Stayed Jul 31, 2025This place is a must stay! Very cozy home away from home nestled in the perfect woodsy location. Check-in/out process was easy. Everything was clean and well stocked. Even the kitchen has all the essentials, along with a washer and dryer. The hosts really care about their guests down to the little treat and a note they left to welcome us. By far one of the best places our family has stayed.

Stayed Jul 4, 2025The atmosphere as soon as you walk in is excellent. It is a small area on each floor, but everything is very well laid out and we didn't feel cramped at all. Everything we needed was there...coffee maker, microwave, fridge, stove, washerdryer and all utensils we required. The location of the house is right across the street from the Fox Hollow trail which was great. It is a popular trail and well worth the trek. Also, it has some decent smallmouth bass fishing and there is a great pool for it roughly 5 minutes down the trail. I caught about a 2 pounder on our last day there and it put up a great fight...it was released unharmed. There is also a charcoal grill which we used just about every day as I enjoy grilling. If you want to eat out there are MANY places in the area to go so you definitely will not go hungry. For shopping we mainly used Weis on Willow Street...nicely stocked, but there are many places to shop in the area. Not far away either...15 minutes. Highly recommend Appel Butchers...we got great NY Strip steaks and T-bones from there and the Coffee Bacon is AWESOME!!!!!! Also, the smoked kielbasa! So many historical places to visit in the immediate area and Gettysburg is only about an hour and 15 minutes away...worth it. Our favorite in the area was President Buchanan's Wheatland. The tour was great, and the history was as well.Tom and Amanda...Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. We had a great and relaxed stay. We will be back!

Stayed May 2, 2025My husband and I stayed here for a short getaway. Everything was great, from the location to the amenities in the house. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit the area. Be sure to get some fresh ice cream from the Pine View Diary, then walk it off on one of the many hiking trails!

Stayed Jul 12, 2024The house was very cozy and well maintained. It was close to many walking trails and creeks. Check in and check out were very easy. Hosts were easy to get a hold of. Shower pressure was great- a lot better than some other places we have stayed. The only draw back is if you are looking for complete quiet. During the day there was a lot of traffic up and down the road. I would highly recommend staying here. Our whole experience was fantastic!

Stayed May 25, 2023We had a lovely memorial weekend at the trolley house, but unfortunately, there were various factors that negatively impacted our stay. We would have appreciated if the listing had disclosed that the bedroom is on the third floor to plan ahead for accessibility needs. The second floor had a distinct rotten egg smell throughout our stay, which we suspected came from one of the radiators needing to be cleaned. We knew due to the historical significance of this location the building would not have the best infrastructure or window/door seals, but the third floor bedroom was absolutely crawling with ants, spiders, moths, etc, all over the floor and on the bed. It was evident the place wasn't properly cleaned before arrival due to the squashed bugs left all over the floor, walls, and the cobwebs throughout the house. The bed itself was so squeaky it was difficult to sleep uninterrupted. Finally, though the house is situated on a back road, we were up all hours of the night due to heavy motorcycle activity on this through street. We did enjoy spending time on the porch swing, and the house had a plethora of books, magazines, and games for all ages. The binder of local attractions was very thorough and we enjoyed the complimentary whoopie pies!
