Stayed May 4, 2023This was our families first time to Dominica and we didn’t know what to expect but from the minute we arrived at the villa we were blown away! The views from the villa are spectacular!!!!! With that beautiful sea breeze we didn’t need air conditioning! The rooms were excellent with enough bathrooms and toilets for the 5 of us no problem, Everything you need is in the kitchen from washing machine to microwave etc just fantastic! Chris the owner kept in touch from begging to end and Gweneth the villa manager was just wonderful nothing was to much we loved to just getting to know her and this beautiful island had are guide Nigel who became part of the family take us around who was absolutely brilliant 10/10 is not enough to describe the villa the people the Island would be back in a heart beat miss it all already.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The access roads to Calibishe are dangerous (narrow and winding) and therefore it is not easy to circulate. But the place is beautifull and people are very nice.

Stayed Jul 7, 2025The views were amazing and the breeze made it just fine without air conditioning. The villa was quiet and perfect and no one wanted to go home. Dominica is beautiful and the people are really kind and friendly. Next time we’ll hire a local driver because the roads are not for tourists.

Stayed Jun 19, 2025A great house overlooking a beautiful bay in a very quiet area. There is a patio with views to the ocean, a surprisingly cold plunge pool, and everything you need. Tons of space too, for our family of four. No AC, but you don't need it! Constant ocean breezes kept the place cool and bugs away. You can go to the bay below, but the ocean is not very swimmable there. No worries though there are several drivable beaches nearby, including the amazing Batibou beach. We would go out for the day and enjoy the wonders of this amazing country. It was nice to know that upon returning, there would be this great pool, views, and breezes. Very relaxing! There is a small grocery store within walking distance. It had everything we needed, your results might vary, but if you are open-minded, you might be shocked by how awesome Dominica is! There is also a great restaurant you can walk to, Poz, and Calabishie with more restaurants is a short drive away. I probably wouldn't recommend trying to drive from here to attractions in the southern part of the island, but there is enough to do up north to warrant 4-5 days. If that is your choice, then this is a great house!

Stayed Mar 28, 2025We enjoyed a week at Villa Vista. The house is situated just above the coast with a beautiful view over the ocean and surrounded by tropical vegetation. You can walk down to a lovely little beach where a beautiful river flows into the sea where you can swim in crystal clear water.Although it was a very windy week we were able to spend most of our time on the terrace. Calibishie is a lovely village with friendly people and some good restaurants, although shopping facilities are limited. There is a market on Saturdays in Portsmouth, half an hour's drive away.If you are looking for nature and tranquillity .... is the place to be.

Stayed Feb 22, 2025Property was great and exceeded our expectations. Communication was great. The view is absolutely spectacular. The property is clean and pictures are close to accurate with some minor changes to the furniture and bug netting in the bedrooms. There is a small store within walking distance. I would not hesitate to stay at this property again should we return to Dominica.

Stayed Jan 25, 2025We arrived on the 4:30 p.m. flight into Dominica out of Miami. Once we went through customs and the rental car process it was getting dark. Just a heads up, when it gets dark it goes to lights out quickly. Chris, the owner, had sent me an email with information, I realized to late that I had forgot to click the link with the complete driving directions.Sorry Gweneth, the manager, for many calls when we kept driving by the Villa. After a long day of travel, we arrived and had no provisions for dinner. I had reviewed restaurants ahead and knew POZ was nearby. When I called he was gracious to cook us a meal yet that evening. We also recommend driving a few minutes down the road to the village of Calibishie which is easy to navigate, here there are several dining options, if you should find yourself in the same situation as we did.O & A market is right at the corner of the Villa Street which had plenty of provisions, very clean, neat & organized store. The Villa's open air with inside louvers is on a very private setting. We enjoyed many adventures around the island but saved a few days to relax and enjoy the amenities of the Villa. One evening we hired a chef to come cook a 5-course meal. The Villa setting worked perfect. We choose to sit on the stools positioned by the open-air kitchen setting which allowed us to chat with the chef while she prepared our delicious farm to table meal.If we should return to the island someday Villa Vista will be our top choice!

Stayed Jan 16, 2025Such a great property. Definitely one of the nicest on the island. A great place to come back to after our daily adventures. The ability to open up all the windows and let the breeze in made up for the lack of air conditioning which is normal here. The space was great and the ability to walk down to the beach. The path is steep but only a short walk. The only thing I would say the house needs some improvement is to update some of the kitchen supplies, sharper knives and just some things missing, etc. As a family of five with kids we ended up eating in a lot of nights and cooking so we gave the kitchen utensils a work out Definitely check out the O and A mini mart at the end of the road at the house, they have most of your basic supplies to make a meal. Overall our stay was amazing and nothing short of an adventure!

Stayed Dec 25, 2024Our stay at the villa was absolutely wonderful. Chris went above and beyond, proving to be the best host we've ever had. He made check-in and check-out effortless, allowing us to fully enjoy our vacation without any interruptions. The villa offers breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and even a small black sand beach accessible via a trail right from the property. A small convenience store is just a 7-minute walk away, and the local town, only a 5-minute drive, with plenty of small ocean-view restaurants and bars. The property manager was also fantastic—very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this villa and would definitely return in the future!

Stayed Jan 4, 2025After extensive research of accommodations on Dominica, Villa Vista was the only choice for me. This decision was based on the view, the size of the house, and the private pool. Lots of space to be together or alone. Very comfortable. Also, a significant number of positive reviews are always a plus. There are multiple choices of restaurants and small stores nearby to get adequate supplies of what we needed. Blackbeards Goat Farm was a surprising highlight and The Chocolate Factory are both minutes away.Chris, the owner, and Gweneth the manager, were always accessible and friendly to answer any questions. If I’m back in Dominica, Villa Vista will be my choice. January temperatures were pleasant with no significant bug activity. Pleasant breezes.During our seven night stay we drove ourselves around most of the island twice and down to Scott’s Head. Red Rocks near the house was also a highlight. There’s so much to see and you can’t see it all. So we made sure to reserve two days just to relax at the house and enjoy the view, and the people of Calibishie.Thank you to Chris and Gweneth for insuring our stay was comfortable and welcoming.
