, and boutique corporate stays. Wide decks, expansive entertaining areas, and uninterrupted bay views create a setting that feels elevated yet relaxed.brbrbrbrThe Space:brbrPutiki Estate sits across landscaped grounds that unfold toward sweeping views over Putiki Bay. The main lodge is arranged around generous living zones with high ceilings, warm timber finishes, and natural light throughout. This layout works equally well for family stays, hosted events, and staffed retreats. Multiple dining spaces, both inside and out, allow groups to gather comfortably or spread out as needed throughout the day.brbrbrbrOutdoors, the estate functions as a private resort. A heated swimming pool is positioned among palms with views toward the bay, while a nearby spa pool offers a quieter place to unwind. The full-size tennis court is set with green and water outlooks, and a private courtside bar creates a relaxed setting for afternoon drinks. A pizza oven, outdoor fire, and BBQ kitchen extend evenings naturally without the need to leave the property.brbrbrbrAccommodation is spread across eight ensuite bedrooms, each styled with soft linens, calm colours, and a peaceful outlook, giving every guest comfort and privacy. A separate guest house provides additional space and is well suited to staff, grandparents, or guests wanting their own retreat. The estate is also equipped to host boutique corporate stays, with AV equipment, whiteboards, and multiple breakout areas available.brbrbrbrBed configuration:brbrBedroom 1 - king bed with ensuitebrbrBedroom 2 - superking bed (can be split to singles on request) with ensuitebrbrBedroom 3 -superking bed (can be split to singles on request) with ensuitebrbrBedroom 4 - queen bed with ensuitebrbrBedroom 5 - queen bed with ensuitebrbrBedroom 6 - superking bed (can be split to singles on request) with ensuitebrbrBedroom 7 - superking bed (can be split to singles on request) with ensuitebrbrBedroom 8 - superking bed (can be split to singles on request) with ensuite.
