Summary:

Welcome to the Pinebox...our modern cabin on 20+ acres of scenic wooded land, creek, & mountain views...our favorite place! Recent updates: Starlink wifi, carport, sidewalk, paved drive! Minutes from restaurants, breweries & shops downtown Evergreen+countless trailheads & outdoor activities nearby. 20-30 min to Red Rocks & Virginia Canyon Mtn Park, 45 min to Denver...easy access to ski Echo Mtn. Walk the property, explore the creek, or sit on the deck & take it all in! Permit 24-120576STR

The Space:

Other than the foyer, the home is all on the 2nd level above the garage. We store things in there and the garage is not available for parking, but we try to keep it so you can hang out with the doors open and use it as a covered patio or workspace. The bedroom is large and has a king bed w/2 end tables. There's also a dresser for your items. One closet is ours that we keep locked and the other can be used, but is mainly for storage. The kitchen has everything you'd expect, and the counter overhang serves as the dining area. The living room has a good sized couch and chair for lounging. The outdoor patio is a great place for coffee/hanging out/having a drink. This is our favorite place in the world. We sincerely hope you enjoy it and if you have any feedback for future guests we'd love to hear it. We also give discounts for repeat guests and would love to have this be a place you come back to regularly! We have made other interior updates not shown in the photos, but it will be better than what you see in pictures. We are in the planning and permitting process to add a gas fire pit and back deck with a hot tub. We will update the photos as soon as we can get it started and completed.

*The windows are great for views, but the Colorado sun is bright. We have a good curtain in the bedroom so it doesn't wake you up...sun rises EARLY in the summer here. We also just put up curtains in the living area based on guest feedback and requests.

Guest Access:

Keypad on the front door with a back up lock box and you can park anywhere in the driveway or under carport.

The Neighborhood:

The neighborhood is very quiet, secluded, and other than seeing some cars drive by you probably won't see anyone unless you go for a walk on Berry Bush Ln. The homes prior to ours are all unique, and sit on 1/2 to 2 acre lots. Once you get to our place, the tracts are all 20+ acres.

Why we LOVE Evergreen!!!

Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Evergreen is the perfect year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts and those seeking mountain-town charm just outside of Denver. Guests love our location for its unbeatable access to hiking, skiing, shopping, and Colorado’s endless outdoor activities.

• Hiking & Nature Trails: Just minutes from the famous Three Sisters Park, with miles of scenic trails for hiking, trail running, birdwatching, and mountain biking. Other nearby favorites include Elk Meadow Park, Evergreen Lake Trail, and Alderfer/Three Sisters Open Space.

• Skiing & Snowboarding: Hit the slopes at Echo Mountain, just 35 minutes away, for family-friendly skiing and snow tubing. If you’re looking for bigger mountains, Winter Park Resort and Summit County resorts like Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper, and Arapahoe Basin are all within easy reach for world-class skiing and snowboarding.

• Evergreen Lake: A year-round gem! In the summer, enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing. In the winter, Evergreen Lake transforms into one of the largest outdoor ice-skating rinks in North America.

• Downtown Evergreen: Stroll through boutique shops, art galleries, coffee houses, and local restaurants with a true Colorado mountain-town vibe. Farmers markets, live music, and festivals bring the community together throughout the year.

• Outdoor Adventures: From hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding in warmer months to snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sledding in winter, Evergreen offers endless ways to enjoy the outdoors. Wildlife sightings of elk, deer, and foxes are common, making every day feel like a nature escape.

• Day Trips & Access: Evergreen is only 30 minutes from Denver, making it easy to catch a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, explore the Denver Art Museum, or head west to explore all of Summit County and Rocky Mountain National Park.

Evergreen truly delivers the best of both worlds...small-town mountain living with easy access to world-class skiing, hiking, shopping, and outdoor adventure. Whether you’re here to ski fresh powder, hike scenic trails, fish in alpine lakes, or relax with local dining and shopping, this neighborhood puts you right in the heart of it all.

We fell in love with Evergreen the first time we visited. It's our favorite place in the world and our least favorite to leave :). We hope you make as many memories as we have!

Getting Around:

We are surrounded on 3 sides by large acreage lots, and on the north side by 1/2-1 acre lot homes. We HIGHLY recommend 4WD vehicle and other than the great walks you can take, you'll need a vehicle to get around. Gas station, grocery, and restaurants are all within 5-10 min. You can park anywhere on the driveway or under carport...we like to use that space for grilling!

Other Things to Note:

*This is a mountain property and when it snows...it snows. During October through May we HIGHLY recommend a 4WD vehicle. While the driveway is pretty flat, it can get pretty difficult to get out of if you don't have 4WD.

*We have a person who comes by every other week to take trash to landfill. He will access the garage only.

*During the winter months, we have 2 snow plow contractors that come for any snow over 6. There have been times where they plowed and another foot of snow came down. Please watch the weather carefully. There have been times where we have parked at the end of the driveway just to make sure there were no issues getting out in case the plow couldn't come quick enough.

*Please explore! The creek is awesome, and so is...just looking at the mountains & trees. There are detailed maps in the photos and with the check-in items showing the property lines. Our neighbors are very nice, but they don't like people walking on their property. Also use caution as there is a lot of wildlife out here. We've seen bears, deer, elk, porcupines, foxes, etc...

*Starlink is HERE, and So far it has been incredible. To date we've had no issues even in heavy snow.

*Water Quality Notes (Please Read)

Our home uses a private well with a professional-grade water softener, conditioner, and filtration system. The water is safe, regularly tested, and serviced often. Because we’re in the mountains, seasonal snowmelt can occasionally cause a natural, mild sulfur smell in the water. It’s rare, and most guests never notice it, but it can happen from time to time with well systems in Colorado. Although safe to drink...if you’re sensitive to smell or simply prefer, we recommend grabbing a case of bottled water for drinking. Showers, cooking, and everything else remain completely safe and normal. We want you to arrive with clear expectations and that this is a natural part of well water in our area and not considered a refund-eligible issue...but rest assured, it does not affect safety or the comfort of your stay.

*The home is located in a forested mountain setting, occasional insects or small bugs may be present despite thorough cleaning and regular pest control. The natural environment, seasonal weather changes, and surrounding wildlife make this a normal part of staying in remote mountain homes. While we take proactive steps to minimize this, it cannot be fully prevented, and we appreciate your understanding as you enjoy the peaceful, natural surroundings.

Interaction with Guests:

We partner with a couple people that help out when we're not in town. If we are in town, we'd love to meet you!

Wonderful quiet spot away from highways -- you can hear roosters across the valley, crows yelling at each other, jays building nests. We saw mule deer on the way in, and an elk feeding down the hill one evening. Very useable layout, comfy furnishings, great kitchen. One note, there is no ground-level entrance; the apartment is up the stairs from the garage.

We absolutely loved this quiet cabin in the woods of Evergreen, CO! The cabin itself is modern and clean. We loved the high ceilings and the abundance of windows to take in the gorgeous view of the surrounding hillside. The king-sized bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we could need - including a welcome treat from the owners :-). We spent a ton of time on the balcony overlooking the property. We even saw elk not 100 feet from the cabin on our first night! The owners were communicative, but not too pushy. Check in and check out instructions were easy, and the app for the property was a nice touch and handy tool for having all the logistics we needed in one place. Couldn't be happier with our stay, and we will absolutely aim to visit again.

The property was everything it was described as and more. We were greeted by a beautiful large buck and a bunch of birds. Then when we entered the unit there were complimentary snacks and a bottle of wine. The overall property was beautiful.

Wonderful place to stay! It snowed and the Elk came by. It had everything I needed. I accomplished so much on my writing project. But most important the water pressure in the shower was amazing:)

Great getaway home for a couple, located in a quiet, spacious neighborhood about 10 minutes drive from downtown Evergreen. The hosts were very communicative and accommodated an early check in so we could get the long weekend started. Nice hikes and fun restaurants nearby: our faves were Lariat Lodge for lunch/dinner and brews; Wildflower cafe and Muddy Buck for breakfast or a great cup of Joe. The Panorama Point Trail should not be missed for a moderate hike with a very rewarding view! House had bottles of wine and beers in the fridge ready to celebrate the getaway. Good location for staying in or getting outside. Enjoyed our visit and would stay here again!

This is a beautiful remote cottage…perfect for two people! We were looking for a secluded retreat spot and this absolutely filled the bill. The hosts were very attentive but because everything was perfect we never needed their attention. We will use it again!
