You can also visit several places to fish or tube on the Tuckasegee River, many spots for hiking or mountain biking. If you'd like to travel around to neighboring towns, Cherokee, Waynesville, and Bryson City are all very easy drives.

In the backyard, there is a shared bridge, where you can enjoy walking by the creek and enjoy a closer glimpse.
