Deep Water Oceanfront - Schoodic Surf Cottage

This property was absolutely perfect. Even smelled brand new from the moment we opened the door. Oversized windows made for magnificent views from every room. Even the decor was well selected and offered a sense of place. Comfortable seating looking directly across the harbor invited us to sit, relax, and just enjoy the tides ebbing and flowing across the rocks. After a day of exploring the area we turned onto the tree lined drive and arrived to see the cottage welcoming us back. The hosts were kind and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Even called us to be sure we had arrived safely and to share information about things to do and see in the area. Perfect place to renew a sense of spirit and calm.

The house was everything you would want for comfort, beauty and relaxing. The views were gorgeous as you would watch the sunrise from inside the house, on the porch or the chairs in the yard. It was very clean and comfortable and had anything you would need. The host was very friendly and checked to make sure all was good upon arrival and gave excellent info about the area ( also, the big book about everything local was helpful). Best VRBO we have ever stayed in.

Delightful and well-equipped home. Very comfortable and well-appointed. All of it was just beautiful and enjoyable. It is definitely a place we enjoyed and would gladly return to!

This was our second stay at this exceptionally beautifully cottage. The setting is quintessential Maine with fir and spruce scented forest and large sun-warmed, sea-kissed boulders.The house is equipped with everything you could need for a comfortable stay!Cottage is beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and furniture. The back deck has several Adirondack chairs for early morning coffee and evening wine while listening to the waves of the ocean. We have been visiting this area of the coast for 25 years and this is by far our favorite cottage to rent! Owners always check in to make sure we have everything we need and to tell us not to hesitate to call with any concerns or questions.First class accommodations all the way! We will definitely be back.

Beautiful well maintained home with breathtaking views of the harbor. Well stocked kitchen, clean and fresh interior, very comfortable beds. Nice decks and clean sturdy deck furniture. Really enjoyed a few other sitting arrangements overlooking the water. Cannot beat freshly steamed lobsters right at the water with salty breeze and pine smell. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful week at the Schoodic Surf Cottage! The house was so clean and comfortable. The view is outstanding! We woke up to the most beautiful sunrise each day. The owners checked in the evening we arrived to make sure everything was okay. We can’t wait to go back.

Great property and location.

This is our 2nd time booking this cottage because the quiet and the views are incredible, and the hosts are so hospitable and helpful! They appreciate their guests, and it shows in every way! There is NO noise here but the wind in the pines and the water on the rocks outside. It is only a short drive into town for supplies or a meal. You are close to the Schoodic part of Acadia, which is less busy and has unique places to hike or explore the coast. After a day of exploring and shopping, this quiet place is the ultimate in relaxation that you can't wait to return to each evening.

A delightful home. Well cared for, all needs of visitors planned for, location perfect for amazing scenery. We returned to this property and will try to again.

This was our first Time in Maine and our stay at The scootic peninsula home could not have been nicer. The view was spectacular, home was tastefully decorated... In fact, the wall art kept me busy for hours! Everything was clean, comfy and the hosts are awesome. Location could not have been better and I'm so happy we chose to stay in prospect harbor and not bar harbor... Way too many people! Every morning we woke up to an amazing sunrise, hiked for hours and ate lots of lobster! We try to get to Acadia every year and prefer the less crowded Schoodic area, which is close enough to MDI without the crowds. The Schoodic Surf Cottage was perfect for our Maine vacation. It is an absolute gem in a great location. You can see beautiful sunrises, ocean views and unbelievable night skies all from the deck and back yard. Even our mini dachshunds loved sitting on the deck watching the wildlife and lobstermen on the water! The house is clean and well maintained. It also has everything you need in a stocked kitchen, if you want to prepare your own meals. We also enjoyed the art and curiosities hanging on the walls! There are great views from the master and spare bedrooms upstairs as well (where you can see the sunrise and go back to sleep). The Sylers are exceptional hosts. Kent checked in on us with a phone call shortly after we arrived and gave us helpful information about the house and area. Thank you Kent and Lynell Syler for your home and hospitality!
