Situated on Maui's spectacular north shore, this fairy-tale hideaway is the ideal honeymoon retreat ... We greet you with gorgeous tropical fruit & flower arrangements, some welcome goodies in the fridge, candles, chocolates and, of course, your own private hot tub set at exactly the right temperature!

AND we are organic/ green/ sustainably run - you'll even get to say 'aloha' to our chickens, which give spectacularly yellow eggs! (On that note, please also know that we are a SMOKE FREE property).

This is the 'real' Maui ... it feels far away from tourist crowds, yet is only a 15 minute trip to the nearest great restaurant or grocery store. So lovely to come home at the end of a day ... and sometimes, you'll probably just to stay home right here, and relax! Perhaps you'll eat in, or watch the full moon rise from the coconut grove ... as you soak in your own private hot tub ...

Our location is ideal for exploring the whole island - but you don't have to stay in a crowded tourist area to do it ... 20 mins to Paia or Makawao, 1 3/4 hours to Hana, 70 mins to Lahaina, 45 mins to Kihei, 1 1/2 hrs up to the top of Haleakala etc. Maui is small enough so that you can stay in one place and have the whole island at your fingertips!

You'll have access to our beautiful 44 ft free-form 'jungle' swimming pool (shared with an occasional other guest - you rarely see anyone around) ... you'll have your own private hot tub, lanais, barbecue ... self-catering for your meals ... gather organic fruit ... but, most of all, you'll have access to serenity, privacy and relaxation ... This is the perfect place to bring your sweetie for a spontaneous romantic getaway!

Our guests love their privacy - and so do we. But we're always available 24/7 by cell phone for questions/ emergencies (hopefully none!) etc and are more than happy to recommend sights, restaurants etc.

Huelo is where 'real' people live ... it's a 'real' neighborhood nestled out here in what was once jungle. This is the nature side of the island, with a cool trade wind most of the year - and yes, you'll see a few geckos which look like small lizards. They're 'mo'o' and considered good luck - completely harmless. People drive slowly along our small country road and for those who would like a little exercise, a sunset walk up our road to the Hana Highway is truly exquisite.

No public transit - you'll definitely need a car!

We're very different from a hotel! FREE wifi and guest laundry and parking ... no extra hidden costs.

Also note: we don't do daily maid service, but are happy to supply fresh linens, cleaning supplies etc and we also have a guest laundry for you to use (free).

Our beautiful freeform 'jungle' pool is shared - though you rarely see anyone there as most people are out exploring the island during the day. PRIVATE hot tub, barbecue, lanais etc.

We always take our cue from our guests! We know you value your privacy, as do we - but we're always available by cell# if you need anything.

This region of the island is an outdoor paradise. There are so many things to do in Maui, and all of them can be accessed from our property. You will be minutes away from beaches, jungles, waterfalls, restaurants, and state parks. Everything you need to make the most of a trip to Hawaii.

We're very much a 'local style' neighborhood where people are relaxed, friendly and into the organic lifestyle. ★ Please drive along our small local road very SLOWLY (10 mph or less) as we like to 'blend' into our local neighborhood and be respectful to our neighbors.

We're a jumping off point to our three small local towns - Haiku (15 mins to restaurants & groceries), Paia (a quaint beach town with a modern, fun vibe), and Makawao (a 'paniolo' / cowboy town with a unique Hawaiian flair). Then, of course ... you have golden beaches, giant sea turtle resting places, tide pools, boogie-boarding ... hiking the crater ... exploring the winery, the lavender farm, the goat farm (Surfing Goat Dairy - how cool is that ) ... the famous 'road to Hana' with all its riches ... waterfalls ... bamboo forests ... Maui's beauty will take your breath away. We think it's the most romantic island in the world (and we've lived here for 26 years!

This area is considered Maui’s “North Shore” and is full of lots of boutique shops, restaurants, farmers' markets, and local jewelers. No matter where you wander you are sure to get the full island experience and find something for the whole family.

You will need a car! We recommend a medium clearance vehicle as our gravel road occasionally gets bumpy after rains. (I drive a Prius. How bad can it be ) You'll only need AWD or 4WD if you're going up to Polli Polli State forest.

The North Shore of Maui is something we like to think of as 'the real Maui' - no hotels, no crowded beaches - just Maui, our beautiful island. But it's only a 20 minute drive to the local grocery store, or to the nearest beach, or to relaxed 'local style' restaurants.

We have geckos! We are a totally organic property, so don't spray. Instead, we use cedar oil and pyrethrum, treating regularly every 2 months. But geckos are a fact of life in the tropics, so be prepared to share your space.

Again, please note: WE HAVE NO TV RECEPTION - but we do have great wifi and you can tune into Netfix on the TV set provided, or on your laptop.

We make the security and privacy of our guests a priority and as such request that only registered guests use our facilities. If you would like non-registered guests to visit you while you are here, please make arrangements in advance of your arrival. (We may not always say yes - especially in times of Covid). Mahalo.
