My husband and I stayed here for JMU Homecoming Weekend. It was the perfect distance from campus, as we wanted to be away from the “hustle and bustle” but still close enough to drive over for the weekend events. The house was super cute and very clean, on a quiet street in the country. The check in/check out processes were easy and the host provided clear directions. We enjoyed visiting the farm store owned by the host as well. We will definitely be back!
We stayed at this sweet, charming, rustic cottage instead of the crowded hotels in Harrisonburg for JMU's Parent's Weekend. It's only a 20 minute drive to JMU and was perfect for what we needed. Owner communication was great, check in was easy, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Just wow, I loved this place! It was in a great location, I felt very safe as I was just traveling with my dog. Our favorite spot on the property was the upstairs balcony, we went out there for an hour every morning and a little at night, my dog laid down while I read a book. Everything that was in this tiny house made sense and fit perfectly in the space while still feeling spacious and easy to move around. The owner was very nice and easy to get in contact with, also their shop was cute! The point of my trip was to go to Shenandoah National Park, and this spot was an hour away from both entrances, just a heads up. The Christmas lights throughout were a perfect touch and beautifully lit up the place. Overall couldn’t have loved this spot more!!
LOVED this place and I'll be returning for writing sessions--it's the perfect environment to get that manuscript in shape. Basic small kitchen (hotplate, outdoor grill, toaster oven, french press) in a historic building; new comfortable bathroom, outlets, heat and A/C, bed. Lovely views. Too cold to use the balcony but I'll be returning in warmer weather to take advantage of that. Super easy check-in, very clean, quiet, and safe.
Very quiet area close to Shenandoah national Park
My husband and I loved staying at the cottage. It was wonderful to get out of town and explore what lies beyond. We felt a world away from Harrisonburg, but yet just a 10 min drive away. The property was clean with great ambience (NO TV! - loved it). The balcony was great for yoga at dusk. Very peaceful. Thank you for the welcome gift! We enjoyed it.
This place was PERFECT for our weekend trip! We loved the location, it was perfect for walks and drives through the area. We went into the city for breakfast and dinner every day (the suggested places were fabulous and much appreciated!) which was a great way to get to know Harrisonburg. Everything was wonderful from the cookies to the complimentary pet bags for my dog! We couldn’t stop talking about how much we loved it here! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and convenient place to stay!
