The cottage features three bedrooms—two with queen beds and one with two king singles. A portable cot and highchair are available on request for infants.

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities, including a dishwasher and microwave, while the comfy lounge room includes a TV and free WiFi. The bathroom provides towels, toiletries, and a front-loading washing machine.

The Neighborhood:

Richmond is one of Tasmania's most popular visitor destinations, showcasing Tasmanian colonial heritage at every turn. Heritage-listed buildings and features are found on almost every street, so that even a casual evening stroll offers insights into early colonial life.

Richmond Village is situated in the Coal River Valley, one of Australia's first food bowls supplying new settlers in Tasmania. Agricultural enterprises continue to this day, supplying local chefs and cooks with a abundance of meats, berries, stone-fruit, vegetables, chocolate, honey and dairy products to accompany the region's famous wines, ciders and beers.

Deciding whether it’s a long Sunday lunch or a cosy fireside dinner, options abound. Relax whilst someone else cooks for you, pack your own picnic and head down to the Village Green, or perhaps a BBQ at home the cottage

Getting Around:

A car is a must, but there is a bus service that travels to and from Richmond to Hobart, timetable information available online. Uber and Taxis are also available.

Very disappointed we moved on .. Whilst quaint we arrived to a stifling hot cottage with no ability to open windows especially in bedrooms at over 30 degrees inside the air in the lounge made zero difference . The shower was difficult to navigate and awkward and the property to our surprise lacked privacy with several people waking passed looking straight in . No screens on doors or windows and the mosquitoes were an issue

Decided to head to Richmond for a short stay with family. Baker’s Cottage was a perfect place to stay. Great location, quiet, plenty of room for everyone. Easy walking distance to the shops and the Pub. Loved our stay here.

Gorgeous cottage, tucked away in a quiet location but easy walking distance to the main street of Richmond. Well appointed, clean, quiet and comfortable beds. Loved it

The Baker's cottage was wonderfully close to the town of Richmond. A few minutes walk and you were on the main street. The cottage is compact, however clean and neat inside and kitchen had all items required except the coffee machine that was listed. The only minor downside was the lack of opening windows in the bedrooms and no screen doors to the house. It meant the house did get quite hot overnight when you had to close up. One split system in the loungeroom didn't reach the bedrooms to have an impact on the temperature. This wouldn't be a problem if travelling in a season other than Summer. Can recommend Baker's cottage for its charm, location and comfy beds.
