It was a wonderful rental for a reunion of old friends. The layout is a little. The layout of the house is a little wonky with the master bedroom, being the adjoining hallway between the larger part of the house with two bedrooms and one bath and the smaller part of the house with two bedrooms and two baths. The master Room had a bathroom with a tub and no toilet and a separate bathroom. All three parts of the house had separate entrances. The kitchen was adequately provided with a few essentials missing. The owner did go out of his way to make sure we had brand new coffee pots in each Area. Cannot say enough about the outreach from the owner when we sent him questions. The view could not have been more spectacular and the large lawn was available for hanging out or playing.

The view is absolutely beautiful!!! Just gorgeous!!!The house is set up a little odd but I knew that from other reviews and the picture of the layout (which is very hard to make out online). The kitchen was not well stocked for cooking at all. And I’m not sure the person they are using to clean is doing their job completely. There seemed to be some missed areas and the grill was super dirty. One grill did not work at all. The host was so nice and kind. My husband spoke to him once and I spoke to him once as well. I would definitely stay there again if I’m ever in that area.

We had a very good family gathering. Enough bedrooms and bathrooms. Furniture made living rooms cramped. House very well appointed and decorated. Outside decking needs refurbishing. Nice view of the lake, but not a lake house.

The place is beautiful and most of the rooms are quite large. There were enough bathrooms and bedrooms for us each to have our own and their kitchen was equipped with everything including an array of spices. The host was quick to respond and very accommodating.

I think the most amazing thing was the communication with the owner. He was generous in some of the extras he provided and responsive when we contacted him.Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Drove into Burlington a few times. Found the local restaurants and shops. Went to some of the beaches. And relaxed around the house. We got used to the layout of the house and everything worked out just fine.

If you like nautical decor and spectacular views of Lake Champlain, this is the place for you. It has everything you need, great location in South Hero, Vermont (an island on Lake Champlain) and is close to Burlington and Shelburne, Vermont where there is lots to do and see. House and property are very quiet and peaceful.Excellent communication with host.

This was a wonderful property! So clean and had a lovely decor. Since we were traveling to see family we don’t see often, it was great to have plenty of space to sit, eat, and relax. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils, pots and pans needed to cook some nice family dinners. The view from an amazing back deck was perfect. The home is a short drive (20-25 mins) to downtown Burlington so easy enough to go in for dinner or shopping. I would definitely rent this home again.

The layout of the property was a bit awkward. There were 2 'apartments' each with a kitchen, sitting area, 2 bedrooms and 1 or 2 bathrooms. In the middle of these 2 apartments was the 5th bedroom. But you had to walk thru this bedroom to get to the 2 apartments. So basically we were cut off from half of the house until the couple in this bedroom got up. One of the sliding backdoors had a broken lock so we were unable to use this door. The views off of the back deck were stunning for both sunset and sunrise. The space handled 9 of us adults fine for 3 days/nights. We did not cook any meals so I can't really speak to whether or not the kitchen was stocked as far as pots/pans etc. Lots of games which we enjoyed playing in the evenings.

We recently visited Vermont for a wedding in Burlington! Rather than stay in the city we decided to go to South Hero! Well I’m glad we did! I can’t say enough about this rental! It is perfect the view the accommodations for 10 adults was perfect! We enjoyed our stay so much we will definitely be back with children in tow! Seems to have a lot to do in the summer season and I think the kids will enjoy the peace and serenity the area has to offer!

I reserved this property for a small (6 people) group of lifetime friends who meet once a year in a new location. We were so impressed with the beauty of South Hero and the Champlain Islands - our rental is conveniently located to South Hero, it was clean upon check in, with an incredible view of Lake Champlain from the rear deck and dining room. Although the floorplan was a bit unusual, it worked well for our group. Specifically, one of the bedrooms is located in the middle of the house, and while one of the listed bathrooms was equipped with a great bathtub, it did not have either a shower or a toilet, so we elected not to use either room during our stay. The kitchen was well stocked, the dining room table was comfortable, the split floor plan allowed quiet space and privacy for all of us, the brand-new dual set of LG washer/dryers were awesome, and the rear deck provided a peaceful, calming place for morning coffee or happy hour cocktails. The owner was responsive to a few minor issues encountered during our stay, and unfortunately, the BBQ was inoperable. Also, there were a couple of inaccurate amenities listed on VRBO, which I brought to the owner's attention: two (2) BBQ's on the rear deck, and an office printer. There's only one BBQ on the deck, and unfortunately, it was inoperable. Overall, our group really enjoyed this property and the local coupon book was a nice touch. We would gladly return if our travels brought us back to northern Vermont.

We enjoyed our stay! The owner has included some very nice touches that had us out and about in the area, enjoying the beautiful island. We really appreciate him going the extra mile to be so welcoming and accommodating. It helped us to eat and shop local on the island.

The property is very nice, and decorated in a nautical theme. The layout is a bit odd, since one of the main bedrooms sits in the middle of the house, so it’s a pass through area. There are separate outside doors though. We had a few minor issues, but the property manager handled them promptly. The view is beautiful, and the house is not damp because it’s not right on the lake. The house is a bit dated, and could use a coat of paint. Overall we had a great stay.

The view of the mountains and Lake Chaplain was stunning. Our family settled in comfortably for a week's stay. We enjoyed the large table in the dining area, which was the center point for family gatherings. Plenty of space on the back deck for the children to play. Beautiful bathrooms and plenty of towels. We also took advantage of the beach passes provided. The host did his best to address a few issues that included a broken dishwasher, an exterior door that did not close and an un-mowed lawn. All were addressed by the time we left.

Our family, including children and adults, had trouble finding a property on short notice for our desired summer get together on the Champlain Islands. This place seemed like a good deal but when we arrived we discovered it had many quirks. If you only need basic amenities and don't mind oddities, it might work for you. The washer/dryer and beach gear were useful, and the view was lovely. The kitchens were well appointed. However, the property was not a resort with hotel quality amenities as described. Overflowing trash and a broken screen door greeted us. The layout was strange—the largest bedroom was located between two living areas so privacy was problematic. The BBQ didn't work, and despite contacting the owner, no repairs were made during our 5-day stay. The main dishwasher was also in disrepair when we arrived and was not repaired while there. The broken back door's glass was held by duck tape, deck parts were rotting, and a railing loose. The kitchen sink's hot water came out of the cold tap. Beds were not supportive. The owner did offer us a free meal at a local restaurant as recompense for the appliances disrepair but we declined because we had already purchased ample food for our intended bbq (which we had very much looked forward to as central to the joys of our stay.) No contact info was provided for concierge, private chef, or massage as mentioned in guide. In summary the property is well priced for a large family but it was not as advertised.

We are an extended family - 4 generations-who travel together yearly for the sole purpose of all being in one place for a full week. This was a perfect location for this year’s trip. Overall, we loved the house; however, there were a few minor problems that need to be addressed. Our impression was that the owner is not onsite often so minor repairs go unnoticed unless reported. When contacted, the owner responded immediately and did everything he could to make sure we were comfortable and safe. As a family who cooks every meal in the home, we loved the fully stocked kitchen. The washer/dryer was also a welcome addition! A perfect place for our family to enjoy some much anticipated time together, I would highly recommend this property.
