Convenient to Appalachian Trail and other outdoor activities. Short walk to dining options and convenience stores. Quiet location with comfortable rooms, adequate kitchen, and nice front porch for enjoying morning coffee or relaxing in the evening.

Overall very nice however, the heating system could barely keep up with the extra cold weather we had at night. Also other places I’ve stayed had powdered creamer and hot chocolate with the coffee set up, this place did not. Not as private as it looked on the website but fine for our purposes during the late fall, not conducive to hanging out on the screened porch with neighbors very close.

Small and cozy would not recommend to anyone of stature or size. Also would be nice to have an abundance of towels and wash clothes other than having to ask the host for them.

We had a nice weekend in Hot Springs for a wedding. The cottage was just what we needed and within walking distance to the Main Street.

The Rock Cottage is an ideal place to stay for an older couple as we are. It is very comfortable providing everything that is required. The screened-in porch surrounded by shrubs and flowers and many songbirds is a little paradise. It is a very short drive to restaurants, stores and gas. Highly recommend this restful spot.If

This what you need to know. The cottage is much smaller than it looks in the pictures, probably only about 650 sq ft in total. There are 2 master bedrooms connected by a galley kitchen. The shower in the master on the left has a tiny shower stall with a shower head only 5.5 ft in height. People of size or stature will have difficulty. Although the kitchen is well appointed with all appliances and dishes, it is VERY narrow. A tiny dining area with a very nice flat screen TV separated the kitchen from the other master. However, there is no comfortable furniture to watch TV. An old patio love seat and wooden straight chairs are your options for watching TV. The tub shower combo in the second master requires about an 18 stepover. Having said that, the cottage is very clean and the beds are OK. My sister and I (64 &62 y.o. females) slept very well as it is quiet and peaceful around the cottage. The heat and air conditioning work very well.

This was base camp for our AT hiking adventure with Blue Ridge Hiking. My 84 year old mother stayed there while we did a 2 night hike. She was within walking distance to town if she needed anything. The beds were very comfortable. The living room could use a better set up. The couch could be bigger and the chair was not comfortable for an evening of TV. The table was great for games though. The hosts were so friendly. Parking was an issue. Only spot for one vehicle and it was tight. We definitely would return to the area and stay in this lovely cabin again

Perfect little place for a get away. We were here for a songwriting retreat at another location in town….so basically we needed a place to sleep. Didn’t spend much time during the day in the house. The arrangement of the house is nice. The Living room and kitchen is in the middle of the house with a bedroom and bathroom on each end of the house. The separation by the living room and kitchen provides more privacy. Bedrooms each have an air conditioner unit. Living room and kitchen tend to stay a little warmer. The screened in porch was a favorite place to gather in the morning and the evening. The kitchen is very small, but works to make a light breakfast or a quick lunch. Easy, no contact check-in. We would stay here again.

We used the cottage as home base for a week long AT section hike. Worked out great!

The best feature of this property is the front porch. It is screened on three sides to provide a great breeze and has ample seating as well as a card table and additional chairs. There are also sunshades to block the sun's rays as needed. The view of the mountains and nearby flower gardens are wonderful. The owners brought in fresh flowers on the second day of our stay, which was a kind gesture. With those things said, though, it is important to point out the drawbacks as well. This is a minimalist house. The kitchen is tiny, the fridge is very small, and the stove is small. There were limited essentials, such as no hot pads for cooking and no hand soap in one of the bathrooms. While the linens seemed clean, there were cobwebs in some of the glasses and the floors were overtly dusty. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and the TV was small. The owners live next door, which made it easy to resolve issues during our stay, however they were unresponsive to multiple attempts prior to arrival to get a question answered. If your plans are to mostly be outside and to eat out, this house will be adequate for you. However, you should approach with caution if the weather is inclement or if you plan to mostly be indoors. Hot springs is a beautiful area and be sure to visit the hot springs spa!
