Stayed Feb 5, 2026The home is very clean, secluded, cozy, and has a great view from the back Lanai. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay, it was very relaxing far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is close to the green and black sand beaches, and not to far from Volcanoes National Park and the Captain Cook monument. The temperatures are moderate at this elevation with nice breezes from the trade winds. The host was very kind, friendly and very responsive to our needs.The property has everything you need to make meals and even has a propane BBQ on the Lanai. Stayed Feb 19, 2023Lovely private spot to live like a local. Get away from the touristy areas. Not fancy, but has everything you need. (No microwave). Ed was a great host and a fountain of knowledge for spots we would never have found on our own. Highlight is the shower looking out over the trees and feeling like you’re in the forest.

Stayed Jul 30, 2022After an initial logistical mix-up, we had a wonderful stay in Discovery Harbor. This property is an excellent getaway far from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Roosters will be your alarm clock, and there is a wonderful view of the ocean down below from the private balcony. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a secluded, off the beaten bath, tropical getaway.
