Ligonier, Pennsylvania
Rustic and charming getaway in the Laurel Highlands. Enjoy country surroundings 3 miles from downtown Ligonier and all its wonderful shops and restaurants.
Renovated, contemporary kitchen, gas fireplace and wood burning stove, sunny sunroom and rustic fire pit are a few of the amenities that will make you feel welcome. Rolling hills and wildlife surround this built-into the hillside cabin.
Newly added (June 2023) second floor bathroom with shower and window view of rolling hills has been very popular with guests. We also added a washer dryer on first floor which makes the cabin a complete dream spot to enjoy.
Gourmet style kitchen for hanging out or preparing a meal. If you like to cook, you’ll find a large selection of pots and pans, serving pieces and ceramic dishware. Plenty of water and wine glasses and assorted other kitchen items such as waffle maker, blender and coffee press.
Beautiful deck-porch off the sun room at the lower level is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view and peace and quiet of the countryside. Great place for morning coffee too.
2 nice sized bedrooms, recently painted and finished with excellent beds and bedding.
Extra sleeping available - Two twin blow up mats always available. i
Cabin decor is an eclectic mix of furniture- antiques, thrift shop finds and interesting artwork and artifacts. "rustic!"
The cozy sunroom is a combination living room and dining area that is the favorite place to hang. Nine windows give you a birds eye view to the woods, mountains, fields and meadows. The gas fired ‘wood’ stove heats up at the flip of a switch and keeps it toasty and cozy. In the kitchen the cast iron wood stove is available to enjoy a real woodburning fire.
Industrial style staircase leads from the upper level to the lower level entrance, complete with flowering garden on each side. Where this cool welded hunk of metal staircase came from, we don't know, but we love it and it is a favorite spot to sit.
The surrounding area is filled with many activities and areas to explore when Snow season is here!
Enjoy skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, or sitting in the lodge and enjoying the view at the major snow attractions in the area.
Area ski and snow resorts include Seven Springs, Laurel Mountain, and Hidden Valley. All are easily accessible and offer many family activities for enjoying the beautiful seasons.
The town of Ligonier is 3 easy miles away with its many restaurants and charming shops. The Diamond is the gazebo and small park at the center of town that is beautifully decorated for the holiday and winter as well as year round.
Enjoy hiking and relaxing at the beautiful Linn Run sate park, only 15 minutes away.
ALSO NOTE
Please note that the cabin front is very close to a low traffic Wilpen road. We have had many guests with small children stay as well as pets and this hasn't been an issue but wanted to point it out clearly.
Please also note that the cabin is built into a hillside so there are steps to navigate. If you or anyone in your party has climbing or navigating stairs as an issue, please check pictures before you book. Bedrooms are on upper level with stairs to the lower level kitchen, sunroom, bathroom.
Pets are welcome- you will be charged a $50.00 fee when booking. We ask that you keep pets contained in a crate (condo:) if left unattended. Also, we provide extra sheets for furniture and bed covering if your pet is on these pieces. Please clean up and keep pet hair to minimum. You will be charged for additional cleaning if necessary. Thank you for your understanding.
The owner was very responsive and super nice! The cabin was very clean, cozy, nice kitchen to cook. Very close to downtown Ligoneer.
Beautiful cozy cabin with all modern amenities and excellent location . The owners were a pleasure to deal with and the town of ligonier was one of the best towns ive ever visited . Deff will be booking another trip in the near future !!!
Lovely little cabin that felt remote, but was only minutes from town. Deer wandered by, lots of birds to see. Wonderful place for a couple’s getaway. Owners were very helpful, offering details on the cabin and suggestions for places to eat. In addition there’s a collection of information on local restaurants, activities, and such conveniently put together in a basket. Also enjoyed the thoughtful welcoming wine and birthday cupcakes!
Loved every minute and can't wait till we come back!
My husband and myself ended up being sick during our visit. Spent most of our time in the cabin. It was so cozy with great internet. All we needed get better. Host was very accommodating allowing us a late checkout. We will definitely be back again.
There was an odor at this place that was terrible.
We had a great stay over Memorial Day weekend to kick off our summer. The cabin was exactly as described, with some renovations going on that the hosts made sure to warn us about, so no surprises there. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed, and the lower level bathroom looks recently done, with another bathroom on the upper floor in the works. The hosts were very friendly and made sure we felt welcome, and gave us tips on things to try in the region. If you're staying over the weekend and want to try Wyldfire Bread, be sure to preorder on Thursday afternoon; when I checked their website Friday morning, everything was already sold out. The only thing to keep in mind is that the hill the cabin is built on is pretty steep. There are stairs from the lower parking area all the way to the porch, with a landing at the lower level. I'd recommend taking luggage and such in through the front door, it leads straight to the bedrooms and you don't have to haul everything up the hill. This was a great stay for us!
We stayed at the cozy cabin for a long weekend in January. The cabin was clean and very cozy. Our daughter loved the sunroom where she was able to play. She also loved that they had s’mores for her! Lenor responded fast to all of our questions and any small issue we had. She also allowed us to check in early and check out late which made it really nice for us! We can't wait to stay again!
Perfect cabin for our family of 4. We stayed for a New Year's ski vacation and the property is an easy drive to both Laurel Mountain and 7 Springs. Very comfortable and communication with the owner was fantastic. They provided local recommendations and responded quickly to questions. Everything we needed was easily accessible throughout the home. Highly recommend.
This was the perfect bolthole for us during a week when we needed to be in and around Latrobe. Tom and Lenor have thought of everything and provide so many little touches to ensure that your stay is comfortable and convenient. The sunroom at the back was our favorite place to hang out. Parking was a little challenging, and the gravel trucks going up and down the track out the back were sometimes noisy, but we loved having Ligonier so close.
It was a very peaceful relaxing weekend and we loved they stay cabin was awesome place to stay very nice
The cabin was great! Quiet, private. Very clean, everything you needed was provided. We ended up needing help with something minor on our end (no fault of the owners) and when we reached out they were able to have someone there faster than excepted. Highly recommend!
The cabin was a perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals. The king size bed was comfortable. We were able to visit 9 state parks, Johnstown, Fort Ligonier, and went biking on the Ghost town trail and Ohiopyle.
Very pleasant experience!!
This property was exactly what was shown in the add and was beautiful! We had a great time and the owners were great with getting back to us with any questions! Hope to stay here again in the future!
