Summary:

Lap pool, hot tub, and a canopy of oaks welcome you to this creekside estate built for entertaining. This contemporary hillside home sleeps 8 in four bedrooms, each with exposed beam ceilings and colorful designer touches. Just 10 miles from downtown Santa Rosa and minutes from Alexander Valley wineries. The gourmet kitchen has everything for cooking with farmers market finds.

The Space:

Spend mornings on the patio as the valley wakes up, afternoons amongthe tasting rooms or hiking Sugarloaf Ridge, and evenings around the firepit with a bottle from the day's barrel visits.

Two distinct living spaces give the group room to spread out. The main living room rises around a dramatic floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace wall, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, and large gridded windows overlooking the forest. A second living area carries a turquoise accent wall and contemporary furnishings — kids claim it while the adults stay by the fire.

The open gourmet kitchen anchors the home with honey-colored wood cabinetry, granite counters, and a curved breakfast bar that seats six. Cook on a four-burner gas stove with two sinks while a second gas fireplace warms the morning. Casual meals land at the kitchen table, formal evenings at the eight-seat dining room. A wet bar, Sonos Playbar, and 65-inch TV with DirecTV round out a media room built for Friday-night arrival.

OUTDOOR LIVING

Multiple decks and patios at different levels maximize the hillside setting, with built-in benches inviting you to linger over mountain and valley views. The rectangular swimming pool — solar heated May through October — features blue tile accents and is surrounded by a wooden deck with lounge chairs, while a wooden pergola provides shade over part of the pool area. Terraced gardens with natural stone retaining walls showcase drought-tolerant plantings throughout the grounds. Fire up the gas grill for outdoor dining, then slip into the private hot tub for stargazing through the oak canopy overhead.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The master suite sets a romantic tone with a king bed, gas fireplace, and sliding doors opening to a private deck, complemented by a large walk-in closet and an attached bathroom with a window-lined jetted soaking tub. The second bedroom features a queen murphy wall bed with periwinkle blue accent walls. The third bedroom provides a queen bed amid sage green walls with its own stone fireplace. The fourth bedroom delights with a built-in queen bed, a queen futon with thick mattress, and direct deck access. Altogether, the home comfortably sleeps 8.

PROPERTY AMENITIES

-- Private swimming pool (solar heated May–October only)

-- Private hot tub

-- Gourmet kitchen with four-burner gas stove

-- Gas grill

-- Washer and dryer

-- Parking for 4 vehicles

Guest Access:

Drop into the private hot tub on the deck, swim in the private pool under its pergola on the terraced stone patio, then warm up by the floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace inside. The whole home is yours, with a gas fireplace, jetted tub, BBQ, outdoor dining, and mountain views from the upper-level balcony. Punch in the keypad code at the door; up to four cars fit in the driveway (the garage is owner-only).

The Neighborhood:

Your hillside retreat sits 10 miles north of downtown Santa Rosa, surrounded by oak woodlands where deer graze in the morning mist. Chalk Hill Estate Vineyards is just 2.9 miles away, with Roth Estate Winery 3.3 miles down the road. For provisions, Molsberry Markets is 3.7 miles away, or try Sam's Market at 3.6 miles for quick essentials. The legendary Pepperwood Preserve hiking trails begin 2.2 miles from your door, while Shiloh Ranch Regional Park offers 425 acres of trails and views 2.8 miles away. When you're ready for dinner, Chalk Hill Cookery (3.7 miles) serves farm-to-table cuisine, or grab casual bites at Homerun Pizza (3.7 miles). This pocket of wine country puts you minutes from Alexander Valley tasting rooms while maintaining the peaceful seclusion that makes Sonoma County special. Downtown Santa Rosa's breweries and restaurants are a quick 10-mile drive when you want urban energy.

Getting Around:

Santa Rosa is about 55 minutes from San Francisco via US-101 North — an easy freeway drive into the heart of Sonoma County. Park up to 4 vehicles in the driveway — perfect for multiple couples traveling together. Santa Rosa is a natural hub for exploring Sonoma County — most of the region is within a 30-minute drive.

Other Things to Note:

Two active security cameras monitor the exterior near the garage and entrance. Internet is available — suitable for streaming and remote work, though speeds may vary. The home stays naturally cool thanks to the oak tree canopy and hillside breezes — there's no central AC, but you'll find the exposed beam ceilings and multiple levels create excellent air circulation. The pool is heated only by solar panels from May through October — outside these months, it's quite chilly for swimming but beautiful to look at. The media room's 65-inch TV with live channels and premium sound system makes for great movie nights. The primary renter must be 21 or older.

Cleanliness could have been better ( lots of cobwebs and dead flies in the tub) but we enjoyed the property.

House was spacious and exactly as in the pictures. Spectacular views from all around the house, and very private. Property is managed by Vacasa, and they check on my stay with automated texts, asking for issues or concerns. However, the automated generic responses were very annoying because it was the least bit helpful. Don’t understand why one would ask for ‘concerns’ if they wouldn’t care to even attempt to resolve it. We found bed bugs in a bathroom in the towels, and let Vacasa know and didn’t hear back from them. It’s an older house and we had trouble finding the thermostat and using the fireplace by the kitchen, and Vacasa responded with “thermostats are generally on the wall” -which wall on that specific property would have been helpful. Check in instructions could be a little clearer, may be add images of the keypad to use. Google navigation is not accurate and stops you a few yards before the gate. It took 40 mins to contact customer support, to get inside the door. Would have rated the house 5 starts if not for the bed bugs. Just stressed about sanitizing all my belongings to prevent bed bugs from spreading to my house.

This home was very well stocked and was a great location for visiting so many different wineries in the area. There were tons of games and the kitchen was well stocked. Negatives were that the house smelled very bad. I tried plug ins and spray but that didn’t help. Leaky windows made it very cold and the house was a bit dated. It did serve our needs though and is quite spacious.

This was an absolutely an amazing place to stay. Our group consisted of 4 couples and Leslie House offered plenty of space for us to relax. The location is isolated but very well located. The amenities were consistent to what is described. The kitchen is outstanding with plenty of counter space. The only issue we had was the Wi-Fi. We understood booking the place it would be spotty but wi-fi was non existence. We were not expecting to watch streaming but checking email was not a possibility either. On top of no cell service, No wi-fi caused issues with our stay. Still waiting on a resolution to this matter.

I stayed with family in August of 2023, there were 8 of us total. The house is beautiful and there are many places to hang out together in a group or spread out and find your own space. The house was well stocked with linens and dishes in the kitchen as well as games and some toys in the game room. It was a great stay with only a couple exceptions. There was no Verizon cell service. There was also no internet although it states in the listing that there is internet/Wi-Fi. Thankfully one person in our group had ATT so her phone worked which is important in case of emergency, we had a toddler with us. She called a few times trying to get help with the internet and was told the internet was spotty but every time we tried to log on to the internet it said there was no connection. It did not ruin our trip but not having a working phone (cell service or Wi-Fi to use Wi-Fi calling) to keep in contact with our other family members was less than ideal. There is no railing off the back pool area and there was a very big drop off so outside was not very safe for small children. If you don’t have small children then it shouldn’t be a problem. If you want to unplug then the internet and cell service shouldn’t be a problem either. The house and views were beautiful and peaceful.

We booked this house for a quick family getaway before school started. The listing said the property was family friendly, and specifically mentioned one of the rooms as being charming for children. The house is large, clean, and nicely furnished. However, we quickly noticed a number of safety hazards that had me very concerned. The most significant was the lack of sufficient railings on the decks and patio. The front balcony is a full story off the ground, and has only 1 horizontal slat that is at least a foot off the floor. The gap is easily large enough for a child to fall through. The back deck off the dining room has a handrail, but no slats, and drops to a stone walkway. Finally, the back patio and walkway have no railing and end at a straight drop of 5-6 feet, followed by a steep rocky hill. A fall from any of these places is potentially fatal, especially for a child. We also found rat traps on the deck and in the house, all in locations that posed a risk to little fingers and feet. Finally, the pool cover was open when we arrived and there were no instructions on how to close it, so it remained open for our entire stay. I would absolutely not recommend this house for a family with active or curious toddlers. It was stressful enough with 2 older kids and a crawling infant. When I contacted the property manager about our concerns, I received an awkward and insufficient response that I can only assume was written by AI.

We had a lot of difficulty with Vacasa. We found that the exterior had not been cleaned before our visit. Pool umbrellas eaten through and bats living inside. Pool deck covered with bat feces. Grill had mice nesting inside. Eventually mice came into the house and we woke up to the kitchen counter covered in mouse droppings, including cabinets and drawers - though we didn't have unopened food anywhere. Vacasa told us they wouldn't clean as we were occupying house. Left message for Tracy - who did not return my call, though she did put a rat trap on the dining table outside which trapped a large bird - but didn't kill it - so we had to killl it as it's neck was broken. Woke up to no running water at 5:30 am on third day. Called Vacasa immediately - at 11:00 I checked back. Took them over 6 hours to come out and reset pump. We had to bail water from pool to flush toilets and melt ice to brush our teeth for our first day of wine tasting. Once the exterior was cleaned by us - we enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The house is nice and the setting lovely.
