Modern Keystone Home: 4 Mi to Mount Rushmore!

Was a great location to go to the different areas. The rail by the steps was a little wobbly. House was clean and spacious.

A great place to stay. We were there riding our side-by-side in the Hills and was very comfortable and felt like home! Communication with the owner was great!

What a great vacation we had and it was due, in large part, to the lovely accommodations at The Bear Necessities. What a comfortable property, with lots of creative and thoughtful touches throughout. The host is extremely approachable with any comment or need you may have. I’m hoping for another stay here soon.

Such a lovely, tranquil spot to unwind and relax. This is our second time here and we absolutely love it. Everything is perfect!

Very family friendly, and clean.

Loved staying here!! The only thing to note is that you need to bring trashbags, toilet paper, dish soap and hand soap. There were 3 trashbags and a roll of TP in each bathroom, but with 6 adults and 2 kiddos, just not enough. Not a huge deal, just something to know ahead of time so you can be prepared. Beautiful home, very clean and comfortable! The host was very kind and accommodating, letting us check in early and reserving an extra day. There were even games to play which was fun at the end of the day for some extra time together. 100% high recommendation!

House is super clean. Has a nice deck on both the front and the back of the house. Communication with the host was excellent. She was super accommodating!

Wonderful location, close to everything. Our entire family had enough room PLUS! The kitchen was roomy and each bedroom was large. We’d stay there again!

This property is ideally located and offers ample space along with all the features a family could need for a trip to see Mount Rushmore and the surrounding sites. It is quiet, clean, and spacious—everything our family needed after hours of traveling and sightseeing.

Property was nice! we had a good comfortable stay. It was also quiet. Host was very courteous and helpful. If you have never been to the area she has a whole area activity book with descriptions, directions and information.

House was clean. It had 2 nice outside areas - a screened in back deck and open deck in the front. It was very close to MT Rushmore and Crazy Horse which we liked.

There were many special features about “The Bear Necessities”. Before we even entered, the first was having a personalized code for the door. No scrambling for a code, everyone in our group could easily open and lock with our many coming and goings. That brings up the next convenience; location, location, location. Keystone was a perfect home base for our SD exploration. Another unique feature of the home was the cozy back deck complete with grill. Unfortunately in May the weather was not conducive to sitting out. The welcoming interior was cleverly assembled with charm and comfort in mind. I would not hesitate to recommend this quaint getaway to Keystone travelers.

The home had everything we needed to make our stay in the Mount Rushmore area very comfy and convenient.The kitchen was stocked with all the basic cookware, plenty of utensils plates and other tableware. The home was very clean, the coffee makers were kept busy, and the rear covered deck was a nice place to enjoy turkey and deer parades though the neighborhood. All appliances worked as they should, the WiFi was fast, water pressure was good, and the youngsters loved the TVs with Disney streaming.We had plenty of towels, blankets, pillows, etc.Overall a great trip with a comfy place to call home for a few nights :-)

This property is Amazing!! Very well laid out and the decorative atmosphere plus exceptional cleanliness caused us to comment several times throughout the trip how we could not have picked a better place! It’s centrally located to everything we wanted to do. The communication with the owner before booking and during our stay was superb. She very quickly responded to any questions or concerns that I had. Arrival and departure was simple with keyless entry. She also messaged me that it was ready before stated check in time if we wanted to go on in, although we did not get to as our flight didn’t land us in the area until evening. But very nice for her to offer! Definitely recommend this property 10/10!!!

Great house! Very clean & very convenient location. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved the deer & turkeys that visited the back yard each day.

We were all delighted when we walked in the door! From the lovely decor, clean and spacious rooms, to the well stocked kitchen with coffee , tea, spices and laundry and dish soap, we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay here. The many extras that were thought of such as the thorough information book about the area, the games and interesting books throughout the homes made our visit fun and easy to plan where to visit and eat. The back deck with BBQ and seating area was great. ( we bbq’d a lot! Chelsea thank you for a wonderful stay at your house!

Super clean, a dozen super cute DIY touches, great responsiveness from the host, and it a good location for all the things we had planned. Will definitely stay here again!

When we were there the patio was our zone. Had trouble controlling the air conditioner at night. Beds were some what comfortable but everything was close to where we wanted to go.

The house was close to all the sites of the black hills and comfortably fit our group of eight family.
