The chic Captain's Quarters offers a unique outdoor Captain's Cabana and wraparound views of the Gulf, Beach AND Bay sunrise/sunset from the fabulous hot tub deck! This beach home is just a 10 sec walk down the street one way to stand Gulfside (best sunrises spot) and 15 sec the other way to get ON the beautiful sandy & seashell-lined beach. What a great spot!



The Space:

Enjoy the plentiful activities of Treasure Island's beach community as you unwind in our spacious, open and well-appointed home. Pack the cooler, small Weber grill, beach gear, fishing rods, etc to savor the sea & sandy beach just a quick walk or scenic stroll away. Have a boat Use the island's private launch. Save up your energy and end the day with an oceanfront beach bonfire while you go crabbing or just listen to the sounds of the surf.



When done outdoors for the day, come back to a huge wraparound deck, modern furnishings and all the conveniences to make your vacation enjoyable. The place is designed perfectly for entertaining-open floor plan, 4K Ultra HD tv, Sony sound system w/ bluetooth for playing your preferred tunes, full wine bar w/ fridge and margarita maker, dining table seating for 8+ plus large dinette (great for board games) and bar stools galore!



Bringing the kiddos The beach-themed bunk room is ready to go with a huge Queen over Queen bunk bed and comfortable bean bag chair for reading the Pirateology book.



Regardless of how you choose to spend your time, the Captain's Quarters of Pirate Jean Lafitte will be sure to produce fantastic vacation memories. Fun fact, it is rumored his buried treasure is somewhere on the island.

EASY CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: It's easy to stay with us and secure too! Access the home electronically at 4pm on the date of your arrival with your unique lock code that we specifically give only to you via text and email. Your code is live from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure.

The 979 Crew just loves this seaside and bayside community flanked by Galveston Island on one end and Surfside Beach on the other. On your drive, stop by the grocery store for your favorite grillables and beverages, make a pit stop at the bait shop to fill your bait bucket (great fishing in TI), and/or place a call to make arrangements to rent a golf cart - this is a very golf cart friendly spot. Enjoy the Gulfside's uncrowded pedestrian beach (no cars allowed for 300 yards but golf carts welcomed) where you can setup your group's camp for the day on the beach to build sandcastles, jump in the surf, find unique shells and sand dollars, boogie board, shore & surf fish and build an evening bonfire. Or if preferred, utilize the available launch for your boat or kayak or head to the fishing pier on the bayside. Some much to do so little time!



Getting Around:

SAN LUIS PASS:

San Luis Pass and Treasure Island have been known all over the United States for being a saltwater fishing hotspot and the most amazing sunrises & sunsets! It is 15 minutes from Surfside and across the bridge from Galveston's west end and only about 25-30 minutes to the heart of Galveston Island's activities. Most people come to the area to spend quality 'non-commercialized time with family, extended family, and friends!

When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!



PUP-FRIENDLY:

Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.



WIFI/TV SERVICE:

Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!



CANCELLATION POLICY:

When booking direct with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.

    I so look forward to our stay in this house every year! It’s wonderfully furnished and very thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to make it your home away from home for a few days (or weeks, if you’re that lucky!) The beach is steps away, parking space is ample, and the fenced yard is a nice pet perk. Kudos to the owners/management team for keeping the house furnishings fresh with new accessories every year! In neighborhood news, happy to report mosquitoes were under control this year!Thank you for another delightful vacation stay! Can’t wait to be back next year!

    This is the second time we've stayed in this property because we like it very much. Great neighborhood, It's walking distace to the beach, comfortable, fully equiped, tastefully decorated, well managed and maintained. The hot tub is fantastic with direct view to the sunset. We have just booked it again for a future visit. Just be aware that no beach equipment is provided. If you are staying more than 4 days, we recommend you bring extra trash bags and dish soap.

    The house is super cute and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking. The gates are really perfect if you have pets too because you can block the patio or the yard. That worked really well for our pups! It’s a short walk from the beach and you can see the water from the hot tub!

    Everything was in great shape. Beach and fishing excellent. Plenty of room in the house, nice kitchen and appliances. One small thing could not find a broom to sweep up. That was very minor, everything was great

    We loved every minute of our stay. The beach was just a short walk down the road and it wasn’t crowded whatsoever. During the weekdays, we were maybe one family out of 10 on the entire stretch of beach. We found tons of big seashells, saw crabs and even caught a small fish. The house was so clean and airy with the windows and we enjoyed the sound of the waves from the deck and the sunsets were amazing. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids and great for relaxing after a day at the beach. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the beds were comfy. We would definitely stay here again!

    This property was beautiful, and so incredibly spacious, which was perfect for the six adults in our family! We loved having so much living space both inside and out. There were multiple outdoor seating areas/decks that were on different levels and different sides of the house, so it had a “private” feel to it, as did the hot tub deck. We took advantage of the gas fire pit and there was ample seating for everyone. It was all so so lovely. The master bedroom and bathroom are truly luxurious and everyone agreed all the beds were comfy and the sheets were cotton! (We don’t prefer jersey knit sheets.) Water pressure was great, the kitchen was well-stocked, and the house had no weird smells. We were thrilled to find a second refrigerator in the laundry room, which was our beverage fridge. Things to note: 1) Pack a few extra dish towels - the dishwasher wasn’t always effective, so we hand washed some dishes that came out of the dishwasher to get them truly clean, and having a few more dish towels than the three small ones provided would have been helpful. 2) Due to the hit or miss dishwasher, be sure to check the cleanliness of everything in the cabinet before use. 3) Bring Kleenex - no tissue in the house. 4) If coming from downtown Galveston or going into Galveston, there is a $2 toll bridge just east of this rental property. Be sure or bring some cash, as the toll booth is actually manned by a person! (I’m unsure if they take credit cards?)
