Summary:

Palm Views is a beautifully presented coastal cottage set just behind Palm Beach, offering a relaxed, well-located base close to the sand, playground, and local café. Surrounded by established gardens and designed for easy indoor–outdoor living, it’s a comfortable and welcoming home for families and small groups wanting a classic Waiheke beach stay.

The Space:

Palm Views is a light-filled cottage arranged for relaxed holiday living, with thoughtful design and a strong connection to the outdoors. Set in a private, leafy position, the home feels calm and settled, while remaining just a short walk from one of the island’s most popular swimming beaches.

The main living area opens directly to the deck through wide sliding doors, creating an easy indoor–outdoor flow that works well throughout the day. Comfortable seating, natural light, and garden outlooks make this a space where guests naturally gather, whether for shared meals, morning coffee, or winding down after time at the beach.

The kitchen is modern, practical, and well equipped for everyday holiday cooking, with the dining area positioned beside the sliders so the space can be opened up to the deck and sea breeze.

Two bedrooms are located within the main part of the cottage. One includes a queen bed, while the second offers a queen bed and a single, making it well suited to families with children. A bright, modern bathroom sits centrally and is easily accessed from the living areas.

A third bedroom with its own bathroom is positioned separately at the rear of the property and accessed externally. This layout works particularly well for grandparents, older children, or guests wanting a little extra privacy while still being part of the group.

Outdoor living is a highlight. The deck wraps around to a covered dining area that provides shade and shelter, and the outdoor shower is ideal after long days at the beach. Views toward the water are present but partially filtered by hedge planting, which has been retained to provide privacy and a sheltered feel.

The property is accessed via a short but steep uphill path from the parking area, which is important to keep in mind when packing or for guests with mobility considerations.

Bed configuration

Bedroom 1: Queen bed

Bedroom 2: Queen bed and one single bed

Bedroom 3 (external access): Queen bed

Please note:

Palm Views is accessed via a steep 75-metre path uphill from the parking area.

Guest Access:

Guests have private access to the cottage, gardens, decks, outdoor shower, and the separate third bedroom with its own bathroom.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a fee, subject to availability.

The Neighborhood:

Palm Views is perfectly positioned for an easy beach holiday. A short, three-minute walk brings you to beautiful Palm Beach, a sheltered, golden-sand bay loved for swimming, paddle-boarding, sunbathing, and long, lazy afternoons. Here you’ll also find a great children’s playground, public BBQ area, and Acadia Restaurant, which is ideal for relaxed lunches and dinners by the sea.

The Palm Beach Store is a local favourite for ice creams, takeaway coffee, and quick essentials, while the broader neighbourhood places you within a five-to-ten-minute drive of Oneroa Village, the passenger ferry at Matiatia, the vehicle ferry at Kennedy Point, and the wineries that define this part of the island. Mudbrick, Cable Bay, and the Heke Brewery & Distillery are all close enough for an easy afternoon outing.

This is a quiet, leafy area where days naturally fall into a simple rhythm, beach, food, rest, repeat.

Getting Around:

The nearest bus stop is on Palm Road, just a short walk from the cottage. Buses from here connect directly to the key island routes, including Palm Beach → Oneroa → Matiatia Ferry Terminal, making it easy to explore without a car.

These services also pass by, or stop close to, many of Waiheke’s most popular vineyards, including Mudbrick, Cable Bay, Te Motu, and the Heke Brewery & Distillery.

Parking is available at the bottom of the access path, but taxis and rideshares can be limited during peak times and are generally expensive on the island. If you’re planning vineyard visits or dinners out, it’s best to pre-book transport or use the bus network where possible.

Other Things to Note:

Palm Views is supplied by rainwater tanks, so please be mindful of water use during your stay. Waiheke relies on sustainable water collection, short showers and sensible usage help us conserve this precious resource.

The property is accessed via a steep 75-metre uphill path from the parking area. Please consider this when packing or if mobility is a concern.

The outdoor pizza oven shown in older photos is no longer available.

Please note the hedge height at the back deck out to the water is 1.5meters high as the owners like the privacy from the owners below. This can block out some of the water views.

Minimum stays apply throughout the year:

7 nights mid-December to mid-January

3 nights on holiday weekends

2 nights at all other times

Interaction with Guests:

The Stay Waiheke team is available every day from 8:30am–5:00pm, with after-hours support for urgent issues. For any life-threatening or property emergency, like fire, always call 111 first.

We had a brilliant stay at Palm Beach. The Stay Waiheke team were responsive to all our needs and checking in and out was easy. A beautiful location just minutes from the beach. The walk up the hill track is worth it.

Great stay. Clean and well equipped. Would have been good to know the batch could only be accessed by a rather long path. It’s a shame the hedge was too high to see the seaview.
