Pohutukawa Lake House. Relax in comfort in our well equipped lake house.

Wonderful! Super clean, spacious, unbeatable views! Host had excellent communication and jept us updated of local lake conditions (one morning lake wasnt swimmable due to some work in the area so they let us know). Also left loads of info about where to eat and what to do. We were not able to get our minivan up the driveway, but it was not a problem to use the lower section of driveway for parking.

We booked this house at short notice, the house was beautifully clean, had everything we needed and communication was fantastic. We attended a local wedding so were delighted the taxi's still came out that far. Super peaceful, lovely woodburner in the lounge and stunning views. Would happily return if we ever wanted to holiday back at Lake Tarawera!

Really enjoyed our stay. Getting up and down the steep driveway was a bit nerve-racking at first, but we quickly mastered it. The host left us some delicious honey from their hives, and we really enjoyed seeing the glow worms on the rock wall behind the house. Loved the views and the proximity to the lake. The house is a bit further from Rotorua then we thought it would be, but all in all, would stay here again.

Pohutukawa Lake House is a fantastic spot. All the amenities we needed to make a great meals, plenty of space to relax and in walking distance from a lovely lake swim spot. Thank you Mike!

A very well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and amazing views. It was lovely to be nestled in the bush … saw lots of birds. Such a relaxing place to stay.

The property suited our group of 6 perfectly. Lovely setting and the house had everything we needed. The driveway was very steep but we parked the car at the bottom and walked up. Enjoyed our stay.

We had three lovely nights in the middle of winter, with the fire going and listening to the birdsong. amazing walks were close by, we could do as little as possible or as much as we wanted. our upstairs room with a view was my favourite chill spot.

Really nice location with heaps of green around and awesome view. Nice house with lots of space, everything was well organised and provided, the owner even prepared the woodburner to be ready to go!

We loved staying in this beautiful house next to Lake Tarawera. It was the perfect place for a family getaway. We loved the wood fire and a fire guard was thoughtfully provided for our two year old. Lots of space and close to the lake for a walk and a paddle. Loved how close it was to the Blue Lake and the Redwoods where we enjoyed hiking and biking. Thanks for a lovely stay.

A lovely home with lots of fabulous views, surrounded by trees. We had a relaxing stay here.

A wonderful treat

This home is perfect and just as described. Clean, spacious, sunny, quiet, and perfectly sited amongst the trees. It has great lake views also. We would stay here again.

Was in Lake Tarawera for a family wedding, and needed somewhere to stay with some overseas family. What a great spot, lovely home and stunning views!! 10/10 would recommend

A lovely spot with pretty view of the lake. It is a bit out of the way, but if you have a vehicle the peacefulness of the location is worth a longer drive. Well equipped with back up towels and kitchen supplies. Vast windows bring the outside in - pretty bird song and every morning we were visited by a small flock of very polite California Quail.

Our family had a wonderful weekend in this lovely spot! The home was clean, comfortable, and well equipped and the location is spectacular. Watching the moonrise and sunrise over the lake was a highlight! Excellent communication with the hosts before and during our stay. Thank you for a great weekend.

Property was easy to find, everything met or exceeded expectation. The driveway was a little tricky for my parents to navigate, but we did receive instructions about that in advance, host was quick to respond to any questions we had.

Lovely place

This property is outside of town. Super peaceful and a beautiful setting. It’s got a rainforest feel to it. The driveway is a bit steep, but you can park our car on the bottom and take the stairs. The place itself was very clean and well equipped. I would recommend this place to my friends and family

Such a beautiful home, in an amazing location. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing ? House was super comfortable and cozy. Had the fire going in the evenings, just enjoyed the location and watching the sun go down in the evenings. Great owner to communicate with, thank you.
