Quiet, Comfy & Spacious: Cabin within 10 mi of Mt. Rushmore & Custer State Park

This was a wonderful place to stay. Everything was new and very clean. Everything we needed. The location was a quick ride to Mount Rushmore, Keystone and Custer Park.

We had a great time while in South Dakota-the monuments and stunning views were second to none!The place we stayed was very clean and well taken care of.The VRBO listing, however, was absolutely misleading in that we were totally unaware that we would be in such close proximity to the owner and caretaker and other guest houses, based on the photograph of the cabin’s exterior.Again, the place was very nice, but when you believe that you are having a couple’s getaway and pay over 300/night for lodging, we really expected more seclusion.We would not stay at the same property again.

Beautiful location, nicely decorated and well stocked with everything we needed! The deck is great for a morning cup of coffee or for relaxing in the evening. We saw deer and wild turkeys from the deck and enjoyed the view! Would highly recommend!

The cabin was perfect for us!! Close to everything we wanted to do!!

We loved our time in this beautiful little house. It is so comfortable and decorated so well. We felt right at home immediately.The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked and the bathrooms and bedrooms are modern and have lots of towels, blankets and anything else we needed. This is literally the perfect spot to land after a long day visiting the nearby sites such as Mount Rushmore, Deadwoid, and Coster State Park. Location is great, and the home is even better!

We absolutely loved this place. The location was ideal to see all of the various sites. Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse are a relatively short drive and Custer state park is minutes away. Going to the Badlands is a bit of a drive, so we only went there one time. We went into the town of Custer several times (it is half an hour away) to take advantage of the nice restaurants in town. We went to the Sage Creek Grille for dinner and were extremely pleased. The Elk stuffed mushrooms and the Bison Strip steak were great. We also recommend the Spiced Dumplings for dessert. We also highly recommend The Custer Wolf where we had lunch twice. We had to come back for the Mushroom Saute. Totally to die for.The living space was very comfortable. We were very relaxed during our stay. The wifi and internet connection was great. We had no trouble streaming movies and tv shows during our stay. I had a clean connection for zoom meetings that I needed to do during the stay. We will come back if and when we return to South Dakota.

Property was very clean and nicely updated. Beautifully sits in the Black Hills and conveniently close to everything. Loved this propert!

Our family of three thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Carriage House! It is beautiful inside and was a great home base to come back to each day after our day trips around the Black Hills area. Having two full bathrooms, a full kitchen, an available gas grill, and proximity to Custer State Park were all pluses! If we ever travel to the area in the future, we would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved our visit here! This cute cottage is charming and beautiful from inside and out. The host was great with answering any questions and accommodating with late check-ins. The location is great with it being a short drive from Rapid City and many tourist attractions my partner and I wanted to visit. But it is also far enough out you will be able to see deer and other local wildlife. We enjoyed drinking our morning coffee out on the porch and watching all the birds in the trees. 10/10 experience staying here and we would absolutely be staying here again if we come back in the area!
