Woodland View Backwoods Cabins at Susitna Lodge

Walkable to town, nice view of river. Relaxing stay!

Not only is this one of the nicest accommodations in Talkeetna, they are still within walking distance to downtown, but far enough away it is quiet and peaceful. The river is just outside your front door! The staff is awesome!

Cabins are exceptionally clean, well appointed, and close to town.

The cabin was well appointed making our stay very comfortable. Bed was super comfy. Lots of room to spread out and relax.

The cabin was larger and cozier than I ever imagined and it was SO CLOSE to the river. The gnarled, moss covered tree outside was lovely and staff were incredible.

The cabin was clean and well appointed. It took us a while to find the hot plate, though. Reception was welcoming and check-in and out were both very easy.

Cabin was cute, comfortable, and well-stocked. Despite a prolonged power outage it stayed very warm, and we hardly heard the raging wind outside. Check in and check out was a breeze.

I appreciate how clean and well the cabins are kept. The beds are comfortable and it is nice that the lodge keeps a plethora of games and puzzles.

our family really loved the badminton court on the river. The view of the river in the cabins in the woods was really peaceful and quiet. The staff there is very friendly and helpful and it’s about a half mile from town.

The rustic cabins are lovely and the views are beautiful. Free coffee , cider, tea, and hot chocolate were nice touches. I would suggest breakfast rolls for purchase would be nice.

We had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our stay. The fridge is a pretty nice size that fit our groceries we had fit.

We enjoyed the cabin at Susitna River Lodge. Parking was easy and the property is beautiful. The bedrooms and living space was well appointed. We did expect a stove top for cooking so we were glad we had our camp stove with us to make dinners. Very nice cabin and surroundings.

This property was in a beautiful location right on the river. We were within a few minutes drive from resturants, shops, and nordic skiing in Talkeetna. We will be back.

The cabin was lovely, the location was great. Everything else was terrible. We got no information on how to check in. We had to find the phone number on Google after we discovered the name of the lodge which is not given to you on the Vrbo site. We actually had no idea. It was a lodge, we just thought it was a single cabin. The parking lot was being plowed when we arrived, there was no Management anywhere. We had to sit in our car for a hour and a half waiting for the plows to finish so we could park and get into our cabin. There was no power for our entire stay. We had no heat or lights. Even though the power outage was uncontrollable, we did not hear one word from management. They didn’t provide generators, lanterns, anything. We paid a higher price because we wanted a cabin with cooking facilities, which we did not get to use. I will not stay here again.

We rented a backwoods cabin which had 2 separate bedrooms with queen size beds, a full bath, living area, and kitchenette within microwave and sink. We really appreciated the cabin being so clean and neat and nicely furnished, with lots of windows for light. It’s the type of place you could hang out in really comfortably. We were not directly on the river but so close that we could easily see it and in just a few steps be at its bank! And staff was so friendly and helpful.

My family and I were en route from Fairbanks to Anchorage for a hockey tournament over Thanksgiving weekend and decided to stay the night in Talkeetna to break the trip up. Couldn't ask for a better find than our cabin at Susitna River Lodge! Every aspect of the stay was wonderful, even our 15 year old son who is often times difficult to be pleased was impressed.We will be back!

Susita River Lodge is everything imaginable. Scenery was phenomenal. Location was on the waterfront of the Susitna River, It was postcard worthy. We considered our rental our home away from home. The facilities was so clean, well equipped, maintained and cozy. This is our forth year to return. Can't recommend this place enough!

Our Backwoods Cabin was a great place to stay while visiting Talkeetna and hunting the Northern Lights in October! The cabin was cozy and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. It had a great front deck and plenty of room in the very clean cabin. They provided some nice essentials like coffee, tea, and paper plates if you didn't want to do dishes. The location of being close to the river and a wak to the town of Talkeetna was great. We will return!

Well-appointed cabin, comfortable beds and lots of peace and quiet! I have stayed here for several years, the owner and employees are super friendly and helpful. When in Talkeetna, I won't stay anywhere else!!

Picturesque setting, close to town. Comfortable beds. Firewood was wet so unable to get a fire going but would have been a perfect place to enjoy an evening fire.
