Spacious Akumal Condo, Beautiful View and Pool in Elegant Comfy Mi Casa del Mar

Beautiful apartment, view, and pool! I've never been one just to lazy about in a swimming pool, but my family and I spent a lot of time in the infinity pool just taking in the beautiful view of the sea, sky and weather. Beyond that, a variety of restaurants and snorkeling were all a walk away, as was the walk to the town, which took us over the pedestrian bridge, about 15-20 minutes altogether). To be clear, there is no swimming in the ocean from directly in front of Mi Casa Del Mar, you'll need to walk north or south from the location to do so (such as at the turtle beach closeby). Overall, fantastic experience, very much recommended!

We stayed at this condo in Akumal for two nights in July as a family, and it was a wonderful experience. The place felt very homely, spotlessly clean, and was well equipped with everything we needed. It also felt very safe, which made our stay even more relaxing.The location was perfect—just a short walk to some great restaurants and the main part of town. One of the highlights was the infinity pool: it was beautifully maintained, crystal clear, and had a lovely view. The daily cleaning by the wonderful Aurora was an unexpected and much appreciated bonus. Our host, Hans, was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to ensure we were comfortable.Highly recommend this place for families or anyone looking for a peaceful and well-located stay in Akumal!

We had talked about a mom's trip for over 10 years and finally made it happen. I had stayed at Mi Casa del Mar in 2019 in a different unit and was thrilled to be able to return. Our stay was wonderful and we had a fabulous time - relaxing, exploring the area, snorkeling, renting and riding bikes into the pueblo - fantastic food and so much more. Would return tomorrow if I could.

We had a wonderful stay at this nicely situated condo. We enjoyed walking out to an infinity pool and spectacular views each morning to watch the sun come up over the ocean. The condo was spacious, clean and comfortable. The owner generously offers valuable information regarding the condo and the surrounding area of Akumal. We will be back!

We have been coming to Akumal for almost 20 years now. Mi Casa Del Mar is a wonderful condo, with a great location! The condo was beautiful and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

This condo is impeccably decorated, homey, and peaceful. The staff is great. The views are great, the location is great. We have stayed at several condos in Half-Moon Bay and this one is by far the nicest and the best value for money!

We had a nice time at Mi Casa del mar. The place was clean, quiet and employees always ensured security and maintenance. Nice comfortable bedrooms with plenty of space. Our children loved the swimming pool :) Of course, all travelers have been asking to keep the place quiet as much as possible. We did not have any problem respecting this with our kids. We personally prefer quiet places, and it makes sense everybody care about this when staying there. People who like to party and leave kids free to be loud can visit resorts, there are many around. We bought a one-day pass at Bahia Principe Grand Tulum which is just 10 minutes to drive from the condo and kids did like it. Many resorts in the area do offer day-pass and night-pass. My husband and I do not like much these places, so it has been a good vacation compromise for our family. Also, access to beaches form the condo is easy and quick with a car. Communications with the owners have also been clear, efficient and cordial. They provided many useful information about rules for the property, directions on how get there and things to do in the surrounding area. We truly appreciated this, it did help us feeling safer and planning better our trip (we do recommend Taverna and Turtle Bay Cafee restaurants. Great food and services). Like other travelers renting that place, we were in no way disappointed with our choice. Thanks to Hans and Joan for helping us to make our stay enjoyable.

We had a great time at the unit. The property is just as described and is in a great small condo building right on the water. There is no beach, but the pool is where we hung out and the beach is just a short walk away. The unit is on the first floor with a back porch that leads right out to the pool, so access was great. The only thing to be aware of is, that there is no AC in the main living space so it can get a little warm. We opened the doors to let the breeze in to help and there are fans. It was not a big deal because we spent all our time outside. The bedrooms have AC so there is no issue when sleeping. We would definitely recommend this unit and will use it again on our next trip to this great town.

Hans gave us fantastic information, the condo was well described, and we made the most of two nights and one day. Great location, clean and spacious condo with very friendly and helpful staff. Our only challenge was that the power in north Akumal was out the first morning and most of that day and again the next night starting around 11pm. The condo must have a generator, which is helpful but the AC in the rooms will not work on it.

We really enjoyed the pool and close proximity to town. We like to avoid more of the touristy spots and Akumal was very touristy so having a rental car was a must for us to tour around the different beaches and eateries in the area. That being said we looked forward to returning to the condo and lounging by the pool every day, the staff and hosts were easily accessible and very friendly/helpful with any needs or problems that arose. We would absolutely stay again!

Hans was very helpful getting everything arranged for our trip. The property has many great additional features such as an extra bed, high chair, and a Pack n’ Play. The pool is a terrific amenity, and the condo has a ton of extras you’ll want: snorkeling gear, life jackets (required at the lagoon), fans, beach towels, cooking equipment. The building staff were also great and can help with any need like ordering a taxi or renting a golf cart. Two air conditioned bedrooms was really nice in the heat!

The condo is beautifully decorated with appropriate decor for the locale with a large main room, lots of seating, and a breathtaking view opening on to a patio next to a lovely pool. The kitchen is very well equiped with anything you could need during your stay. The communication with Hans is excellent, and he provides extensive documenation on both the area and the condo. It is within walking distance of great little restaurants, shops, and beaches which is very conenient.

If you want spacious, ocen front place, away for crowds yet close to everything, look no further. Great for family with childern, just walk from porch to pool (10 feet) and relax looking at the braking waves. Closest beach will be 5 to 10 minutes walk south. Dont bother half moon bay is just not easy to get to. Local restaurants are great, we recomend fishing trip, snorkel with turtles or 2km walk to snorkel in Yal-ku. Expect most advantures are not free but well worth it. Having car is a great help to get around. Achtu chen and Cada Tortuga are great close by Cenotes. Xel-Ha is expensive but offers a lot. Plan full day in yhis all inclusive water park. Tulum ruins are great, just avoid paid tours as entry is only around 100 pesos but tour guids will sell you additional stuff for much more. I would pass on that. Condo has all you need, small grocery closed by, check italian Taverna, great food and drinks. Owner is very responsive in case you need a help. Leave a tip for house keeper, our was wonderful and did great job.

It was wonderful. We enjoyed the pool and just hung out and relaxed. We went to a few places that were fabulous. Loved every minute. Unfortunately the ac wasn’t working when we arrived but they got it fixed in no time at all. Very friendly staff and so helpful. Hope to be back.
