great location and adorable town! very easy company to work with. a couple of the overhead fans were not working and needed adjustment so they didn't squeak (2nd bedroom and living room). both beds were very comfortable. the parking spot under the carport is first come, first serve, but that only seemed to matter on the Saturday and Sunday. will rent again!

Newly built unit surrounded by other condo units under construction, so expect noise during weekday work hours.All new modern appliances. We had a hard time using the oven and took a few attempts over 2 days to get help. We got it working on our 3rd day (out of 5). Fans work well, unit was clean. Fan in common living area needs to be cleaned as there were expiredbugs accumulated in the base of the light. Having manuals for dishwasher & oven would have been most helpful.Expect to sign in to any streaming apps if you are looking for entertainment.Photos from vrbo showed at least 2 lounge chairs on the roof deck, there were none. Disappointing! Table, chairs and a working umbrella all worked well.The unit could use some more staples--for instance pepper to go with salt that was in the unit. If you are coming through SLO, grocery shop while you are in town as there is nothing nearby in Avila. Also would like to see a set of melamine dishes to bring up to rooftop.Furnishings were ok. The sectional sofa is below average for comfort--small and narrow. Pillows in primary room were not very comfortable, very lightweight and mushy. Bring your own if particular.Would be helpful if the in-unit info was updated, it reads as if it is for a different unit. Checkout procedures are not listed. It just says to see rental agreement and we don't see that.Overall clean, comfortable and would stay again if it wasn't a high season rate. We were here for graduation and it accommodated our need. Host was extremely responsive and helpful which is always reassuring.

Reviewer Comments: When I reached out to Coastal Vacation Rentals find a positive solution to the onslaught of construction all around this property that they failed to disclose prior to my booking, I was met with absolute shocking responses from Kenderick, who blamed me for renting it, called me a con-woman (and worse), send staff to check on the property and ENTERED the unit I was renting WITHOUT NOTICE which is an absolute breach of housing law let alone privacy, and he even threatened to sit outside the unit in his car the morning of my scheduled check out. When I finally was able to connect with Erin, the owner, I felt massive relief as she apologized and seemed eager to make things right. However that is until Kenderick infected her with his lies, conspiring a deluded belief of who I am based on my public personality and spinning a fantastical web of insult, smear, and a twisted fixation on me that didn't allow for any positive resolution to this unfortunate and deeply distressing situation. I will never use this company again, and I strongly advise the same to anyone reading this.

The location was wonderful. Couple blocks to the beach and plenty of restaurants and shops. Easy drive to San Luis Obispo.This rental had everything we needed. The deck on the roof was a great spot to hang out and enjoy the fresh air. It could use a hose down up there though. The furniture was covered in spiders and webs. We spent some time with the broom cleaning before sitting around. We would definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your spot with us!

Great Location! Wonderful condo.

I was supposed to stay at this property from 5/15 to 5/24. The day after I moved in the AC went out. My cellular phone didn't work at the property, which supposedly happens occasionally, so I had a lot of difficulty reaching Coastal Vacation Rental Properties. Their manager came out to look at the AC, and basically made it worse, leaving flashing lights on all of the fans (which was interesting at night). They sent an HVAC technician out to look at the AC - again my cell phone didn't work there so this was difficult to coordinate - four separate times. I actually called Coastal Vacation Rentals to cancel the last appointment, successfully did so, but when I left the property to walk my dog the AC tech was sitting outside of the property in his car. I told him I cancelled, he said it would take two minutes to fix, but after twenty minutes of no results I asked him kindly to leave. When I left the property I was concerned because he was still sitting outside in his car. I therefore LOCKED THE INSIDE FRONT DOOR AND WENT OUT THROUGH THE GARAGE USING THE CLICKER, LEAVING THE GARAGE DOOR OPEN. When I came back one hour later, the FRONT DOOR WAS UNLOCKED AND THE GARAGE DOOR WAS LOCKED. I was scared and had no way to contact anyone. My emails were not returned. I packed my stuff and left the next morning. Interestingly, the hot water was turned off and I had to take a freezing cold shower the morning I left. This property is ok but the experience was terrible.

Easy walk to the beach and downtown. The place was super clean and modern. Beds were comfortable overall a great stay for a five day trip!
