Stayed Aug 23, 2025Absolutely incredible. we saw more wildlife around this property than any of the tours we took. the home was spacious and the 1 ac in the bedroom was all we needed. the many fans were fine to keep the place comfortable . this is a pretty rugged experience by American standards and i loved it! a short 1 min drive to the beach and if you take a left and go down that dirt road you will find a SLOTH and the coolest little bar/restaurant. continue down that dirt road (4x4 only) and at the end there are a several beach accesses where you can see dolphins and whales jumping. many pairs of mom and calf whales are sighted during the correct season. this was the best part of our trip. we saw a ton of hummingbirds as well as a coati and monkeys on the property . Giovanni was the most accommodating host who went way out of the way when we had a issue. you will be well taken care of by a professional knowledgeable local. thank you Gio!

Stayed Dec 14, 2024All I can say is wow! What an amazing place with wonderful hosts! Me, my wife and two kids ages 11 and 12 stayed for 7 days and didn’t want to leave. Before arriving, upon our request, the hosts set up multiple activities with their contacts in the area. Both Gio and Tracy were on site when we arrived to go over details on the property, and to make sure we had everything that we needed. The property was immaculate and very enjoyable. The kitchen had everything needed to make meals at home, which we did several times. There is abundant wildlife around the property, we saw macaws and monkeys daily. The beach was very close, clean and kid/swim friendly. The restaurant next door was an easy walk and was very good. All activities and the people that hosted them were excellent. Puerto Jimenez was a short drive and had plenty of grocery and restaurant options. The area, while off the beaten path, is safe. I never felt uncomfortable at any point during our time there. The hosts were very attentive and quick to respond throughout our stay. They truly made it a wonderful vacation for my family!

Stayed Mar 7, 2024Casa Bella is a very nice comfortable house. The bathrooms are really cool. The kitchen had enough dishware and cookware to do meals there if desired. The pool was a nice addition to cool off. There was some wildlife, howler monkeys. We saw about 30 of them swinging through the trees from the front porch. FYI the road to the house is dirt/rocks so be prepared for that. The location was nice and quiet. If someone asks us we would recommend this house to stay.

Stayed Jan 31, 2024My wife and I stayed 6 days at Casa Bella. Beautiful, very private property a short walk to a virtually deserted beach. Home was beautiful and BIG. Could have had a boy scout and girl scout troop in there and still had room. Scarlet Macaws and colorful butterflies.

Stayed Jan 24, 2023The house is excellent, spacious, comfortable and very close to the beach, a few minutes walk down the unpaved road. You can walk along the beach all the way to Puerto Jimenez (took us 2 hrs both ways). If you can, arrive to the house before 6pm while it is still light out. The road to the house is unpaved (about 20 min as you have to drive slow). We had a 2WD. We bought fish from the local fishermen and fell coconut of the palms. We swam with a turtle. Water is super warm, waves look a bit big, but don't let them intimidate you, they are soft even as they crash and we had great fun diving into them. Some appliances don't work (solar power). Bring extra toilet paper (at least 2ply) and some paper towel. The seating area is available outside; inside are beds and kitchen chairs for sitting. Bathrooms are extraordinary, huge, luxurious. Water refills slowly. Sitting outside is wonderful, fully shaded and pleasant even on the warmest days. A plunge pool is super convenient when temperatures go over 30 C. Both Giovani and Diego were extremely helpful and communicated swiftly. Giovani gave us his contact for a real estate agent as we are considering buying property in Costa Rica. We saw monkeys and numerous birds. We drove all the way to the end of the unpaved road (Rio Carate) and found a jicaro tree; we picked one large fruit and made two bowls out of its casing. We went on an Osa Chocolate Tour which was excellent! We LOVED our stay, highly recommend.

Stayed Dec 20, 2022For days when you’re lounging at the house it is an easy walk to the beach and restaurant next door (Aqua Dulce).. For adventure outings it is about a 10 minute drive to town or 30-45 minute drive to Matopalo. Roads were in great shape between Pto. Jimenez and Matopalo. Gio offered many tour options, but we opted to go solo and that worked out fine for us. The house is beautiful with spa-like showers and comfortable beds. Toucans, monkeys and macaws seen in the backyard were a plus. Great stay overall!

Stayed Jun 5, 2022This was my second trip to Costa Rica and nothing compares to this area if you are looking for a real Costa Rica experience. I have a 14 year old and everyone knows how hard it is to get them engaged. We had a fantastic family vacation and I saw her smile more times then I can count. The wildlife is amazing! I’ve used All booking platforms for at least a decade now.. and also a host myself. The couple who owns this property went over and above what was expected with organizing all of our excursions and giving us daily pin points on where to go and what time to be there. The excursions were incredible!! This is the best experience I’ve had with a host in all of the places I’ve stayed. This will be a vacation I will always remember and I can’t thank them enough for everything they did for us. If you are looking at Costa Rica and you’re looking for wildlife this is the area to be in. You will not see this anywhere else.

Stayed Jan 28, 2022My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Casa Bella. We had plenty of room, and it would be good for a family as well. Nice open kitchen that opens to a patio, and large bathrooms with amazing showers. 2 minutes to the beach, which is walkable for miles and had great swimming. Nice cool plunge pool for those hot afternoons. Monkeys, macaws, herons and more all nearby. Tracy and Giovanni were great hosts; they will do all they can to help set up excursions, boat rides, hikes, etc. And all 10 minutes from town with restaurants, groceries and shopping.

Stayed Aug 22, 2020Giovanni and Tracy were great hosts! They responded very quickly and were very accommodating to our needs/requests. Check-in instructions were super detail and helpful. Casa Bella was very clean and the showers were amazing, the beds are super comfy. We could not ask for a better location, close to the beach with a lot of access to wildlife and reasonably close to Puerto Jimenez. Very good house for a family with small kids. Overall a wonderful place; we would stay here again easily!
