We rented this home so we could all gather for our Christmas together. My son and his wife who live out of state stayed with me at what we lovingly called our Christmas Cottage. My daughter and her family came over to hangout and eat but stayed at their own home. It worked out great! The kitchen is very well appointed. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable (we didn’t use the twin room, although the kids hung out there) The place was decorated for Christmas just perfectly with the prettiest Christmas tree I’ve ever seen. We all absolutely loved how welcoming the home felt. The history gave the home personality and we truly appreciated it. My dogs stayed with me there too and they also loved the house, my smallest did not want to leave, I had to carry him out. I felt the same way! This Christmas Cottage may become our new tradition!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and cozy, lots of touches that really made it feel like a home. Loved the snacks, the blankets for snuggling up on the couch, and the interesting books and pictures throughout the cottage.

The Superb host of this quaint, comfortable, two-story gem was friendly and accessible. We enjoyed our visit to the Raystown Lake region, slept well and visited diverse eateries in the area Cupboards and linen supplies were well-stocked, and the home was as pictured and described.

The A/C felt wonderful during a hot holiday weekend! Groceries will close by - the kitchen well-stocked with things to cook and serve home meals. The decor was charming and the little surprises of hidden 'treats' in drawers and bins was whimsical. We took in Lincoln Caverns & the Raystown Lake beach and also enjoyed hanging out in the Adirondack chairs in the side yard.

This is a perfect place for a multigenerational family stay! I booked this for my son’s graduation from Penn State and stayed with my father and 23 year old son. This is a great option when all the hotels in State College are booked up and Penn State is a lovely 45 minute drive away. My father stayed on the first floor next to the bathroom and we were very comfortable in the bedrooms upstairs. The house is very clean and full of charming touches that appealed to everyone. My son gobbled up the snacks, my father appreciated the historical decorations and I loved the cheerful strawberry theme in the kitchen. My father and I had a wonderful experience enjoying our morning coffee on the front porch and talking away about life, prompted by the decorations in the house. It truly was a highlight of a momentous weekend. We didn’t get to stay very long because of all the graduation activities but we would definitely come back again to explore the area and relax!

This property is immaculate, tidy, full of extra amenities, cozy and comfortable! And they take pets if needed. Loved sipping my morning tea on the front porch! Thank you for making it so easy and comfortable! Coming back!

We felt very blessed to find a home for about the same cost as two rooms at a hotel at short notice as we needed to attend a funeral. The cottage is absolutely lovely, and we felt so welcome. Shelly and her sister have made it so cozy. We had a basket full of goodies, condiments, ice packs, coffee, tea, sugar, available for use. They even provided bags to clean up after the dog. (I have difficulty with my hands, and these bags were so easy to open too.) The kitchen was more fully equipped than any other place we have ever rented through VRBO or otherwise. We loved the tiny details that connected the cottage to their family and the area. Their signage around the cottage was also detailed and welcoming. It was fun to see the guest record too. It reminded me of the one my aunt keeps in her hunting/fishing cabin.Shelly was so accommodating in allowing us extra time for a late checkout. That was one of the deciding factors in our stay. I could not have been more pleased to find such a nice place to stay for our large group and dog at short notice. The shower had a grab bar, and the cottage also has a first floor bedroom. Perfect for our elder member who has some mobility challenges.Thank you so much.
