Salida, Colorado
If you'd prefer a more private getaway for your Salida vacation, Mt. Shavano is the chalet for you. It's located at the back of the property just 35 feet from the waters edge. It is the most popular chalet on the property, so it's best to book as early as possible.
Inside the cabin, you'll enjoy an open floor plan that offers plenty of light and lots of room for relaxation. The living room features a gas fireplace stove along with a 55-inch LED TV and DVD player. This room opens to the fully equipped kitchen, which makes it easy to gather together and socialize after a long day of adventures. Inside the kitchen, there's a toaster, blender, crockpot, dishes, flatware, utensils, a four burner stove and oven, microwave, and refrigerator. All you'll need to bring is the groceries.
There are even more amenities outside! Soak in the private hot tub, cook up some burgers on the charcoal grill, play some games on the picnic table, or lounge on the deck. Parking is available for two cars.
Regardless of when you visit, there's no need to worry that the cabin will be too warm or too cold. It's heated by electric baseboards and the gas fireplace in the winter. An evaporative air cooler unit is placed in the chalet in the summer months to keep it nice and cool.
The WiFi signal strength has been improved to this area of the property and you can enjoy surfing the web while on vacation.

Great spot between monarch and Salida. Hot tub worked great. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub not as private as the picture implies. Highway quite loud (woke kids up several times). Internet spotty at best. Kitchen had pots/pans/ dishes but zero condiments. Hard to prepare your own meals with nothing to add (ie olive oil, salt, pepper, ketchup etc). It would be impossible to cook many meals there unless you brought your own spices and condiments. Found it odd since that’s part of the draw to renting a house. Overall ok, but a few things to be desired.
