Walk to Beach & Main St: Catalina Island Cottage!

the whole place is like a run down double wide trailer. in one bedroom there was a half curtain hiding a destroyed bathroom, tinfoil wrapped around shower handle to prevent leaking, plywood construction. Can't shut the bathroom doors while your sitting on the toilet. It's just very clear the owner puts zero money into upkeep of the property. For the same money you can do much better at one of the hotels

Would love to come back.

Cottage needs a little updating, the bathroom was very tight and no locks on the doors. Other than that it was in an ideal location right behind the market and in walking distance to all the fun!

The house is cute, perfect for our stay on the island. Its in a good location walking distance to park, vons and beach. I cant wait to book my next stay !

This was a OG vintage Catalina beach rental. It was very clean and the location is superb. We had no water pressure issues like in other reviews. It was quirky and fun. It even has an old skool built in tuner and record player. It was a perfect weekend getaway. It’s not the Ritz but it gives you the vintage Catalina beach getaway. We would stay there again.

Was awesome, great little place!

This property looks and feels very old. It is dark, noisy, and kind of creepy. We didn’t think the sheets on the big bed were clean. The towels looked dirty but we found some new ones under the sink. The bathrooms are laughable. We’re tall people and you couldn’t sit on the toilet and close the door. Overpriced. All it has going for it is location.

The Cottage was a bit underwhelming for the nightly price. The place can use some updating that's for sure, especially in comparison to the other properties on the street. Bathroom Toilet Areas are a bit tight for anyone over the average size. Great location and street though! Good thing Catalina Island is a beautiful place, and we spent most of our time outside enjoying the Island.

House was dirty beds had blood, poop, pee on blankets we had to clean kitchen and bathrooms. The air conditioner did not work also mold all over the shower curtains in both bathrooms. Called owner and housekeeper came and changed just one of the shower curtains and put nasty stained blankets and sheets back on beds. Will not return to this house. Very disappointed.

Did we have a wonderful time in Catalina and enjoy our stay? Yes! Would I stay at this property again? Absolutely not. There was no property manager to get a hold of and I had to reach out to get all the check-in information. I received a little communication from the Host. Broken air conditioner and cramped living quarters. I don’t know who built this house, but I think they might have been a little blind because so many things were off. Stained sheets and blankets available For bedding… Tried to not think about it. No comfort for anyone over the average human size. Luckily nobody in our party was plus size but if they were, they would not have been able to use any of the bathrooms. Impossible to sit on both toilets due to cramped walls. And the house is literally on a slant… Things were rolling all over the place. Great location, next to the grocery store was awesome. Adorable neighborhood and very quiet. Misleading on quality of home and availability of rooms… But it did the job. For the money we spent, I am not overly thrilled about what we got but oh well. We had a wonderful time in Catalina and would not stay here again.

The location was neat and Catalina was hands down amazing! The property we rented wasn’t up to par as far as cleanliness. We found hair on one of the toilet seats and some on the bathroom floors. It took 2 days for the owner to respond regarding an early check in. She was kind and let us put our things inside the gate until our check in time. The air conditioner started leaking right after we turned it on right when we arrived. Water got on the floor- we cleaned it up and notified the owner right away. We weren’t able to use the A/C the entire stay. Luckily it wasn’t too hot. There were perishables left behind in the fridge. The back bedroom with the two beds had like a room closed off with a curtain. (Weird) It had some old furniture in there like a storage. Doesn’t seem like the property was kept up continuously, it wasn’t very clean.

Great location, comfortable beds. Unfortunately property manager does not check VRBO messages or Evolve messages. Emailed Evolve with no response and messaged on VRBO with no response.

Great location, not far from everything. Grocery store at the corner. Loved the ability to hang all our wet stuff outside on the clothes line! Had everything we needed and great space for the 5 of us girls. Thanks!

Our family loves staying in this cozy cottage. We booked this cottage several times now and its starting to feel like a second home. Thank you for sharing it with others.

In previous reviews we knew the property was stated but we expected it to be functional. The shower in one of the bathrooms did not work.Curtain rods would fall off the walls windows don't open and close properly or all the way front door lock

I tried to contact Bond my assigned person to contact with any questions. I called and sent a e-mail days before my arrival with no response! Arrived at house and found a shower they was inoperable and easily visible by cleaning crew with handle broken off and left on shelf. Called plumber contact on Bulletin Board and there was no voice mail. All contact information was old from 2014! I have been renting in Catalina for 40 years and this is my worst experience.

The house was able to accommodate us all fairly well. The location was about a mile walk to Descanso beach club, which wasn’t too bad considering the views on the walk. With that being said, the house could use some updates (shower, paint, curtain rods, etc.). Also, some cookware in the kitchen needs to be updated (mainly pots and pans). The outside of the house could also use some maintenance (cleaning out the shed, removing cob webs, etc.). Overall, my family enjoyed our stay on Catalina island.

Check in was terrible The place was not clean and people were in it. Told us to put our stuff outside and would not let us in. Maid came and cleaned the place and we got in at 430pm Everything else was good

Kicked off summer with my girls. The house fit us perfectly and was a great location. We will be back!
