Pristine outdoor pool overlooking Little Lagoon, fishing and a quick 3 minute walk over the dune to the ocean. Tortuga Sunset has so many things to offer for a great vacation!! Little Lagoon is like glass, great for kayaks (fishing on the Lagoon) and paddle boards with an easy launch site. I provide contact information for local rentals for beach items, kayaks and paddle boards with free delivery and pick up to the cottage front door! The dock has a large area with benches and swings to enjoy sunsets with a cocktail. Fishing is great and the dock is just steps away ....reds, speckle trout are just a few of the fish in the area. brbrThe pool is also steps away and a nice break from the sand. It looks out onto Little Lagoon! The pool usually isn't crowded. There is a 2 foot platform with bubblers; a fun place for toddlers and grandkids to play. The cottage has a balcony with water views of Little Lagoon. There is morning shade on the balcony, a great way to start your day with a cup of coffee!brbr If you are looking for rest and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of high-rise condos still within close distance to restaurants, shops and entertainment, this will be perfect vacation for you! There are great five star restaurants with outdoor dining and live music just down the street. brbrOur private beach access it is a quick 3 minute walk from the cottage. Once you walk over the dune the ocean is right there. Situated in a small neighborhood of mostly owner occupied homes, this great home shares a very cool lagoon front pool with the neighborhood and shares a lagoon fishing dock too! brbrPOOL brYou bet. Guests of OGP5 have access to the community pool, right on the lagoon! Bonus, there is a small lagoon side beach right by the pool, along with a fishing dock! The pool is 24x14' big, and 3-5' deep!brbrBEACH ACCESSbrOGP 5 has access to the small lagoon side beach by the community pool, and it is only a short walk of less than 1/4 mile to the beach the 13th street public beach (next to my Seafoam home!). These is a pedestrian cross walk to help you get across West Beach to that public beach too! PLUS there is a back trail from near our home to access all the fun and fishing at Calloway Bridge too! brbrPARKINGbrThere is available onsite parking for 4-5 vehicles. brbrWIFI/INTERNETbrYES! We have an awesome Eero mesh network to ensure excellent wifi coverage throughout this spacious home. Spotty coverage is always an issue for big places. Sure internet may work next to the router in the living room, but what about the far reaches of the home! That's why we installed a multi-node mesh network. And what's the internet like It is generally rock solid and ran 250Mb down the last test--sufficient for several simultaneous video conference sessions for remote work and education. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests troubleshooting it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!brbrSOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETCbrAs with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a starter supply of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well. brbrPETSbrWe do consider well-behaved canine furry friends. This requires owner pre-approval, and is subject to a pet fee (currently $250 per pet). Please inquire. Subject to restrictions which often vary by season. It has 10 foot ceilings with crown molding, is professionally decorated, and has wonderful gulf views from most rooms, including 4 out of 5 bedrooms!brbrAdded a propane gas pool heater, so YES the pool is heatable to a maximum of 82' (the high side of recommended rec pool temps) to take the chill off! This service is by request in advance with a nightly surcharge (varies by season and with gas market price, has been $60-85 per night, just inquire, and must be for length of stay (this is based on market pricing for propane gas, and can change at any time, both up and down, until added to a reservation). Fee subject to change due to incredibly high gas rates right now. Internet is, of course, an amenity and subject to service provider outages (and guests troubleshooting it), especially with the havoc the sand and salt wreak on cabling and facilities, no more so than any other home on the beach though, and likely better since its close in and new construction!brbrSOAPS, TOWELS, COFFEE, ETC ETCbrAs with most beach homes in the area, the local mgt co provide what they call a starter supply of soaps, toilet paper, and paper towels, etc. Enough for the first night to get you going! Please plan to bring or purchase additional supplies, and any cleaning or pantry supplies you may need, or to make a quick run to the store (or have it delivered!). You will want to bring beach towels or beach chairs as well. Because mgt cos will not generally support them, grills are not provided, though they are sometimes inherited from prior guests: your mileage may vary on this, and we usually assess and then go snag a small charcoal kettle when we come down ourselves. Also of note: at many locations, you may find the bunk beds (and certain other beds) are not fully made--instead a bedding pack is provided. This is a common practice for the local management companies, which is both green (if the bedding is not used, it doesn't have to be laundered) AND more sanitary--housekeeping does not have to crawl on the bunks and so on to make the beds. Also also... all our homes have drip coffee makers and most now have Keurigs as well. brbrPETSbrWe do consider well-behaved canine furry friends. Our Beach Bungalow is the perfect place for a beach getaway! Come enjoy Alabama's beaches the way they used to be. The Rookery unit 1701 is located 14 miles down Fort Morgan Road, away from all the high-rise condos in Gulf Shores. You can enjoy uncrowded beaches, nature trails, wildlife, and plenty of room to relax. Just a short 10 min walk to the beach!brbrOur Beach Bungalow is the perfect spot for your beach vacation! This cute beach cottage has hardwood floors throughout, comfortable seating, 3 flat screen TVs with over 140 HD channels, games for the kids, DVDs to enjoy, free wireless internet, and much more! The master bedroom has a king sized bed and private bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen sized bed and bedroom #3 has 2 sets of full/twin bunks. There is plenty of space for families of all sizes! Bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and kitchen towels are provided. A few extras are added in to make our guests feel at home (starter supplies of garbage bags, dish soap, laundry packs, toilet paper, and paper towels). The unit has a full sized washer and dryer to make laundry easy.brbrThere are 2 swimming pools and a spa to enjoy. The largest pool is a zero entry pool that is perfect for splashing, sunbathing, and swimming. The pool is just steps away from your front porch. Golf carts are allowed, so bring one and enjoy easy access to the beach or rent one when you get here! BBQ grills and picnic tables are scattered throughout The Rookery, so bring your charcoal and grill out. There is a large tennis court and lots of space to park your boat or golf cart.brbrThere is plenty to keep you busy in the area. There are several golf courses to choose from, Wave Runner Rentals, Water Parks, Gulf Coast Zoo, Putt Putt Golf, Dinner Cruises, Shopping at the Outlet Malls and The Wharf, Various Festivals (seasonal) & Night Life.
