Freeport, Texas
Pier Paradise is a lovely two-story home near Drum Bay, located in Seahorse Estates along scenic Bluewater Highway. Wraparound decks provide fantastic Gulf of Mexico views from two front decks, and Drum Bay, the Intracoastal Waterway and wetlands on the back side with more upper and lower decks. The house is two story with four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The main floor has open concept kitchen, dining and living room with huge flatscreen TV. Easy access to a long crabbing and fishing pier via boardwalk near the back side of the property, and a kayak launch nearby. Open sandy beaches just a short walk across Bluewater Hwy. This area tends to be less crowded than the city and county beaches in Surfside and Treasure Island.
* Reverse Osmosis (RO) water filter at kitchen sink.
House exceeded expectations. Plenty of room for 8 adults. Location is great with no close neighbors. Had concerns prior to staying of things being dated but the cleanliness of the place more then made up for it.
Great time
It was the best vacation we have ever had. The house was perfect we got to all hang out go to the beach and make wonderful memories.
Our group of 12 all had a wonderful stay! The house was clean and very well stocked with supplies. The location was great, and the walkover to the beach was directly across the street and very walkable. The minor issues we encountered were quickly resolved by the host. The beach was clean and EMPTY, and we pretty much had it all to ourselves! We will definitely be back. Thank you!!
We had a good size group, and everyone had their space. The house was super cute with the decor and accents. The wraparound porch and balconies were very much used and provided great views to both the beach and the bay. And the location was great, a short walk to the beach and a short drive to town. I received super quick responses from the owner, and they were very kind and willing to work with whatever we needed. Will definitely stay again!
The only thing negative to say about our stay was it ended too soon. We had a wonderful time and it was a great place to stay for our family!
This beach house is an excellent place to stay. The porches and balconies are delightful. The boardwalk to the pier was a great place for crabbing. We caught lots of crabs. Easy access to the beach over the dunes (a bit of a walk) or drive onto the beach. We brought a canopy and beach chairs for extra comfort. The kitchen is very well equipped with the comforts of home. There was a nice variety of games and puzzles. A very pleasant venue for our family get together! Recommendations: Bring lots mosquito spray, and a few extra dish towels. The bathroom towels were adequate, could use an upgrade.
The property was by itself which gave us very peaceful evenings, very close to the beach. Very well stocked house. Honestly the best beach house we have rented and we have rented 4 in the past. I would rent this again in the future
Everyone loved the house, and solitude. Great views too! There were a few things that need attention… doors and locks, 1 of the blue Adirondack chair armrest fell off when someone tried to use it. I would still rent it again!
The house is perfect for a large group, with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. It rained a lot during our trip so we definitely enjoyed the extra space as we played games and watched movies on the huge tv. It is located close to a drive on beach access and very quiet & peaceful location! Matt was super responsive when I had questions during the check-in which was very helpful. Our family will definitely be looking to stay at this property again. The only 2 things are the mosquitos downstairs, they are horrible so bring stuff to fend them off and some of the exterior doors are hard to shut once they are opened.
The house was perfect. There was room for everyone and the views were amazing from the ocean across the way to the sunsets at night. The patio was so relaxing. We absolutely loved our time there and can't wait to go back again
We had a wonderful time at this house. My son brought 2 friends , and they really enjoyed having their own living room, upstairs, where they played the x-box while cooling down from the hot summer days. They also loved the fishing / crabbing pier. I took advantage of the large gas grill that heated up quickly, and cooked quickly! The location is just far enough away from the town center that the usual traffic was not an issue, at all. Views include the Gulf and the Bay. In Surfside Beach, the easiest way to bring your stuff to the beach is by using your vehicle, so not being on the beach was not an issue.
We had a great stay at this beach house. The views were wonderful and the location is convenient for access both to the ocean and bay. There’s a boardwalk through the dunes for beach access just across the road. The location is nice with wonderful views. The kitchen was also furnished well with all utensils, tools, and all cookware we needed.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The host was very responsive when we had questions. The house was very clean and well stocked. We saw no insects or other pests at all. The WiFi had a good signal. The water and a/c were fine. We had a great time fishing and crabbing off of the pier behind the house. It's a bit of a walk to the water, especially in this drought, but worth it. Even being inexperienced, we caught red and black drum, croaker, catfish, and skates, as well as crabs. We even caught two little hermit crabs and a shrimp in our crab trap. There are several bait shops just across the bridge toward the mainland. The area is very quiet and peaceful, away from the crowds in Galveston. There is a walk-on beach access directly across the street, and several drive-on beach access points just a little way down the road in either direction. If you do drive north to Galveston for restaurants and amusements, there's a $2 toll bridge (cash; no TollTag). There is a nice outdoor shower and hose downstairs to clean off when you get back from the beach. The front porch gets a nice amount of shade from afternoon through evening. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the sea breeze (and maybe some margaritas from the drive-thru place by the bridge - Surfin' Rita's). The only suggestions we'd offer would be that the king sized bed could use a box spring, and it would be nice to have a table near the hose downstairs to clean fish. Bring something to crack crabs with if you're planning on crabbing. We all had a great time and would be very happy to return.
The property was perfect. The area was quite, very close to beach access. We loved our experience
