Fabulous property, very clean and comfortable, excellent bed and linen, very well equipped. Very much enjoyed our stay.

The property was absolutely perfect for our needs, the fully equipped kitchen, toys for the children, high chair, everything we could possibly need. We travelled over from Australia for our granddaughters wedding which made the occasion very special for us, the bonus being our incredibly relaxing accommodation. So well done to the management of the property - we will be back.Thank you so much for sharing this occasion with us.

The house was SUPER clean at time of arrival. Good property for taking a pet, fully fenced. Kitchen has all utensils required. So cool to hear the ocean while in bed, only a few meters from the beach (note that the property does not have a sea view)Good value for money!

Had a lovely stay here with my fur baby. The house was immaculately clean and well presented. The covered deck was really great and I spent most of the time I was there sitting out there. The beach is just a very short walk thru the reserve and is absolutely stunning. We had some good swims and walks. The facilities in the house were good. Lounge is very comfy and welcoming. Lots of outdoor furniture to while away the time on. Thanks very much Carrie.

Exceptional host and Bach - everything was so easy from booking to our stay. Very family and dog friendly. Had all we needed for a lovely inter generational beach holiday.

The place was so clean and had so much more available than any other places we have stayed at. The lovely back deck to sit under and so close to the beach. This was the perfect place for us to stay at with my older daughter and her husband child.

Excellent facility clean whare beautiful part of the world

Great location and community and amazing beach access. You nearly have the beach to yourself. Beds were super comfy and kitchen was great for feeding our family of 6. Our youngest appreciated the toys. We loved the beach toys and bikes in the garage as well as the lending library on your way to the beach. We’d certainly recommend this vbro for families to enjoy quiet peaceful neighborhood near an amazing beach.

The place was clean. Close to beach and had everything you needed plus more. Ie well stocked kitchen. Had kayaks and bikes to use. Tidy section. Was a quiet local neighbourhood.

Perfect beach house! Carrie is fantastic to work with and was very accommodating to us as new travelers. The beach is as advertised and absolutely amazing! Will try to come back.

Carrie's communication was great from booking to end, and the house is very comfortable and well-equipped, comfortably hosting 6 of us including 3 children for 4 nights. Proximity to the beach is fantastic, barely a 2 minute stroll, and other amenities including shops and playground are also walking distance. The large deck and outdoor space was great for dining and playing. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic kiwi bach experience.

We loved our stay! Our young ones enjoyed the toys and our teens loved the led mirror in the bathroom (many many mirror selfies). The property was clean and the beds were comfortable, we will be back!

We had a lovely break away. The bach was clean, tidy and modern but also had touches of the past, enough to remind me of fond memories visiting my grandparents. It was warm and the beds were amazing! Ka pai.

Home away from home

Despite the very wet and wild winter weather we enjoyed our weekend stay, the house is warm, with the 3 heat pumps and new carpet it felt cosy. Spotlessly clean. Had a few wild windy walks on the beach, last day was sunshine and calm, lovely to see the change. Half hour drive to Whangarei where we enjoyed seeing the Hundertwasser Centre and Whangarei Art Museum, great for a wet day. Loved that we could bring our dog, he loved the expansive beach where he could run for miles.

The Bach is as promised, close to an absolutely gorgeous beach, accessed directly from a small greenway. It’s a cute little older house but quite well maintained and very cozy and comfortable. Everything we needed and more was available for our use. Even in slightly wet weather we didn’t regret this stay one bit, and could have stayed longer very happily.The local market and basic needs are just a short drive or a fifteen minute walk away.Carrie and John were responsive to all of our questions and more than happy to share advice and knowledge.By all means we would book this little Bach again. It was modest but complete and the location and hosts were beyond wonderful.

This property was perfect for our family of four and two dogs. The house is very comfortable and is well furnished with everything you might need. The garden has plenty of room for zoomies and is secured to keep the dogs safe. Just a few minutes away, the beach is within easy reach and there are so many open grassed areas nearby to go for walks or throw a ball around. A small supermarket, several takeaways, playgrounds and a community exercise centre within walking distance are fantastic community facilities and mean that you don't have to leave Ruakaka if you don't want to!

Beautiful home getaway, literally moments from the beach exactly how it is….!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we were so lucky to find this little piece of paradise there was something for everyone to enjoy which made it even more enjoyable from puzzles, games, cards, books…definitely would return for another holiday, thank you once again Bird family xx

A group of us wanted to get away to acknowledge my 55th birthday. The place was better than anticipated. Unique and perfectly placed. Has everything you require and so close to the shops and beach. Looking forward to booking again!

We were there for a family reunion. We rented 2 homes. This one was perfect for us and we caught fish on the beach and the kids had fun. Very well stocked with kitchen gear. Recommend this place.

Second time we have come back to this house. We love this simple house, with its basic and linens.

We had a lovely 3 day mini break for Easter enjoying some stormy weather beach walks, Waipu Carnival and just some good old R&R. Would 100% come back to the bach, it was lovely and clean and perfect for the 5 of us.

Place has been renovated lovely inside, was clean and warm and had everything we needed. Weather was not on our side but managed beach walks in between rain as it's so close to the beach & the fishing from beach was great! Would love to come back in summer

Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, laundry bach so close to beautiful Ruakākā beach. We all - our teens and dog loved it. Unfortunately we didn’t have the best weather to try the BBQ/kayaks but great outdoor shower to wash off after a dip

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was clean and tidy and have everything you need. Close to the beach and other amenities. First time being in Ruakaka area and we enjoyed. We will definitely book here again.

Prefect house with great beds, with everything you could need for an escape outside of Auckland. Plus many cool things to do within a 40min drive radius.

Loved the fully fenced property which allowed us to take our dog away. Air conditioning in 2 of the bedrooms and living room was much appreciated too. Well equipped, secure, clean, dishwasher, plenty of space and top quality linen as a bonus too. The best part was the stunning beach the shortest walk away. Nothing beats that view of white sand and turquoise water and no people as you come up over the sand dune.
