Stayed Jul 13, 2024This was our second time stay at this wonderful cabin which is tucked in the forest with long range mountain views and surrounded by nature. The cabin has everything needed and is very clean. Linda is great to work with. The high elevation and shade in the forest makes for cool summer days.

Stayed Jul 21, 2023The living room of this cottage looks out, through a wall of glass windows and doors, onto a spacious deck and the distant ridges of Roan Mountain. Overall, it is exceptionally well equipped and furnished. In late July, the air felt cool, fresh and breezy. There are many wonderful hiking trails within easy reach, but the cottage and deck make such an enjoyable retreat to return to. The host, Linda, lives close enough to respond right away to any needs or questions. After an idyllic week's stay, we hope to visit again.

Stayed Jul 1, 2023Very happy with our stay at the Green Earth Mountain Retreat. Linda is a great welcoming host, she will answer questions about the area and address any concerns right away. Beautiful and cozy, clean and well maintained cabin. Comfortable beds is a big plus. Lovely deck with plenty of room and amazing view of the forest and mountains. We got to observe flying squirrels at the bird feeders after dawn - amazing! Wonderful location as well. Our family enjoyed swimming in the lakes, hiking Roan Mountain trails, and visiting stunning waterfalls near by. Most relaxing two summer weeks we spent!

Stayed Jul 16, 2022We had a wonderful stay in July. Linda was a fantastic host and even recommended some events occurring during our stay. The location was perfect for us to be in the mountains where it's cooler and close to nearby hiking. We had everything we needed at the cabin and really enjoyed the wildlife around including seeing some flying squirrels.

Stayed Mar 19, 2022This is a perfect cabin for those looking for great hikes--or just time to chill out on the deck and enjoy the mountain views. The Appalachian Trail is 0.7 miles from the cabin (with limited parking at the trailhead if you prefer to drive). The Roan Highlands are fabulous, especially hiking along the long ridgeline. It's a short drive to Carver's Gap where you can hike the Balds, and Roan Mountain State park has some nice shorter trails. The cabin is extremely comfortable and well stocked with everything you will need. Linda is an excellent host--don't hesitate to call her if you need anything!
