The hiking, mountain biking and rafting are great in the Salida area now. Or sit on our gigantic deck and enjoy the Mountain View.

Beer more your thing : The Sunflower Cottage is located within just a few blocks of SoulCraft Brewery or Tres Litros so after you walk along the river, have a brew and relax and enjoy the Salida scene.

If you live in the Denver area, you should skip the I-70 traffic fiasco and come to Chaffee County for a more realistic Colorado old-time experience.

A rare combination of vintage Victorian and modern amenities in a cottage setting. Perfect House to visit for those who want to enjoy the Heart of the Rockies, Salida.Wi-Fi included. Due to the antique furniture nature of the property, it is not recommended for rambunctious children. Short-term rental license number 0344.

This 120 year old home has been entirely remodeled with attentive care to re-use the original molding where possible. The two-bedrooms sleep six. The upstairs bath includes a claw foot tub and shower combination. The lower bathroom, down a flight of stairs has a shower, sink and toilet only. The kitchen was re-modeled in 2006 as we popped the top to make the ceilings 10 feet tall. It includes a customer handmade, wood topped island. New carpet in 2014 and 2024. Corner Lot. Huge deck in the back yard to sprawl out on and sit under the elm tree. Beautifully landscaped corner lot. Laundry facilities on-site.

The house was great. It was nicely remodeled and had the space we needed for a family of four.We loved sitting on the back deck and playing board games in the dining room. The fenced in yard was nice for our dog.It was stuffy and warm the first day but like others said after opening windows and running some fans it became comfortable the rest of the stay.To have access to the garage would be nice to store equipment like bikes. We loved Salida.

We really enjoyed our week long stay at this lovely old home. It was stocked with everything you could possibly need, including a full spice cabinet! It’s centrally located so we could bike wherever we wanted to go in town. The beds were comfortable and there was a nice, large modern bathroom on the lower level. The master bedroom had a room air conditioner which we needed on a few of the evenings. This house was clean and very thoughtfully appointed. We will definitely stay there again!

We really enjoyed our time in Salida! The house was exactly as pictured; it was comfortable, stocked well, and had plenty of room to spread out. The outdoor area was very spacious as well - the deck was great for morning coffee and the yard was huge, and our dog had more than enough space to play outside. It was an easy 8-10 minute walk into the heart of town, which we enjoyed. We will be coming back again!

We loved our stay at the Sunshine Cottage in Salida. They house is lovely with thoughtful decorations and comfortable furniture. The large patio and yard is great to work remotely from or lounge in. Easy walking distance to downtown. We highly recommend staying here and look forward to going back in the future!

This is the second time we stayed in this house. It is a great house that is in a wonderful neighborhood. We stayed in the same place last year and found it just as clean and comfortable as in our previous visit. Acces was easy and we were a 15 minute walk from downtown. We visited in July and while it was very warm during the day the house stayed very comfortable. It has a great patio and we were even visited by a young buck one day.

This property was phenomenal. It was just as it was listed. It was clean, the location was perfect, walkable to town. Need to bring your own bikes and water toys. One note, the shower/bathroom, is downstairs in the basement. There is only one bathroom on the main level. It was not a big deal though. We saw lots of deer walking around the neighborhood. It was a lovely lovely getaway.

This is by far the best vrbo we have ever stayed at. Often on arrival the house seems less than the photos but here the house was even better. It was so charming and welcoming. We loved it and will def reuse every time we come to Salida. The only suggestion is on the listing mention that one bathroom is downstairs. My husband is handicapped and can't use a clawfoot tub shower. Using stairs is hard within a railing on both sides. But honestly we would have come anyway and made it work. It's just important info to some people.

This property was a great fit for our stay to get ready for our daughter's wedding. We were only about 10 blocks from their house and had room to spend time with them and some friends both inside and out on the deck. I created all the desserts in the large kitchen and had plenty of space in the refrigerator for everything. My only disappointment of our stay is that the listing stated air conditioning, but only in 1 bedroom and it was a portable unit with the exhaust mounted in the back bedroom window. Coming from the midwest, air conditioning means throughout the entire house. I should have known it might not be that way in Colorado. The evenings were pretty cool, so opening the windows helped. Overall it was a great stay.

My husband and I and another couple stayed in this cute cottage while rafting and hiking in Salida. It was conveniently located to all the best restaurants and shopping, and the rafting on the Arkansas was an easy drive away. The cottage was cutely furnished with everything we needed. Beds were super comfy and bathrooms were very nice. Our only complaint was that the AC was only in one bedroom, so the other bedroom tended to get a bit warm, but we were there on a very warm week, so it's usually probably fine. We will definitely book again!

This property was the perfect stay for our wedding weekend. We were very busy the whole weekend - in and out of the home prepping for the wedding and it was so easily accessible. Beautiful backyard and large patio that allowed us to relax with family and also enjoy our morning coffee. Being dog friendly was just a perk! Can’t give this location enough stars!
