Charming country house on the hills north of Lucca with stunning view

Our family of six (five adults and a baby) just returned from a truly unforgettable 7-night stay at this extraordinary country house north of Lucca. The views are simply breathtaking...rolling hills, ancient churches, and a medieval hamlet stretch as far as the eye can see, and no photo can capture the magic of sitting by the infinity pool at sunset.The house is a beautifully restored 1700s farmhouse that blends authentic Tuscan charm with modern luxury. Every corner is immaculate and thoughtfully designed. The living spaces are spacious and inviting, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the bedrooms are elegant, comfortable, and serene. Staying here feels like inhabiting a true Tuscan mansion.Our hosts, Dario and Monica, were beyond welcoming. Their warmth, attentiveness, and helpful guidance made everything effortless and enhanced every aspect of our stay.From al fresco meals on the patio to peaceful strolls through the nearby medieval village, every moment felt magical. This property is the ultimate Tuscan retreat, perfectly combining beauty, comfort, and authenticity. We cannot recommend it highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit.

It is hard to describe how incredible this stay was. We stayed as a family of six adults, and the home was a great space to be together while allowing each person to have their own space. Location-wise, you are at the base of the quintessential Tuscan hamlet, San Gennaro, and then close (5 min drive) to Collodi, a bit larger and hidden mountain village. The views from the home are unbeatable as well. Dario (owner) and Monica (property manager) were two of the best hosts we have ever encountered. If you are debating whether or not to stay here, consider the decision made.

Wonderful time, Villa was perfect for our group that spanned 8-78 years old. Pool was perfect. Monica and Dario were welcoming and helpful. Sad to leave!

Our stay at this Lucca hills country house in late May/early June was magnificent! Dario was an outstanding host and Monica the house manager was incredible. They were very helpful and replied promptly to any questions. We loved this part of Tuscany and will definitely be back. Grazie mille Dario and Monica!

House was super clean and comfortable. Assistant Monica was incredibly helpful and kind and spoke some English. She not only gave great information but dropped off a cake for my daughters birthday. The home had all the conveniences of home along with much more. This was super conveniently located and close to Lucca and Pisa. An hour away from a few more line Florence and CinqueTerra and more. Comfortable for ten. Great little restaurant close as well. We really enjoyed our stay. Cheers We will be back.

We were so excited for our stay. The pictures on the listing were gorgeous and somehow the home and views are even more breathtaking in person. I cannot recommend this home highly enough. The caretaker Monica was so kind, gracious and is an incredible cook! We cannot wait to return soon.
