Stayed Apr 14, 2022The beach access and arrangement of the house were great! They were very few people on the beach besides us. For food you have to drive into Newport but that was fine. Be warned that the driveway is a little scary to turn onto from the highway. The real thing that we missed was a washer/dryer... I understand why they don't want folks washing all of that sand into their drains, but I really wish I could have washed all that sand into their drains... Note that they're pet friendly but they do ask you to keep the pets off the couch, which is not something my pets are trained to do....

Stayed May 15, 2026Great rebuilt house. Location was quiet and and tucked back on a private driveway - this really is the exceptional hidden away part. Views were awesome. The private beach access and less populated part of the coast were excellent. We will definitely consider coming back to this one. Great place overall. I always appreciate when these reviews and real about stuff so here goes... There were some ants and a bit of dog hair, but those were not an issue for us. You have to wash the dishes yourself, but again, we don't mind doing that. The deck and steps outside will likely need some work soon. The garbage was not picked up when we came and the top was left open for some crows to spread it around. I cleaned it up, closed it, and put a rock on it. Turning at the driveway can sneak up on you as it's just a house number sign. I got honked at by some impatient folks who had trouble with the idea that I didn't take a right angle turn at 55 mph.

Stayed Jan 9, 2026The house was delightful. I was disappointed the the stairs were not clearly marked nor was there any kind of railing. We couldn’t get down to the beach. BUT, when we accessed the beach from Lost Creek SP, we finally saw the stairs and where they led. They were very deep so not good for us. But we would rent there again for sure.

Stayed Dec 27, 2025Great views and clean house with amazing beach access! I would point out that sleeping up in the loft will be very difficult for most adults and young children and I ended up sleeping in the living room for my own safety. I would rent the house again for sure.

Stayed Dec 22, 2025Renting a beach front cabin in December probably wasn't the best idea, especially for the price we could have rented a hotel room on Nye beach for half the price. Some of the amenities in the kitchen could be upgraded, for example the toaster only toast bread on one side so you need to do it twice, the coffee maker is kind of a cheap one, if you make too big of a pot the grounds end up in the pot. The refrigerator is nice I looked new worked great. The beach access is not for anyone with any physical limitations, it's very steep and slippery when wet. I am 5'7 130 lb and the shower stall was very cramped for me, not sure how somebody who is over 6 ft tall could use it. It has a nice wood burning stove which if you come in the fall or winter you will need, it heating the cabin up very quickly. The town of Newport is only 7 to 10 minutes away there's a lot to do there. It's great that it's pet friendly, our dog really enjoyed the beach which wasn't crowded at all at this time of year so she could run loose. Overall we enjoyed our stay there just thought it was a little overpriced for what you get.

Stayed Dec 10, 2025OCEAN ESCAPEWe stayed at this property from 12/10 – 12/18 and enjoyed it.Excellent location; halfway between Waldport and Newport, sitting on a low bluff overlooking an empty and expansive beach (at low tide). The path to the beach is not for the mobility impaired but myself (70) and my wife (69) had no issues. Just a short drive to Lost Creek allows easier access to the beach. As other reviews mention, the home could stand a little touchup on some things. It looks like all the windows are relatively new and do a lot to keep the highway noise down during the day and at night there is very little traffic on 101 so it becomes a moot point. The sunroom windows do get dirty from the rain and ocean spray, so keeping them clean for the best views is recommended. Heat is provided via electric baseboard heaters that will if given time warm the entire home, but there is a wood stove close to the center of the main room that when a good fire is stoked will help with any heating issues you may have. The kitchen is equipped with a large refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster. And all the utensils needed to cook.Even though there is a neighbor on the south side of the home we didn’t even notice them.Binoculars are also provided for your ocean viewing. It is a perfect location for a couple, or couple 1.ProsLocation, location, locationSolitudeBeach accessViewsCommunications with the property managerConsNo laundry on propertyHintsGet firewood before arriving

Stayed Sep 7, 2025Loved the property. The second bed in the loft is a little small but worked. The rock path to the ocean is steep and difficult to climb. Would be much better to have hand rails. The view is absolutely amazing and quiet but it is a struggle to get down the rocks..

Stayed Aug 8, 2025this house was really great for our stay. it's oceanfront with beach access (seems unique for the area from what we could see during our beach walks). the house is a bit rundown probably, for like a HGTV type standard. but if, like us, you're interested in the house for the other things it offers then you won't be disappointed. it was a comfortable stay! we really enjoyed it. wish we could've brought our dog on our trip, she would've loved this place!

Stayed Jul 10, 2025We had a wonderful time. It was quite foggy, which from what I understand was from a storm front out on the ocean and was not typical to be that dense. Other than that, the trip was absolutely amazing. We even decided to stay an extra night and owners were very accommodating.Watching the sunset from the two chairs halfway down to the beach path is a must. The pathway from the house to the beach can be a little tricky. The first half is not hard but the second half is made of large rocks and you do have to carefully work your way down. The bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

Stayed Mar 25, 2025The listing was quite misleading about how the property was pet friendly, the management company was fine, but the house was near a busy highway, did not have an enclosed porch or deck and the steps to the beach were precarious for dogs on the leash. There were inoperable bits, it was not terribly clean, and this overall look of the property came off as run down. The back wall, that faces the ocean had dirty windows and no way to clean them. It was pretty meh and made me feel like I overpaid for the two nights stay.

Stayed Feb 15, 2025This beach house was a wonderful getaway. It was very stormy so we didn’t go to the beach much but there was plenty to keep us cozy and entertained. We were very impressed with the streaming selection for TV. The bed was incredibly comfortable. The switch for the patio lights didn’t work but we found an extension cord and got to enjoy them. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Sep 18, 2024Had a nice stay at this location. The beach access was great. Private, and quaint. Road noise was loud, and because its a dog friendly location it did have a bit of a dog smell to the house. Other than that, it was good. Was nice to be out of the town proper, but close enough to necessities.
