Stayed Aug 2, 2025This was a great week for our family. We enjoyed being right on the water. We put our kayak in the water on day one and left it tied up all week. We spent a lot of time on the water and in the large, shaded backyard. With little kids, it was nice being close to stores in Ellsworth. It was an easy drive to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The view of the mountains, sunrises, and sunsets were beautiful. We also had a porcupine cross the backyard every evening around 7:30pm. The house met all of our needs!

Stayed Jul 26, 2025This was the perfect location for our families! There's so much to explore outside, but also quiet gardens to sit and read. It made visiting both sides of Acadia very easy! They had everything we needed to cook meals and plenty of room for everyone!

Stayed Oct 11, 2024We had a great stay! We were looking for a house a bit out of town with great views to spend time in and this didn’t disappoint! I’d definitely recommend it. The house had everything we needed and the owner was super helpful with questions!

Stayed Jun 30, 2024What a fabulous home! We absolutely LOVED this home. Views were stunning. The private rocky beach provided hours of exploring time for our grandkids ages 8 and 4. And the wildlife was a great surprise. A mom and 2 baby deer walking right across the beautiful yard. Our grandkids didn't want to go anywhere else! House had all you could want to make dinner in the kitchen or grilling. The drive to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor was about 35 minutes away, depending on time of day. Everything was perfect.

Stayed Sep 14, 2023The Hurricane was just a nor'easter for Loon Ledge, but the waves at Schoodic Point--oh my! What a great house in which to see the power of nature. James Mitchell kept checking in with us to make sure we were okay during the storm. On our seven days on Frenchman Bay, we headed out daily for mountain hikes at Acadia and beach scrambles on the ledges and headlands of Schoodic. Loon Ledge was a magical place in which to unwind after the activity of the day. We brought a spotting scope and set it up in the garden overlook to see (17) seals lolling around in the middle of the bay at dusk -- as we sipped some Downeast Cider. Perfection!
