Salida, Colorado
This BRAND NEW 2,000 square foot contemporary home with 3 BEDROOMS and 2.5 BATHS sleeps up to 10 people and sits in an amazing location – across the street from the beautiful Arkansas river and within a 10-minute walk to historic downtown Salida. World-class fishing and an amazing array of mountain bike & walking/running trails are accessible from the front door, and Monarch Mountain is a short 25-minute drive.
This bright and spacious home features an open floor plan with comfortable indoor and outdoor dining and lounging options. The many large windows look out over the town baseball fields and onto the celebrated “S Mountain” and surrounding hills. A short walk across the street leads to a number of incredible fishing holes, and a beautiful riverside walking path that heads to nearby Sands Lake or towards town.
The fully-stocked kitchen features a large island with bar stool seating for four, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of countertop and cabinet space. A black walnut dining table comfortably seats eight and adjoins the living room, which includes a cozy sectional couch, two comfy armchairs with ottomans, and a flat screen television. The first floor also includes a long window seat (a perfect nook for relaxing with a good book), several large coat/shoe closets, and a half bath.
The upstairs includes three spacious bedrooms with gorgeous views of the surrounding hills, two large bathrooms, an office space, and laundry room. The master bedroom includes a king-sized bed and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen bed, and the “bunk room” features a queen-over-queen bunk and a twin XL trundle. A toddler mattress and/or pack n play fits in the office space for additional sleeping.
All bedrooms include big closets with lots of storage space. Additionally, the bunk room has a wall-mounted flat screen TV for getting cozy and watching movies in bed. The shared guest bathroom includes a shower with tub, and a “bonus” sink area that allows for additional use and privacy. The upstairs layout is perfect for families, families traveling together, multiple couples, or multi-generational family gatherings.
Heading outside, there are large decks at each end of the house, perfect for relaxing outside. The front deck, which features a porch swing (with an amazing view of "S" mountain), will soon include built-in benches and a dining table– a perfect spot for enjoying your morning coffee or afternoon happy hour! Large sliding patio doors open onto the back deck, which includes a seating area with couch, love seat, chairs, and coffee table. You'll also find a gas grill and lovely eco-friendly landscaping with turf and native plants. A true retreat! The detached two-car garage allows for plenty of storage for both your car and gear!
We know you will love your stay in this beautiful setting!
We hold Salida Rental License #0303.
My family of four had the absolute best stay in this house. Lots of room for everyone. We really enjoyed the kitchen and the backyard grill. We also really liked having a garage to park our vehicle in at night. The location is perfect for getting on the hiking trails and walking to downtown to eat and shop. Really recommend this house.
Great home and location!!!
This is a nice, modern, newer house in a great location. If you’re traveling with young kids, they will likely love it. If cleanliness is a top priority, it needs some improvement. Pros: lots of toys and games for young kids to play, bunk beds are fun, baseball field next door and sporting equipment provided are great. It’s an easy walk, bike, or drive to town. The house is right next to a walking trail next to the river. It has all the kitchen and bathroom stuff you need. The garage has plenty of extra room to store your bikes and smaller stuff like a kayak or paddle board. Cons: I got the distinct feeling this place is not professionally cleaned as there were some important (and gross) details overlooked. Owners ask you to do more as far as cleaning before you leave than other places. The bathroom towels are old and worn, as are the bath mats, and need to be replaced. It gets a little stuffy and warm, so if you’re traveling with someone who needs a cool, totally climate controlled house, this probably wouldn’t work. Also, the internet can be a bit slow, so a teenager or someone who needs to work might find it frustrating. That being said, we still were comfortable and happy with our stay. This is probably one of the top home rentals in the town.
This is our third time staying here. We love this house and always have a wonderful time in in Salida!
We stayed at this property with a group of friends for a long weekend. The house was great (lots of room at the dining table, kitchen and couch) for a big group. There were plenty of supplies (towels and whatnot for all). The front and back porches were a wonderful place to hang out depending on the time of day. There was plenty of parking for our group on the street. The house was about a 16 minute walk to the main downtown square (we timed it a few tries) so it is quite close. FYI, there is no air conditioning. This was not a problem for us (Colorado natives used to no AC) but other visitors we met in town mentioned it about their rentals. We would definitely stay here again, and are planning on it with family (toddlers) soon!
We would definitely stay at this house again. The location is great and it was perfect for my family. The property manager was easy to work with and all instructions were clear.
We stayed in this beautiful home for 3 nights with our adult children and their spouses. It was spacious, clean, modern, and across the street from the river. The kitchen was well stocked so it was a joy to cook dinners for the family. We will definitely be staying here again!
Great location, excellent set up, nicely furnished. Highly recommend!
My family and I had a wonderful stay! The house is well-appointed, and all the amenities in town are just a short walk away. Every window had a mountain view, and the Canada geese and deer were outside. Skiing, biking, hiking, and hot springs... all within a 30-minute drive. Wow! We will be back!
We had a great experience staying in this house. We walked to town for dinner, and we went to Monarch mountain to ski during the day.
Perfect open family room and kitchen area to hang out and play games. Very clean and well stocked. Great location and easy access. Owner gave easy to understand instructions. We had a great weekend get away to the mountains.
In addition to the beautiful and very functional home the views and nearness to downtown are an added plus. We had a very enjoyable and relaxable stay in this property and would not hesitate to go back to this property.
Lovely house, well situated and well appointed.
Great proximity and beautiful home. Having the river across the street was amazing. Our only issue was that I didn’t realize there wasn’t air conditioning which probably wouldn’t have been a problem had we not been in a heat wave.
We could not get on wifi, but wasn't a huge issue. Because you are right by the baseball fields, one morning they were playing very early. It happened to be a day that we didn't have an early excursion, so would have been nice to sleep in, but all in all great place and great location.
Rented for a wedding- going to try and come back annually if they’ll have us. Great place. Short walk to town, steps from the river, perfect for summer or winter as we encountered all seasons in one weekend. Great for families. Thank you again.
The house was ideal for our girls trip. Clean, spacious, great floorplan and stocked with everything we needed. Easy walk to town. I am ready to move in!
