This Bay house offers, giant in-ground swimming pool, large plug & play hot tub. fully enclosed privacy fenced artificial turf yard on double lot, massive wraparound deck on front and private primary suite deck on back, tiki hut/palapa, elevated fire pit, top to bottom large outdoor shower, outdoor bar, and more!



Enjoy 360 degree water views (Gulf w/ the long stretch of beach, 2 x canals, Bay, and San Luis Pass w/ Bridge) from the highest level! Furnished with bar w/ barstools, comfortable loveseat and 2 lounge chairs and 2 TVs, this comfortable spot is perfect for hanging out and chillin' with the group or working from home when some privacy is needed.

The 979 Crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by Galveston Island on one end and Surfside Beach on the other. On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time!



Getting Around:

SAN LUIS PASS:

San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized time with family, extended family, and friends!

PUP-FRIENDLY:

Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.



HEATING THE POOL:

The in-ground PRIVATE swimming pool can be heated to 87 degrees during the months of Oct, Nov, Mar, Apr, May for a flat rate of $295/stay plus $49/day. Please make sure to request and purchase this service at the time of booking.



WIFI/TV SERVICE:

Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!



CANCELLATION POLICY:

When booking directly with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in to receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.

    I wanted so much to love this property! The set up and amenities should be amazing. We paid nearly 500 to heat the pool and our last morning a maintenance worker told us it wasn’t set at the right temperature and the light timer was messed up which is why we had no pool lights. The pool had lots of debree along the bottom and edges and was pretty foggy. The hot tub was low and murky and cold. The same maintenance lady said it was stuck in economy mode and why it wouldn’t heat over 89 degrees. When we arrived we found the sliding door and upper room windows wide open. A horrible smell upstairs and when we reached out I was told it was our fault for arriving early and likely the cleaners were trying to air it out although nobody ever did return before check in time. The lcd display on the stove is bad. Making setting temps or seeing timers impossibl as well as the garbage disposal literally fell apart when used and was breaking pieces inside of it. The property really has so much potential but is in rough shape currently.

    Location is nice , place is great just missing couple details , on my opinion the coffee situation takes away from make the place comfy and I know specify on the details to bring your own but is about convenience and feel welcome . I know is not about the price of coffe but the way to make peole feel is important. Exteriors light by pool should be little more lights unless I didn’t find where to turn them on.

    This property is beautiful! It has everything to make amazing memories. Dog friendly and I mean it. We brought or 2 pups with us and they lived their best lives for 3 days. They were so tired when we left, as were we from all the activities. Absolutely wonderful property.

    This home had everything we could have needed! The pool and all outdoor areas were amazing! The inside was very comfortable and enjoyable. The only negative I can say is that if you get queasy easily, this is not the home for you. Anytime anyone was walking through the home, the whole thing shifted, similar feeling to being on a cruise ship. However, that did not deter from us enjoying it 100%!

    The Palapa Pool House was by far the best vacation rental we have ever had the pleasure of staying in! Although we rented the house to spend time at the beach, we never left the house. You don’t need to! The backyard makes you feel like you’re staying on your own private island without the sand, other people’s music, and hassle of carrying all your stuff back and forth. The fence and gates made it so easy to make sure the dogs didn’t wonder off. The bathroom downstairs and wet bar next to the TV patio area made it the ideal place to just chill by the pool. The commercial ice maker was the icing on the cake! One of the kids even asked if we could stay an extra night, they had so much fun. Were there mosquitoes, yes. Were there flies, yes. But you’re on the gulf coast of Texas. You can’t escape them if you spend anytime outside. The only thing I could suggest to the owner is the installation of a fan outside above the couches. Otherwise, 10 stars!!! We will be back!

    I have lived in Houston my entire life and vacationed up and down the Galveston coast many times so very familiar with every beach from Boliver to Freeport. Positives: The property itself is very nice. The outdoor area, yard and pool are spectacular. The home was comfortable with everything you need. The Ice machine was a super nice add on for sure. The enclosed fencing adds an extra level of privacy. Negatives: The mosquitos were some of the worst I have every experienced in my life and made it impossible for the family to enjoy the evening hours outdoors. Once the sun sets, you are swarmed. We spent an hour a day spraying the yard with bug spray every evening just to allow us to grill for 45 minutes. Bring your food as this area of the beach has less grocery stores for last minute items compared to other areas of the coast. When I stay on the coast I look forward to the wind and waves and the sounds of the water. Not at this site, limited wind, no waves, no coast sounds. No trash service, load up all the nasty sacks of garbage and take them to the dumpster yourself in your SUV. The house behind the property is under construction. Saturday morning, 8am, hammering, electric saws, etc. On the other hand, you dont have ability to sleep in as the window coverings let in 80% of the sunlight at 7am anyway. Overall, house and pool are great. Location, not so much.
