Tucked away on 68 private acres of untouched forest in Princeton, West Virginia, The Palace of Dreams is a secluded cabin retreat designed for guests who crave peace, nature, and a touch of magic.

Originally built by my grandmother and father in the 1960s—with stones pulled from the nearby creek—the cabin has deep roots and family history. In July 2025, we completed a full renovation, blending the property’s rustic charm with thoughtful updates and modern comfort.

Recent upgrades include:
• Full interior repaint for a clean, refreshed feel
• All new furniture and room-by-room redesign
• High-quality bedding, linens, and curtains throughout
• Brand-new kitchen appliances, cookware, dishes, and silverware
• A cozy new coffee bar setup
• A refreshed fire pit area for stargazing and evening hangs
• Professional cleaning team hired to ensure top-to-bottom care for every stay

The cabin’s layout is simple, warm, and full of character—perfect for couples, solo travelers, creatives, or small families. Whether you’re sipping coffee on the porch, exploring forest trails, or unwinding by the fire, this is a place to slow down and reconnect.

🌲 What to know: Access to the property is via a half-mile gravel driveway that winds through the forest. It’s part of what makes the place feel so private and peaceful—but guests should be comfortable driving on rural roads. The cabin is surrounded by woods and wildlife, with strong cell service and reliable Wi-Fi. While the Wi-Fi generally works great, rare outages can happen due to the remote location.

If you’re looking for a stay with soul—not just a place to sleep—The Palace of Dreams welcomes you. Come experience the peace, the privacy, and the care we’ve put into every detail.

We loved the cabin!! The road was a bit tricky to access, but that was due to the huge amount of rain during our stay and our vehicle. It was clean, just as described, full stocked, and wonderful. Thank you for a place to make memories with our family! We met the cleaning crew, polite and pleasant!

We had a great stay at this cabin. It is a cute, cozy place tucked back in the woods, which made it very peaceful and relaxing. The property was clean and well maintained, and everything was exactly as described. Communication with the host was excellent throughout the entire stay. They were responsive and easy to work with. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I take numerous trips throughout the year because he works away and it help us to spend more needed time together. We absolutely enjoyed this place because it's such a cute little cabin not far from town and it's such a peaceful location tucked away in the woods. Oh and we also took our baby(dog) Bruno and he had such a great time swimming behind the house in the creek. He's a lab so he does love water! The host was incredible throughout our whole stay and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some relaxing peace and quiet!

This unique property was absolutely fantastic! We traveled with our 2 large puppies and they had a ball in the creek behind the house! The host was responsive and he had everything there that you could need! We are already looking forward to going back as soon as possible to stay again! The serenity was perfect. I was looking for somewhere for my husband to disconnect from everything for our Anniversary. We had a wonderful time! Getting in and out of the driveway was quite the adventure too! Loved every minute of it!

Absolutely loved our time at the Palace of dreams. A lovely quiet hideaway in the mountains for a peaceful weekend. We took the dogs up for our anniversary and barely left the property. We spent the weekend hiking along the creek with the dogs. Everyone had a blast. The house was very cute and rustic while still having modern amenities. The drive up to the house is a little scary in our mini van but we made it! Just make sure your car can handle a bit of off-roading.

Needed a quiet place to stay in Princeton WV while working a job there for a couple weeks. This place was an absolute gem! Nice and cozy remodeled cabin in the woods. Definitely off the beaten path, but well worth the find. Would love to stay there again if the time and place called for it.

What an amazing spot! I’d you’re looking for a quiet spot in the trees, look no further. Christian was responsive and helpful. We enjoyed exploring the surrounding mountains, the bbq, a campfire, and a movie on the big screen tv when it rained. We will definitely be back!

We were very disappointed with our recent stay, for numerous reasons. To be fair, the host was responsive in his communication prior to and during the stay. Said it would be an adventure to get to the property itself (which it was). He also tried to resolve our primary issue - internet service. We discovered upon checking in that the internet service wasn't working, which we immediately told him. He contacted the provider next day and was told that it was working now, and asked us to verify. Still not working...upon which he then told us that a technician couldn't come out until 3 days later - the day before we checked out. As business owners we needed to get some work done online each day, and we like to watch Netflix at night, so not having internet service was unacceptable. The day before arrival we were told the dishwasher wasn't working. We didn't know that A/C was only in the main room, not the bedroom - opposite side of the cabin. The provided fan didn't have a knob to turn it on, therefore useless during a hot week in early July. The bathroom smelled, and the shower curtain had pinkish mold along the bottom edges. The floor was sloped very noticeably too. We left after staying two nights and checked into a hotel 15 minutes further away. We felt a full refund was deserved but requested a credit for remaining 3 nights, which he didn't feel we were entitled to. After nearly two weeks, Vrbo made up the difference between his offer and 3-night amount...can't recommend!

We absolutely loved our stay at Palace of Dreams! The stream beside the cabin provided relaxing sounds and the small watering hole was so refreshing to hang out in…truly one with nature. Christian was great with communication and made check in and check out super easy! We will definitely be back!! Thank you again for sharing this awesome space!!

If you’re looking for a unique, off the beaten path type of place to stay while in the Princeton area, this is for you. Just 3/4 mile off Hwy 460, sits what we called “Granny’s Cabin”. Rustic and austere but with all the basic conveniences. Easy access to Princeton and surrounding state parks. Don’t forget to try Dab’s Country Kitchen in Princeton as well. Fantastic food!

This property is the most gorgeous and secluded place we could have ever asked for. We spent a week here and did not want to leave. From the moment we turned on the long driveway and reached the house, we knew this was what we have been looking for. Very quiet other than the constant noise from the running creek and waterfall just behind the house put us at ease the whole time. Our dogs loved running the property. The owner was very easy to communicate with and has done a great job with this property. Highly recommend.

This was a lovely woodland location. And so quiet. We had a wonderful time cooking, talking and going for walks. Blissfully away from computers and TV. (They were available, though the internet was out.) The little house was stocked with everything you could possibly need and the furniture was really comfy. There was a lovely babbling brook behind the house that had rills and waterfalls and made us want to come back in the spring to see the wild flowers and the trees in leaf. Would definitely recommend.

This was by far the best Vrbo we have ever stayed in. The house is homey and quaint, very secluded and scenic. We stayed for 9 nights, and still didn't want to leave. Neat places nearby, Moutain Lake Resort where Dirty dancing was filmed.
