This place was great! Super clean and so quiet! We will definitely be back to stay again!
Our cabin was very clean, and the whole property was quiet while we were there. Location is great with easy access to everything we were there for. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
This was a perfect place to stay. Small clean cozy cabin that’s not far from the wineries. I really liked the place and plan on coming back soon.
Nice a quiet, good place to just go and be alone.
The area and the cabin were fantastic. Great accomodations close to the wine trail. Steve is a wonderful host and we look forward to staying with his properties again.
Close to the wine trail, Giant City State Park, Shawnee National Forest, etc.
This cabin was comfortable and cozy. The deck provided a perfect view of the stars in a quiet location. Just a few minutes from a number of hiking trails. The host was very responsive and so accommodating. We enjoyed our stay so much!!
This was a great place to stay. Close to wine trails. We will be staying here again.
The cabin was perfect for my husband and I and our dog for our 4 night get away. Had everything we needed. Steve was great in helping us get the gas fireplace started as we were unfamiliar with how to operate it. He had someone stop by and start the pilot light while we were gone so that when we got home we just had to turn it on. Made the evening and the next morning so cozy!
I stayed at this cabin for a long weekend while taking a two day board exam in Carbondale. It was the perfect find. Clean, quiet, affordable, and great amenities. The bed was comfortable and you had everything you needed to prepare your own food. The property manager reached out with clear instructions on checking in and what to expect. Thank you for making a stressful weekend a bit brighter.
Such a cute and peaceful little cottage and had everything we needed for a great weekend! Now if only the bed were bigger than full size. I'm going to check into the other cottages to see if we can get a unit with a bigger bed next time. Cabin 3 had a great view of woods and with the windows open at night we listened to crickets and hoot owls, which was lovely. Suggestions... provide tea for tea drinkers, broom off all the cobwebs around porch, put a screen on slider doors, bedroom carpeting could use a shampoo. PROS...comfy bed, soft linens, 4 pillows plus extras in closet, fluffy new towels, lovely shampoos etc..., french vanilla creamers, air conditioning, peaceful surroundings. All in all a great place! We're so glad that all the Carbondale hotels were full for parent's weekend and that, having to explore further, we found this place! This will be our new place for visiting our son at SIU! Thank you! Oh, also, print out your cabin number or take a screen shot before you get there. We couldn't get any internet and had to drive a ways away to be able to check e-mail on my phone for check in information. My fault. I should have had that on hand before we arrived.
Would stay again
Great value. Location was centrally located next to state parks and other attractions. Didn’t realize it was a duplex but was rear unit and ended up being quite private. Gas fireplace went out several times during stay, would flicker back in eventually.
We came to relax and we did
Cute Cabin in a beautiful and quiet area. Needs a little updating but overall was nice and clean.
We had a wonderful time in Makanda, IL. The cabin and setting is beautiful.
Place was clean Was very relaxing Would come back
Beautiful area. Wasnt really anywhere to park. The small space for the duplex was taken up by one car. Two cars could of fit but it would be really tight. Ended up parking by the dumpster. Accommodations were nice. The inside was decorated tastefully. Bed was super super comfortable! Had a sleeper sofa and a small rocker recliner. Sofa was about as comfortable as a sleep sofa could be. Recliner was small but comfortable. A little dusty around the fireplace but not terrible. There was a swarm of gnats hanging out in the bedroom above the lamp in the corner but didnt bother us. For the price, it was a good deal. Would definitely go there again. Owner was polite and answered emails quickly.
We were in town for a winery getaway. The space was perfect for our trip.
Good communications with Steve. Great place and close to all kinds of amenities. Would definitely stay again.
We loved this place! Nice accommodations, very helpful manager, reasonable price, very close to Giant City State Park. The manager even found me a place to go fishing!
Beautiful location central to many activities and easy to find.
we should count ourselves lucky. we had a stove to cook on, unlike cabin 2, although it was so old and dirty it set the smoke detector off every time we used it .do not expect luxuries. no hair dryer, dish washer, needs an upgrade on pots and pans. otherwise clean and easy to get to.
My wife and I came down for the weekend to spend some time with our kids who live in the area. This cabin was perfect. Clean, well-supplied. Comfortable. We’ll likely look to stay here again on our next visit.
What a wonderful stay we had! The cabin was easy to locate, even in the dark when we arrived. The cabin was immaculate and decorated in a stylish wine theme and was, without a doubt, the most well stocked VRBO house we’ve ever stayed in! The kitchen had everything! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the water pressure was great!! But without a doubt the most wonderful part of the cabin stay was the helpful maintenance man named Jason. Being a novice to gas fireplaces we asked his assistance to make sure it was done properly and he was most helpful and very respectful of our time and rented space. We also inquired about some local interests and he was a great help with his suggestions and recommendations for meals! In addition to the wonderful cabin, the great host, the helpful staff we found that Rainmakers Studio on the boardwalk was a wonderful hidden gem along the boardwalk as well as a picnic in Giant City State Park made for a perfect getaway in southern Illinois!
