Our stay in this cabin was excellent all around! We were familiar with the area and wanted to do some hiking and fishing. There is easy access to the Rainbow Trail within 5 minutes from the cabin, so that is very helpful. The pantry was well stocked, and the Lowe's store in town offered a great option to get groceries. The hosts did a great job anticipating any needs that a visitor might have. Lots of good books to read on a rainy day and board games to play. There is even a pair of binoculars that one can borrow to use on a hiking trip. Many thanks to the hosts for being so thoughtful! We would definitely love to stay here again if we get a chance!

Driving west through the valley into the mountains, we could appreciate the Wet Mountain views behind us as the aspens began to enshroud us on a well maintained dirt road. The cabin is indeed magical, perched in a very private, small meadow overlooking those Wet Mountains to the east of the home. We would sit in front of a two story wall of windows and watch the trees shimmer in the rain as if it were a sport. This was such a beautiful, well thought out, well appointed home. Cleaned and prepped to perfection, with a well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The bed was so comfortable and linens were top quality. There is a route out back to lots of hiking and shopping is a 15 minute drive to the cute town of Westcliffe. Sad to say goodbye!! A true gem!

The pictures of the property do not do it justice. You have snow-capped mountain top views. Very private with no close neighbors. Were able to see some incredible starry night views with the telescope that is provided. Easy hike up to the Rainbow Trail. Home was spacious, and we had everything we needed. Pete, the owner, was very helpful when a small fire a couple of streets over caused a temporary evacuation. The location is about an hour from the Royal Gorge and less than two hours from Colorado Springs. Both drives are breathtaking and worth the trip. Loved Westcliffe. The town was friendly. Great shops, food, and art. Highly recommend grabbing a burger from Chappy's. Stop by the art store near the Natural Food Store. Michael Arterburn's ceramic work is so unique! His wife is super friendly and helpful, and can guide you to shops, restaurants, and other places to see. We loved our stay here!

One of the most beautiful settings we have ever visited! Beautifully furnished, open plan cabin is truly magical and welcoming. You can wander up to a world class hiking trail from the back deck. Quiet and remote setting with the promised dark sky at night. Sunrise is spectacular! Home is as described.

The cabin was in great shape. The seating was just right; especially the reading area. The king bed provided a restful sleep. We spent time on the deck watching the hummingbirds and the occasional parade of wild turkeys through the meadow. We also took advantage of the nearby rainbow trail for hiking. Our stay was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Looking forward to a return visit.

My family and I were blown away by this lovely little place. Pete was very communicative and gave clear instructions for check-in. The place was clean and well-appointed, we had everything we needed in terms of supplies, games, cooking utensils, linens etc.The cabin is nestled in the woods, so you’ve got a good chance of seeing wildlife out of any window in the house, and we saw lots of deer, birds, and chipmunks. The vibes in this place are just really good; it feels warm, homey and happy like lots of good memories have been made there. And it doesn’t feel like a vacation rental, it feels like you’re staying at a friend’s cabin. We would love to come back again!

We had a great week at the cabin, was able to hike out of the back yard in the San Isabel national forest, watched deer, rabbits, turkeys and grouse all around the cabin and jack rabbits and pronghorn in the fields on the drive to town from the cabin. I highly recommend this cabin

We wanted a quiet week away after the holidays and this cabin was perfect for our family of 5 plus dog. Great space for everyone to have their own privacy, but also great family room area to gather for meals, games, and reading the by the fire. Communication with Pete was very easy - we had a few things come up that he was able to help out with quickly. Will definitely stay here again!

The property is close enough to town that it’s not a bother to go out to eat, yet it feels remote; surrounded by mountains, trees, and the beauty of nature. More stars than you can see anywhere else. Lots of wildlife. And wonderfully quiet. Overall an awesome stay. Peter was very quick to respond when we had a minor problem and was an excellent host.

It was a delightful, quiet escape in the mountains. The cabin has everything. We enjoyed hiking just outside the door. Sitting on the deck, we were buzzed by humming birds, and watched dozens of wild turkeys in the meadows. It is a comfortable space to relax. We were able to view the Perseids meteor shower in the night sky. Great place for a peaceful retreat !

The cabin was very nice and in a quiet secluded setting. We hung our hummingbird feeder on the deck and enjoyed them every morning while drinking coffee. We saw deer, grouse, and rabbits as well. We had a family game night with one of the many games at the cabin. We enjoyed some jeep trails ( 2 within 15 min), white water rafting at Texas Creek ( 30 min away), and did some shopping in Salida and Westcliffe. Salida was a little over an hour at this time due to road construction. The cabin had everything we needed. We would defiinitely say there again.
