Stayed Mar 1, 2026100/10 my most favorite vrbo stay yet. The garden is gorgeous, such a peaceful and wonderful place to explore. Ka'haiya was so nice and very responsive. The unit was immaculate, very clean with literally everything you could need. Clearly a lot of love and time has been put into making it such a cozy, unique and fun space. I travel alone and it's honestly the safest I've ever felt staying here. The big lounge chair on the lanai was my selling point originally, and it did not disappoint. I loved sitting out there to read, just sit and listen to all the birds or night sounds, and especially enjoyed watching the sunset in the clouds. The location was good for me because it was nice and quiet and not too touristy. Nice drive to go up the west side to get to more touristy things if that's your jam. I would love to stay here again if I come back to the island, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a safe and comfortably place to relax.

Stayed Jan 17, 2026Everything was clean and tidy and very welcoming. The host was very organized and gave great directions. The apartment was well laid out. We cooked some of the host's organic eggs every morning in the kitchen and there was plenty of space to eat at the table or sit on the couch and read. We loved sitting on the Lanai and looking at the stars, and it's only a few minutes to Green Sand Beach and the amazing South Point!

Stayed Feb 19, 2026We had a wonderful stay at Halawai Haven. Ka’Haiya was a lovely host. She was always responsive to any need we had. Due to a storm on the island the power went out for several hours and she was quick to reach out and supply alternative light sources and water. The place was very clean and comfortable. The gardens are gorgeous. We chose this location to be near a few of our favorite stops, a nearby coffee farm, the Punalu’u Bake shop and the Punalu’u Black sand beach. Volcanoes National Park was also less than an hour away. We also love Hana Hou a nearby restaurant! If you are looking to stay on this part of the island I’d highly recommend staying here!

Stayed Jun 20, 2025We had a lovely stay. The property was gorgeous. Lovely gardens and outdoor spaces. Inside had everything we needed and was so beautifully put together. Made us feel at home, away from home. There was even fruit and eggs for sale at the fruit stand. The host was super easy to communicate with.

Stayed Jan 9, 2025We had a great time exploring Ka’Haiya's beautiful property, exploring the southernmost tip of the US, and being lucky enough to have an eruption occur at Mauna Loa while we were there. Ka’Haiya is a gracious hostess and we enjoyed all of our interactions.
