Our cottage was completely remodeled in 2022 thanks to Sally. We have just added a new cargo lift to help with heavy items (guests must abide by listed rules and are responsible for any damage due to irresponsible use). brbrLee Lee's cottage sleeps 7 people comfortably (1 newer memory foam king in master, 1 newer king and twin memory foam beds in 2nd BR, 1 double/twin bunk in 3rd BR, and new leather black sofa with double recliners, and newer leather loveseat. Newer smart TV in living room, all bedrooms have a smart TV (master has only Roku stick, guest room has brand new smart tv, Bunkroom has brand new Smart TV. If you need to stay in touch with the real world bring your laptop-we provide free wifi. The new kitchen with granite and soft close new cabinets is fully equipped and lots of room to make family meals together. Brand new oven/range with air fry feature. Dual coffee maker works as regular carafe or single K-cups. Both bathrooms have been remodeled-master has walk in shower with removable bath seat. Storm door with dog door. Full size washer and dryer is off of the kitchen. brbrWe love all dogs of all sizes and breeds, but guests are responsible for any and all damage caused by your dogs. If they sleep with you, guests must bring your own linens. Guests must tell us about their dogs (2) at the time of reservation-there is a $135 non-refundable fee per stay (not per dog).brbrThere is a propane grill under the house. Plenty of seating on upper deck as well as under the house. There are chair cushions in the storage boxes on upper deck and under house box. Please put cushions back in box before leaving or during bad weather. Winds in Ft. Morgan can be quite strong. Please bring your own beach towels. There is a good collection of beach toys in storage closet on the ground level, if you want nice beach chairs please bring your own.brbrRecombinant exercise bike in bunk room closet as well as 2 adult bikes in toy closet--USE AT OWN RISK (might need minor maintenance due to salty air). We do have security cameras onsite-they are all outside. For June/July need to have Saturday-Saturday bookings. Please treat our home as your own-this is our retirement home-not just a vacation rental :)

Be sure to pick up a trail map when you visit the center so you know where to go.brbrbrbrEnjoy a round of golf – Kiva Dunes is ranked one of the top public golf courses in Alabama per Golf Digest and Golf Advisor.brbrbrbrTake the Mobile Bay Ferry to Dauphin Island – This ferry runs daily from early morning to afternoon. It’s a beautiful ride across Mobile Bay and provides great views of Fort Morgan. The Dauphin Island ferry dock is located conveniently close to wonderful attractions like Fort Gaines and the EstuariumbrbrbrbrVisit Fort Gaines – While you are on Dauphin Island, visit this historic fort which paid a significant role during the Civil war. Big Blue is a spacious private home tucked away in Surfside Shores, a private beach neighborhood with trees, vegitation and sand dunes. A 5 to 10 min walk to beach access, but close enough to the shore to hear the ocean when out on either of the two large decks at the back of the house. brbrWe are just a hop down the road to Tacky Jacks and Sassy Bass restaurants in Ft Morgan and the new Jessie's by the Bay in Gulf Shores. If you would like some exercise, take a walk directly down our beach to the Sassy Bass Island Grill at the Plantations right near the water. brbrbrHome Layout:brbrThe first floor has a master bedroom in the front of the house and the washer dryer. The back of the house faces the gulf, and the pool. Both bedrooms in the back of the house have french door access to the large back deck. The back bedrooms are connected by a large Jack and Jill bathroom with a rainfall shower. brbrThe second floor has a wide open floorplan with the kitchen and living room sharing the same space. In the front of the house, the second master bedroom has a large closet space. The kitchen has french door access to the large top deck for outdoor dining. brbrWe have stocked the kitchen well with a ninja blender, toaster, a drip coffee maker, modern fridge with ice maker. Pots, pans and cooking utensils and plenty of plates and utensils. brbrThe staircase to the crows nest is on the second floor and our young guest love this unique space with the twin bed, small foldout foam couch and writing desks. Gorgeous vintage wood floors, open concept, lofty 10 ft ceilings, 4 chairs and a couch, and 75” TV make you feel at home. The space feels very spacious. Two balconies overlook the lagoon and have outdoor furniture and one has gulf views. Perfect for 2 large families to share this spacious 2250sq ft duplex. Includes a full kitchen with a large refrigerator and grill area plus washer/dryer. Free parking/5 cars. WiFi included. Two master suites with king beds, TV, a private bath and walk in closets. The upstairs master also has a futon in the room that sleeps 2 more, crib, dedicated workstation so you work while you vacation and a balcony overlooking the lagoon with outdoor furniture. The third bedroom has a queen bed and a balcony with gulf views. There is an open bunk room with a double bunk bed and another single bed. All rooms have a TV! The upstairs bathrooms were updated in 2025. You can fish, crab, kayak, canoe or boat from the dock (must bring your own equipment). There is a covered BBQ grill, so you can catch and cook your own dinner. The BBQ area also includes a table and chairs. There is also a small backyard that you can use to set up games. There is a children’s pool, a regular pool and a hot tub. The pool deck has lots of loungers and chairs to enjoy. The pools and hot tub are only shared by 8 units. The unit is located on a side street so you avoid all the traffic and is located a block from the nearest beach access and 2 miles from the main beach. You can enjoy evening walls on the new walking paths. There is a restaurant, convenience store, and ice cream parlor a block and a half away. The kitchen is fully stocked with lots of plates, utensils and cookware. This is not one of those units where you only get one plate or glass per person. There of plenty of each!! It features stainless steel appliances and a pantry to store all of your food. It has a Keurig K cup and standard coffee maker. The dinette area sits 10 plus a high chair. Plenty of room for the whole group to enjoy a meal together. This unit has it all with its large size unit in a small complex, views from the balconies, amenities, walking distance to the beach and peace and quiet. No spring break groups. No smoking. No pets. Pool only heated during spring and fall months. For guests with babies, the unit has a crib in the master bedroom (located within a large master closet) and a high chair. Bring your own sheets. If you have a small child that is highly active, you may want to bring a gate.
