The Stone Hut is a two story cabin ( 800 square feet) with a queen bedroom downstairs and two queen bedrooms upstairs.
Bedroom 1 (Granite Room) UPSTAIRS is spacious with a queen bed and sitting area in front of the windows with a coffee pot, hot water decanter, toaster, tea and coffee. It is connected via pocket door to the second bedroom (Northridge) which has a queen bed, large window and separate entry. Great views of the Alaska Range from all the rooms. Stayed Sep 9, 2025Very interesting property. Unfortunately, due to rainy weather, we missed seeing the exceptional view of Denali, but I’m sure it would have been wonderful. For four senior adults, it was a bit tricky. Three senior adults stayed upstairs, and the spiral staircase was a bit of a challenge (for me, due to joint issues). Host was responsive, and check-in was smooth.

Stayed Sep 5, 2025Quirky and cozy! Amazing view, a quick drive to Talkeetna, we’d definitely stay here again. Note: you must pass through one bedroom to get to another (or go outside) so not a ton of privacy.

Stayed Aug 21, 2025Overall, our stay was decent, but there are a few things that could use improvement, however we noticed some efforts to improve the property. The small details did effect the overall cleanliness and first impression of the property. Additionally, the online pictures gave us a slightly different expectation of the space, especially the stairs and bathrooms.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025Gorgeous and unique house with a phenomenal direct view of Denali. Easily accessible in the summer. Short drive to town for good food. Not a good house for kids or people unsteady on their feet. Back deck has some dry rot/holes as well so be careful. Three separate BnBs on the property but easy to get privacy inside yours.

Stayed Jul 3, 2025Amazing doesn’t do credit to describe the Stone Hut. We are a family of five adults and found the space a perfect fit for our needs. The property has two other structures in close proximity, but you feel transported to your own private ski hut. Olde world craftsmanship, perfectly complimented by tasteful and well thought out decor surrounds you. Yes, you can see Denali from the property on a clear day! The beds were all comfortable, with handmade quilts and plenty of extra blankets if needed. The kitchen is well stocked, and there’s no wasted space in the hut. Great communication, easy check-in/out made this a destination unto itself! If you’re going to Talkeetna and want a lodging experience that becomes a part of your trip’s story, stay here!
