This was our 28th year for our Manchester Get Away! So much fun!
Adult siblings and spouses shared this house for a few days and it was perfect! The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. There were multiple rooms for socializing. The house had everything we needed, and was within walking distance of the Manchester restaurant district. We highly recommend!
Well appointed, comfortable, in town location was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay thanks to Rebecca and Steven! The house is a walk into town which is extremely convenient and is large enough to comfortably fit the 10 of us. We were even lucky to see wild turkey and baby bears in the backyard. The house was nice and clean when checking in and checking out couldn’t of been easier. Will most definitely stay again!
So happy we chose this property for our annual family vacation. The home was well kept and provided our family of 8 adults plenty of space for the week. Within walking distance to shopping and a variety of dining options. Just a short drive to Hildene and the Equinox trails.
This is a very beautiful old 1910 home that needs love and a very deep deep-cleaning! We somewhat enjoyed it, but would not stay here again. One of the bedrooms on the second floor leaked during a rainstorm so we had to put out a soup pot. It was humid and the rest of the home was very damp the entire time-- there were no dehumidifiers. The floors were sticky. We wore socks. One bedroom had a fridge stuffed with gross half-eaten food. For the price, we expected better in terms of cleanliness. The porches were filthy: covered with grime, unswept, wall cobwebs, wasp nests, paint peeled so badly that we wondered if our small kids were being exposed to lead, rotting front stairs. The side entryway porch was dirty and entryway was full of owner stuff: fake xmas tree, cans of insect killer/pesticides, tools, etc. Upon entering and following the instructions for the key code, a burglar alarm went off, scaring us all! I guessed the password and it worked. Most kitchen shelves were packed with half-eaten food (former guests? who knows) and there was no shelf space except for an empty & clean kitchen fridge. Kitchen gear were stuffed haphazardly into spaces with random stuff & messy. Half-full liquor bottles were stashed around (below a globe, on a side table) Downstairs bathroom stunk like urine, we washed it daily ourselves to no avail. We would not stay here again and wish the owners the best of luck in cleaning up this lovely antique home, which has lots of potential!
My wife & I just sold our house in Manchester last May, so we were pretty familiar with the neighborhoods and the inventory. This is a terrific house for groups (and our doggo!) in a perfect location that's easily walkable to shops & restaurants. Rebecca & Steven welcomed us (remotely) and responded very quickly to the few questions we had on arrival. Would definitely stay here again when we come back to the area.
We had a wonderful time in Manchester. This is a lovely old house with great period details. Very comfortable. The hosts were great and answered any questions very promptly. We certainly hope to be back here next year!
The house was perfect for my family to stay in while I was doing a race event at Stratton mountain. They loved the size and comfort of it and took the dining suggestions from Rebecca and Steven for food in town. Would definitely recommend this house to other friends and family!
We had a very nice time at this house. So many bedrooms, lots of living space. Sound does travel through the house so if you go with a group, expect to hear noise. There are also only two bathrooms, which can be challenging if the house is full. But that is fully disclosed in the listing. The house feels very clean and new in an area that has lots of older houses.
This property was well stocked with everything. Itwas clean and beautiful. love to stay there again
The house is spectacular and beautifully updated while maintaining many original features. It's huge (we closed off the entire second floor) and has everything you need to feel at home. It's conveniently located close to everything in Manchester, but doesn't feel like you're in town. We spent a lot of time grilling and hanging out on the giant back porch. Steve and Rebecca are fantastic hosts - easy to contact and provided great recommendations of where to eat, what to do, etc. Thanks for the great stay!!
