Stayed Nov 24, 2025Exactly as advertised, and just perfect! Four miles down a good dirt road, an old house on the edge of a salt marsh, so it will be just you, a bunch of herons, egrets, and ibises, feral pigs and squirrels, and--I guess sometimes--wild cats and/or gators. Comfortable beds, well outfitted kitchen, good wireless. Rustic--a good thing in my book, but if you are someone who wants to take long showers in a modern bathroom, this isn't your place. And there aren't manynplaces likenit anymore. If it sounds nice to sit in a rocker on a panoramic porch and read, write, talk... and to be just a tiny part of the nature around you, check it out. There are neighbors nearby, and the place feels very secure, so I felt fine as a solo female traveler before and after a friend joined. I added an extra day, really hated to leave. Danielle was great.

Stayed Apr 6, 2025St Marks WSt MarksWe enjoyed staying in this quiet, peaceful home overlooking the marshes. The house was as described with a wonderful porch and comfortable beds. It is an older home with a bathroom that could use updating and doors that stick, but we didn’t mind. The listing was very accurate and we were there for the location.

Stayed Jan 4, 2025It was easy to make ourselves feel at home: the right size for the 2 of us to include dining, living, bedroom(s), bathroom, kitchen, porch. Lots of natural light, good heating system, plenty of water supplied. Location private and nearby all outdoor interests we had: biking, walking, touring small coastal towns. What a thrill and privilege to experience the real FL in such a location as this.

Stayed Jan 1, 2025Beautiful location. It was so quiet and the sky was really dark at night - perfect for astrophotography. We also liked that it was close to Saint Marks and Wakulla Springs. The old house is very charming, and the big south facing back porch was wonderful. The communication with the owner/manager was great. We highly recommend this place if you are in the area

Stayed May 8, 2024My husband and I spent our 15th anniversary here for several days. We were looking for a remote place, quiet, and with great views. This place delivered and Danielle was available to answer my questions ahead of time and during the visit. Great host! We loved the porch, the antiques that filled the house, the marsh views, the scenery as we drove in and out on the road, and being so close to Wakulla beach. If you want the most privacy, we recommend going mid week. On Friday and Saturday night the road tends to be a place for locals to ride and there can be several cars going by. We worried about our truck and supplies being so close to the road but no issues. Loved all the conveniences, including washer and dryer. Good spot to get out and explore. We visited St Marks, Shell Point, Alligator Point, Panacea, Crawfordville, and Apalachicola during our stay. Would definitely stay here again!
