Stayed Apr 3, 2026Sure this cottage is cute from the street, the back yard view is lovely and it is a good location for strolling around the main area of Richmond, good heaters but as far as we were concerned that’s where the good stops. This cottage was very poorly designed in its renovation. Areas that could have had a wow factor were simply a dud miss, for example showing the original timber in a glass window box that opens but had no purpose and if lit with a light only to show the the huge spider webs. The house had many areas with large spider webs.Under the bed and couch was a large amount of dust and a few old wrappers from guests prior.Only one toilet roll supplied, no spare we had to go and buy more which is frustrating. There is not blind in the kitchen and it gets full sun all morning so was unenjoyable to cook/make breakfast etc.Fireplaces were for show and not usable. The kitchen sink (if you can call it that) didn’t even fit one dinner plate it was as though it was made for a barbie doll.Kitchen was left with an empty bottle of dishwashing liquid and laundry liquid, no bin bags, no tea towel and I was up chux. The outside wheelie bins were full.No dishwasher.Only mirror is in the bathroom with no natural lighting or good interior lighting so doing my make up for the wedding I was attending was done outside with a tiny makeup powder mirror. No iron or ironing board so I had to buy one for the wedding I was attending. No tv.No manual. No wifi code inside the building.

Stayed Mar 15, 2026Easy check in, good communication with owner.Brilliant location with views of the historic bridge. Short walk to pub, cafes.Lounge not great for people with back issues. Multiple steps in hallway/kitchen area a bit hazardous.Shower 10 out of 10. Bed 10/10.No coffee or tea supplied which wasn't a great start when we arrived. No TV. Not an issue for us but something to consider for longer stays.Overall, a quirky and interesting property full of character. Needs a few touches to make it feel more welcoming.
