This was a really nice place to stay while snowmobiling in the UP. Parking is tight but there was just enough took for a truck and 14’ enclosed trailer. Will stay here again

Very nice place clean and perfect for snowmobile trip with 3 guys. The trail is right across the street. Gas station and bar restaurant right next to to house. Parking is alittle tight I had a 14’ trailer and crew cab truck and that fit perfect any longer might be a little difficult getting in.

The experience was great right from the start of booking! We immediately received an email from the host asking if we had any questions. We came to MI for a snowmobiling trip. The location for trail riding is EXCELLENT. Trail is literally across the street. No issues with hearing snowmobilers or noise at all. Check in was easy. The cabin is well stocked with anything you may need for your stay even children's dishes, cooking and baking utensils, etc. Parking area was great for one large SUV and 27' trailer. Decor is fun and inviting. We had an issue with forgetting something and the host went to the property right away and got it out to us immediately. Great- honest people. Location is perfect for shopping, eating. We will defiantly stay here again!

We came to the Keeeenaw to visit our granddaughter at MTU and to tour the area after several years away. We chose The Miner as it was across the street from places we knew from the past and convenient to places we planned to travel. The hosts have provided a charming renovated apartment with easy access to main streets. It had all we needed for a very comfortable stay. Communications were prompt and accommodating. When we locked ourselves out, the property manager arrived within minutes to rescue us. The 4 star on location is only because it is on a busy street as noted in the description. We knew exactly where it was and were good with the location, but it is definitely not for everyone.

We appreciated this little home in a convenient location to visit with family and friends nearby. It was extremely clean, comfortable, well-equipped, and homey. We hiked the Keweenaw, discovered new places, and revisited old favorites. Loved the copper vibe. Fred is an excellent host, friendly and readily available. Looking forward to our next stay!

We continue to graduate our progeny from nearby MTU, and The Miner has become a favorite place to stay to help celebrate the accomplishment.Always clean, easy to get to, effortless to stay. Everything we can hope for in an area with limited hotel/motel rooms. This time both grandmas traveled with us and they appreciated the one story layout, easy egress and mining-themed decorations!

We were originally supposed to stay at the Miner with this owner but they called us as we were on our way from Wisconsin to ask if we’d be willing to go to a different property for the same price. Portage Center is a beautiful place and my family really enjoyed our short stay. The owner was so accommodating and when I communicated with them the day before our trip asking for a late checkout, they were not able to provide that but offered us a refund so we would be able to find a place that would work better for us. We don’t need to do that as plans had changed and we wouldn’t have one of our family members and our pet with us anymore. After letting the owner know that they refunded our pet deposit. Overall it was a wonderful stay in a beautiful updated rental in a busy place right on the road - so if you’re looking for no traffic going by this won’t be the place for you. There is a view of the water from the open concept living space and there is so much open space. The house was decorated in MTU hockey which was so fitting that we were doing preview day at MTU it our daughter
